Always have to add diag time and depending how dirty it is it as little extra optional time to clean up can be added. I'm glad I don't work up north though and deal with rust lol
Unless there's a very specific issue you can point to like severe rust or a modification, it pays what the book says. Tech can say what they want, I know what I'm typing in.
I couldn't disagree more. Book time was set with a new vehicle and zero cleaning time. If the vehicle is more than 2 years old or there's any mess I'm adding time.
I have no issue charging over book time, but communication is key as far as managing time expectations. If tech says done by 4, advisor should be checking in around 3ish not 4:15
Favoritism works both ways. If they would rather not work on your cars it’s probably due to something you have done. Like causing unnecessary issues or drama. Bashing another tech that couldn’t get to it and asking you to save the day an hour before you leave. Playing favorites and feeding other techs service work and only give them warranty that others won’t do. Not saying either is right or wrong. But if that’s how it is that relationship was broken way before this happened. Maybe he padding on time because you kept saying “I’ll get you on the next one”. And he wanted you to pay up. I know it’s a skit but this does happen. And no side is right.
I love it when a customer decides to drive through a tar pit, then a mud pile then another tar pit, then concrete after having an oil, trans and diff leak for 20 years whinge about why it takes so long to do a safety inspection. A normally 15 min job turns into an oddessy. 😂 like nah bro. Thats a 2 hour job. Or a quick fail. Either one i get paid.
