    Great safety reminder video, brother. Thanks for sharing your hook-up system. Your video should not cause controversy but instead should receive praise for reminding folks about safety while trailering. Have a great Independence Day and thanks again for the share. 👍🏽🤠 7/3/23

    Thanks for the video. Having a load fall off the trailer makes for a bad day.
    I once saw a 26' boat sitting on the pavement in the right hand lane of an InterState Hiway. They had winched the boat onto the trailer and thought the winch strap should hold it. It did, until they started up a fairly steep hill. Then it didn't. I'm sure that was a long ride home.
    Having your load well secured saves not just your load, but possibly someone following you. Thanks

      😎👊Hi Mike,
      I hear you! I have seen a few boats on the road as well. “That’s not going anywhere”, I think is what they say when they leave the dock…🙁. Better to be safe! Have a great 4th!🍺🇺🇸🚜

    Thank you sir for some reallly good suggestions. Never really thought about the 4 points being anchored. I have 4 of the same rachet straps, but only ever ised two. Makes perfect sense anchor all 4 corners. You've helped a lor of people in this video. 👍🇺🇸

    Thanks Mike.
    I went with a 7 Ton 21' Tilt deck. No dealing with Ramps and supporting the back of the Trailer. I can load my DK on the Trailer with out it being Hooked to the Truck.
    I tie the Front by going over the Loader frame then back to the Tractor frame by the Axle on Both side with Grade 70 Chain & Ratchet binders.
    On the Back I reach in behind the back hoe Mount and hook there, then to the Trailer ( if You hook wrong the Chain hook can slide off) there is a specific spot to hook to.
    If my Forks are on I have to Load backwards like You did. the CG is to far back with 48" forks .
    I'd opt for the "D" ring style as the 2nd opt sticks down to far. I am looking for a front 2" Receiver Mount so I can put My
    6 Ton Hydraulic winch on it. LOL.. I might have to Fab up My own..
    Mike M..

    Hi Michael, good timing with this video considering I will be doing an out of state transport of a tractor on my Best 9,000 lb tilt deck trailer soon. One problem I had recently towing is a CG problem where the trailer was loaded too far back and would start to fishtail around 45-50 mph. It was strange because I hauled it with the tractor pointed forward before with no problems. Had to back it on the next time and it was fine.

    • @tractorrookie

      🚜Hi Will,
      Crazy. I actually thought about that. There are so many things to think about when you’re towing. Good thing you knew what to do and you dealt with it. It seems like many folks don’t really do the research to be safe. Proper tongue weight with your load is huge topic in itself. I’m excited to see your new tractor! Have a great 4th!🍺🇺🇸🚜

    Hi Michael, I noticed you used one of photos after I returned from CRR with the new CK2620. Hopefully, it is an example of how to trailer and tie down a tractor properly (not the opposite!). Some notes about the trip, without tie downs in the front we looped the strap over the grill guard- not recommended, it scuffed the paint on the hood by the time I got back, had some concerns 😅that my surge brakes were working especially coming down the long grades north and south of the California/Oregon border and finally where I had parked the trailer on my sloped driveway it exaggerated the angle in the front making it look like it was sagging more than it does on level ground. In any event trailering the tractor is always a challenge to get everything right and be safe on the road. Thanks for the advice!

      @tractorrookie  ปีที่แล้ว

      😊Yes Will!
      Hopefully you didn’t mind! I probably should have asked you. Trailering is definitely a challenge, especially for some people. Some of the things people do is crazy. I didn’t read in to anything you did, I just needed some trailering photos 😅 I am glad you made it home safe, that was a long ride. Frustrating that you had some rub marks, but that sounds minor compared to the risks we take driving these days. Thanks for the comment! Take care!🚜🇺🇸

    Hey Mike, great video. I have the D-ring front tie down and so far haven’t noticed any noise issue. If I had both options, I think I would have went with the one you did, definitely much more heavy duty. Enjoyed the video, safety first, I sometimes forget that. Happy 4th.

      🇺🇸👊Hi Jeff!
      Thank you! I do like the D-ring plate, but after having them in my hand, I had to pick one. I am hoping to find another use for the d-ring plate. Happy 4th to you and yours!🚜😎🌲

    One problem I've seen is safety chains dragging on the ground. On my new trailer, I put D rings every four feet. I've always believed that there's no such thing as too many securment straps or chains. The biggest thing is to get where you are going to safely.

    • @tractorrookie
      @tractorrookie  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      👊💪Hi Kevin!
      I hear you! Dragging chains is definitely a sign something went wrong! Good tip on the d-rings, I bet that makes things easier to secure! Thanks for sharing and stopping by!
      Happy 4th!🇺🇸🍺🚜

    An additional point.... it is desirable to have a tongue weight of 10 - 15% of your trailer gross weight. This weight is borne by the tow vehicle, and thus does not count toward the trailer's gross weight. For example with your 7,000 lb trailer, if your trailer, tractor, and implements weigh a total of 7,000 pounds, and you have loaded it so that the tongue weight is 15% (1,050 lbs) you actually have a trailer gross weight of 5,950 lbs (7,000 - 1,050). This gives you more latitude to haul a bit more weight.

      Hi Comlbbeau!
      I appreciate you checking out the video and commenting. Practically speaking you are exactly correct. Legally speaking, we did not use that same logical reasoning when we inspected commercial vehicles. Not the same criteria applies to personal use. Cheers! 🚜🇺🇸

    How are you finding that front plate impacts your ground clearance? I’d be afraid of getting caught on something - does it hang down a lot?

    • @tractorrookie
      @tractorrookie  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Eric,
      Maybe it’s the camera angle, I don’t think it really impacts my clearance. I haven’t got it caught on anything. It sure is handy for hauling the tractor. I recently helped load up a new one we sold and I had forgotten how tricky it can be to tie-down on the front. Thanks for stopping by! Cheers 🚜🇺🇸🌲
