Excellent vid, I used to work at Thornaby on a YTS placement lol, I remember walking out to take a look around the class 45, was in a bit of a mess inside, I used to help out fueling up the locos too, brought back alot of memories there, cheers :D
Can't believe it. Saw 47362 on your vid. Only class 47 out of the 500 odd of them I haven't seen. Shame she's scrapped now. Great vid bringing back happy memories.
beautiful. i trained there in 1990 as a driver and stayed until 94. happy memories. passed the other week en route to redcar races and nearly cried when i saw that it had been flattened, sad
Ah memories, check out Derek Slack Cat 1 extraordinaire at 0.35 with the jet cleaner, at 6:54 37512 "Thornaby Demon" named because of the Diesel Engine Monitoring Equipment fitted. And finally at 9:28 08867 The Ralph Easby. Thanks and regards, Rob Bateman Electrician Thornaby TMD 1987 -1998.
Great vid bringing back many happy memories. Never got round there even with ICRS. I see you got 47362 that day. Only 47 I needed to complete the class of 500 or so. Respect!
Awesome- grew up on the depot as my Dad worked in the stores and I spent most weekends on and around there. They used to run depo tours in the 90's- if you turned up at 10 on a Sunday one of the guys would take you round for a donation to a local charity.
