Some times I wonder how you build anything. But Robbie is a driven hard worker and has a huge payroll every month and I see you being recognized as a master builder. Winning awards.
There is no better person to win that truck than a man named Rusty Mayberry.... you can't dream up a more fitting named person. Man i love this channel. Thanks, @RobbyLayton and team for the continued amazing content.
you guys should use ball joint eliminators for the front axle so u guy's won't ever have to mess with ball joints ever again on fred plus they're alot stronger vs the oem ball joints
Robbie, Pro Tip: You had the adjustable wrench 'backwards' on that frame lip. You can break the 'adjustable' parts applying excessive pressure to that side.
Congratulations Rusty. Going to Maine that’s exactly what the 72 GMC will be in three years.😂😂😂., Come on Rusty you know I’m kidding! or am I ??.😅😅 merry Christmas and happy new year Rusty. I hope you enjoyed the truck for many years to come.
Merry Christmas to you and your family. And the crew at your shop .. I look forward to seeing all videos .. really makes my day .. love your projects and work you do at your shop . Continue the great work !!!!!!!
the evaporator is mini radiator looking thing.... the canister you mentioned is the receiver/dryer. although it sounds like they do the same thing, they do not.
I would be so lost without the fine details being described in fine detail... 😂 My coworkers tell me to quit talking and just do it... I spend too much time planning... according to them... 😂
I always end doing motors and transmissions alone, so i do them separately, fight it all day long, curse, throw stuff and hurt myself. Just the way it goes.
Im so close to dropping the cab on my pickup. This video just teases me. My engine was ready before i tore the truck apart. I wanted to drive it before taking it all apart.
Hillbilly learning Spanish is the best thing ever. He doesn't realize it yet, but he'll be arguing along en Espanol in pequeña cantidad de tiempo. Make my words, Ricky...
Congratulations Rusty. Happy for u but sad for me 😢. I woukd love to own thst beautiful survivor. I have a 95 survivor that just rolled 100 k miles. Love these old trucks
Congratulation on your 1 year . The only thing i suggest next time you change any joints maybe a LITTLE ANTI SEIEZE since you do use fred in every weather condition.
In 92 they never made a 4 wheel drive dually so if you have one it was a conversation and that's probably why you're having issues with part's that front axle could be old stock from the 80's my friend ordered a 92 dually 4 wheel drive from the dealership and the front axle was from 1988
Lucky that one had the old style hub retaining nuts. The new style is a ratcheting style that one needs the socket to tighten or loosen as the nut self locks.
I need some body work and a bedside painted on my Ram truck. It would be awesome to do a TH-cam video together. Me learning Robby Layton teaching and my channel getting a boost
Those slide pins for the brakes need lubrication or one side will wear only and you will drop out a pad leaving only the caliper piston as your stoping surface. The Chiltons doesn't list this step at all but it is extremely necessary. Best time to have a working emergency brake.
Well, if they would read the instructions, it would help as well. I have watch others do this conversion and everything is explained in the instructions. C&C equipment did on about a year ago and everything was right in the instructions.
Fan blades are spaced for sound. Unequal spaced blades can't agree on a frequency so they are quieter. Same as raker tooth on saw blade, different spacing on the saw tooth is quieter.
According to AI - Engine fan blades are often not symmetrical because uneven spacing and blade angles help to reduce noise by disrupting the repetitive air pressure waves created by evenly spaced blades, resulting in a smoother and quieter operation; this is especially important in high-RPM engine cooling fans where even minor vibrations can be noticeable. Key points about asymmetrical fan blades: Noise reduction: The primary reason for non-symmetrical blades is to minimize the "blade pass frequency" which generates a distinct, often unpleasant noise when blades are evenly spaced. Aerodynamic efficiency: By carefully designing the blade angles and spacing, engineers can optimize airflow and maximize cooling efficiency. Vibration control: Uneven spacing can also help to distribute vibrations more evenly across the fan, reducing overall vibration levels.
