I own a 82 Capri RS 5.0 since new. Local Mercury dealer in the showroom. Driven daily for 42 years... never will be stuffed in a barn if I can help it! Upgrade to a T-5 trans, aluminum driveshaft, 93 GT 8.8 axle with 3:55 gear set. Bigger 93 GT brakes and spindles with coilover conversion kit. 17x8/9 classic gold mesh wheels and engine untouched... 371k miles. Not for sale! Been offered $15k thus far.
Very nice survivor! Keep her original and she will skyrocket in value. Notice how many people asking to buy it as is? I got an ‘85 with 37k original miles and 9/10 overall condition. Replaced the Holley carburetor with Edelbrock Pro Flo 4 EFI. Kept all the original parts tho. Carb kept flooding itself. Those virgin fox bodies are few and far between. Shes a keeper for sure.
I have a 88 hatch now with a 331scat stroker i built from the factory block, it had 256k miles b4 i built it a year ago, got about 3k miles on it now, its been a challenge becouse o kept it fuel injection, has a systemax intake but ive always liked that clip, i had a 86gt in high school i crashed once and i come close to putting a 82 nose cone on it to fix the damage but in the end went back original @brandonchristy3096
Awesome car.. I repainted one the exact color 1999 . I painted it in Berea Kentucky. I moved back home to Wauchula FLA. any the car had found its way to my home town. .
@brandonchristy3096 make sure you be real careful of the rear tail lights.....mega bucks an unobtainium. Same goes with all the window chrome. Don't throw anything away
I sold my 83 GT last February i miss it, I tried to buy a 82 GT back in the day I fell in love with the maroon color on the GT my credit sucked never happened

Nice 4 eye - keep it in the condition you found it. Clean up the interior and put a Sniper EFI on it and enjoy it!! Wow I had one back in the day and riptide was black-fun car and mine was the five speed!!
I bought a black one radio delete, power windows, air conditioning no t-top no sunroof brand new from Schemerler Ford in Elk Grove Illinois 60007 I have beeen looking for a mint one for years ! Nice score!
They need a lot of work to bring them to proper spec IMO, been there. Front spindles/brakes, diff, SROD. However, it has the look and early Fox body details that make it worth it.
2 barrel carb, old 4 speed and 157 hp, the Mustang wasnt fully back til 1983….5 speed, Holly 4 barrel and 175 hp. 1982 was just a lot of plastic glued on.
Usually they talk to original owner and get some history on the car but talk about the car and not just look around and zooming in and out and only hear some people talking in the background about non important stuff unless its about this car
Actually, this 1982 GT represented Detroit's revival of the performance car. This 5.0 Mustang initiated the rebirth of what we still enjoy to this day. A V8 performance car. Peak malaise would have been 1975 to 1981.
I had this same color but with the black bottom half and factory rear window louvers this has non gt wheels the oem gt wheels where a horrible size tire metric

@@brandonchristy3096 They know ! They’re probably hoping you don’t know 😂
Still have my one family owned, very original, 82! Nice!
That's really cool. They are awesome cars. I can't wait to get this one on the road
Absolutely! I love that front end
These are cool cars. But it seems people either love or hate them

Nice find. Love the front end, hood scoop is awesome, hood logo great touch and wonderful patina. Clean ir up and enjoy! 👍
Thanks
Those are some good old boys right there ! Cool Stang 👍
Thanks
Nice car. Clean 4 sure. Like to see it done & back on the road. Maybe a Efi Holley 👍
I hope to get it back on the road but I'm not sure what we will get into in the engine.
Nice 82, my dream car. My Dad had one, while i had 81 Mercury Capri RS.
The mercury Capri Rs are pretty cool

They are cool little cars
I picked up a 1982 GLX knotchback 5.0 couple weeks ago.
Good to see another getting saved.
Awesome

@@StageShout thanks for that advice. I've been trying to be really careful because I'm not sure how easy it will be to replace
@@brandonchristy3096 Keep everything. Very little can be replaced. Just have the front driver's seat repaired at the seam. Those seats are ultra rare.

I'm in hickory NC. Nice find
Thank you. I'm excited to see what comes of it.
I'm also from hickory NC!! Love this 82
Nice car!
It seems to be solid needs a little TLC but I think it will make a nice vehicle.
What is that guy doing in the car? Looks like that would make pulling it harder!
I got cassette tapes.😊
Have you sold it already?
@@teenachristy977 not yet
@@teenachristy977 he was in it just in case we needed someone to hit the brakes
After seeing the back lights it is an 82 .. with some upgrades with the wheels and paint scheme
It's a cool car
Didnt those 10 holes come out in 85?
We think it's had some upgrades
Yep. 82 would have had the optional 3 spoke TRX specific wheels or the standard aluminum wheels with the square pockets around the perimeter
Nice
Thanks
Time to hit the sideshow
😁
Did someone paint match the sail panels to the body color? Shouldn't those be flat black?
It appears the entire vehicle was repainted at some point in the past we couldn't tell that for all the dirt on it when we looked at it.

Yeah hopefully we didn't bite off more than we can chew.
Would have had trx wheels I believe
I'm not sure I just know its cool
Yes, the 82s would’ve came with TRX and another option rim
@@kos2318 Yes the other option were the ones that looked like the ford truck wheels
I'm interested in buying it. For sale?
Yes

Looks like an 85 gt
It’s an 82 with 85 wheels. 85 didn’t have the big front spoiler 3:34
Looks like it has some upgrades
That’s definitely an 82 GT. You can’t mistake that front end from any other year.
Thats no barn find! A carport with plastic around it,,,
Yeah but carport find doesn't sound as good as barn find
Peak malaise era smog junk 😂

I've seen some other comments about the wheels. I'm going to have to look them up and see how they look.
