Beautiful car. I just picked up an 83 GT 5.0 5 speed from the original owner with only 22000 original miles. It still smells brand-new inside I can't believe it.

SwissTexan Sounds great on camera but I still don’t think it does it justice. Sounds awesome in person!

I've got one of my high school buddy's 1982 mustang. Making a street car out of it. Love 82 mustangs. Always wanted one. In school but never could afford a new car in high school.

Yeah! Nice show plus nothing like being the original owner. Good job for keeping all these years. I bought my 1982 Mustang GT 5.0L H.O. 302 Boss V8 4-Speed (with Reverse guess call it a 5 Speed) 157HP 2-Barrel Carb with T-Tops in Fresno, California from Friendly Ford dealership on Blackstone. The exterior was Bittersweet Glow (Red) and the Interior was Black cloth. Appreciate you saying the alloy wheels were not original. Mine came with Firestone 721 tires and before I put 10,000 miles on them they were bald down to the mesh. I recall getting Bridgestone tires in late 1983 to replace those cheap no good Firestones. That was 40 years ago. Interesting it was said that it could go 0-60 in 8 seconds. My wife's new 2022 Honda Civic Touring i4-1.5L Turbo 180HP does 0-60 in 7.4 seconds with a lousy CVT. California at the time in 1982 was deciding which car would be used as a Police Interceptor, the 1982 Mustang GT or the 1982 Camero. The Mustang won. Well, cars of the 1960s and early 1970s had some awesome powerful V8's. The return of the 302 simply was bogged down - nerfed and should have had over 200 HP. I believe MSRP was like $13,998 or under $15K. If you still have a record of what you paid, please post it. Thanks again, it was a fun car to drive - basically any car with a standard is more fun than an automatic. Rear wheel drive. why did they have to go to FWD? In 1983, Ford ruined the looks by inverting the hood air intake (it was fake anyways) Imagine modifying the carburetor on the 1982 Mustang GT with a functional air intake. It was nice that the bench back seat could be folded down.

Had the same exact car. Top loader 4 speed. Reverse was over to you and up. Those 7.5 inch posi-tract rear ends are weak though. Slung the guts out of mine twice before I got smart enough to 8.8 swap it.

I have the two barrel still. What sort of gains did you make by upgrading to the four barrel? Big difference?

Ford really should have started the 4bbl 5 speed in 82 instead of 83.