Dang Robbie think Hector being there for 1 year anniversary nobody knew about it and nobody seemed to care he seems to be a hard worker I think you guys should have done something for him
The reason why half the parts are wrong is because Ford and other manufacturers change stuff sometimes 2 or more times during production from the previous year model to the new year. They will change suppliers, use all the old stock from previous year if compatible until new year or new design. Got a 91 Silverado with the same issues for front rotors(3 options), mastercylinder, and drums.
Remember boys, with that grid heater in the intake you cannot use ether without disconnecting one wire first or you will blow things too a bad place.😅😅😅😅😅😅
Fan blades are not evenly spaced to reduce noise. It disrupts the consistent air pressure waves. Minimizing the harmonic resonance and vibrations.
Yep, less noise
I learn something everyday ❤
This is correct!
10:26 , what he says
Tom Tom shop just covered this last week on his channel as well.
Congratulations, Hector, on your one-year anniversary working with those yahoos. You've been enjoyable to watch on the channel.
One year anniversary means that the hazing should stop. He's proven himself to be an asset to the team. We love Hector on Team RLN.
Congratulations Hector on your 1 year anniversary
Whiskers definitely needs a loving restoration like King Fred.
Congrats Hector on a year!
Not painting that red bracket black on the motor drove me nuts.. lol
Congratulations Hector on 1 year🎉
Thank for the video.

Yeah perfect. Now the truck goes to die hahahaha.
@@benjamindavidson632Yeah, hopefully it’s not his new winter driver
My name is much better. 😆
Someone, pinch me!
Hector, you are a star
The uneven spacing is to reduce noise, just like the blocks on your tires are unevenly spaced to reduce harmonic noise generation.
you guys should use ball joint eliminators for the front axle so u guy's won't ever have to mess with ball joints ever again on fred plus they're alot stronger vs the oem ball joints
Robbie, Pro Tip:
You had the adjustable wrench 'backwards' on that frame lip. You can break the 'adjustable' parts applying excessive pressure to that side.
Happy anniversary Hector, you are an great addition to the team. 😊😊😊
Congratulations Rusty. Going to Maine that’s exactly what the 72 GMC will be in three years.😂😂😂.,
Come on Rusty you know I’m kidding! or am I ??.😅😅 merry Christmas and happy new year Rusty. I hope you enjoyed the truck for many years to come.
Happy Anniversary Hector! I hope for nothing but the best for you and yours.
Congrats Rusty
Congrats Rusty, from a fellow Mainer!!!
Congrats on that epic win Rusty
The rooster yelling SEAN was hilarious. You need that any time you call for Sean.
Robby when I watch you guys on Sunday morning it's hilarious. Puts me in a good mood. So keep building stuff you have no idea how to. You funny!
Thanks for adding Hector. Him and Hillbilly going at it best thing ever
Merry Christmas to you and your family. And the crew at your shop .. I look forward to seeing all videos .. really makes my day .. love your projects and work you do at your shop . Continue the great work !!!!!!!
Congratulations Hector!! You're a great asset to the Layton team!!
the evaporator is mini radiator looking thing.... the canister you mentioned is the receiver/dryer. although it sounds like they do the same thing, they do not.
Hey! Tell Owen it’s not called “smashing”, it’s called “clearencing”!!! 😊
Hope you all have a Merry Christmas and a blessed New Year. Thanks for the entertainment
Congratulations Hector on your one year workaversary!
Call in Merlin! That would be some great episodes. I know he'd help. That's who he is.
Happy 1 year in USA Hector, 2025 is going to be a great time at RLN!
Congratulations Rusty
That's right Hector little man big stick 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Feliz primer aniversario, Hector!
The Scooby-Doo bit broke me up!
Loved the bad finger snap into Matt's channel!
Owen, nice job explaining what you were doing with the hubs 'n axles!
You’ll are becoming vary boring get out there and do some recover
Congrats to Hector!!
Congratulations hector
I would be so lost without the fine details being described in fine detail... 😂 My coworkers tell me to quit talking and just do it... I spend too much time planning... according to them... 😂
Great Cody cameo watching the kids at play.
Good work Boys And congrats Hector
Hector pressing Owen is classic
I always end doing motors and transmissions alone, so i do them separately, fight it all day long, curse, throw stuff and hurt myself. Just the way it goes.
Congratulations Rusty have fun with your new truck 😢😂
👍🏽🇺🇸👍🏽 congratulations Hector on a year. Hope there’s many more
Well, so much for the clean rust free truck.
Going to Maine...poor baby.
Hillbilly love for Hector is on another level.... they make the language barrier between them very hilarious!!
Got to read the pictures😊
Thanks for all the great video s
Necesitamos más Héctor
Merry Christmas Layton Nation employees, family, and friends.
I wouldn’t trust me to touch your diesel either… 😂
Merry Christmas to all at Robby Layton Nation
Im so close to dropping the cab on my pickup. This video just teases me. My engine was ready before i tore the truck apart. I wanted to drive it before taking it all apart.
congrdulations hector !
Fins are oriented to optimize low noise
Hillbilly learning Spanish is the best thing ever. He doesn't realize it yet, but he'll be arguing along en Espanol in pequeña cantidad de tiempo. Make my words, Ricky...
THANKS FOR ANOTHER GREAT VIDEO. MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU AND YOUR FAMILY AND TEAM. EMILE AND KATHY FROM CT.
Fan blades is a noise things. Stops it from sounding like propeller driven aeroplane.
I’m thinking hillbilly’s snap is broken. And hector loves pulling hillbilly’s chain. 😂😂😂😂
Weight distribution also. The oddly placed blade is left to last mount when dynamically balancing the fan.
Congratulations Rusty. Happy for u but sad for me 😢. I woukd love to own thst beautiful survivor. I have a 95 survivor that just rolled 100 k miles. Love these old trucks
I was just thinking after looking at Matt’s video the other day that you guys get whiskers ready to go for winter recoveries.
I always use the spaced out blade area in the fan to put my hand with a wrench It makes it easier.
Congratulation on your 1 year . The only thing i suggest next time you change any joints maybe a LITTLE ANTI SEIEZE since you do use fred in every weather condition.
Muchas Felicidades, Hector. No te dejes pisotear
Happy anniversary Hector

The fan spacing is for noise, it helps break up the single frequency
Beautiful truck beautiful engine and it’s mainly because that’s my favorite color
I need some body work and a bedside painted on my Ram truck. It would be awesome to do a TH-cam video together. Me learning Robby Layton teaching and my channel getting a boost

Maybe ask Sean to look at the problem! Not just having him change a part . He could probably find out why its not working ✓
Well, if they would read the instructions, it would help as well. I have watch others do this conversion and everything is explained in the instructions. C&C equipment did on about a year ago and everything was right in the instructions.
It's for noise control. The fan would make a lot more noise if they were all even (I don't know why, but I learned that on Fab Rats). 😉
Dang that truck is going to be coming up to Maine? Poor truck. Might see it at the Bonny Eagle car show!
The fan.. for less noise is why it's designed that way.
The fan blades are offset to reduce noise,
I love what you are doing mat and I love you trucks
I'm saying Hillbilly has a dream job and that Robby is a great boss...oops Demri is the BOSS
Fan blades are spaced for sound. Unequal spaced blades can't agree on a frequency so they are quieter. Same as raker tooth on saw blade, different spacing on the saw tooth is quieter.
Robby, I heard that Paul has a new wheel alignment machine.
We need a "Team Hector" t-shirt or sticker.
Fan blades have a larger gap so you could get a water pump belt over the fan back in the day
That's awesome I am from Maine that's super awesome
happy christmas to you all
The fan blades are offset to avoid noise caused by harmonics.
It changes the frequency generated by the fan to reduce the noise.
It’s to cause vibrations to be lower while causing air cavitation to force it through your radiator
If they axle swap it, they should use f450 super duty axles with coils in front, they also turn sharper

I want you guys to remember Ford offered Cummins diesel engines in their heavy-duty trucks from the mid-1990s to 2015
For Hector's 1st anniversary Hillbilly should wear a sombrero and crossed landowners. Then say happy anniversary mi amigo in Español.
Owen, put the lug studs in the freezer for an hour. Go in a little easier.
Dang Robbie think Hector being there for 1 year anniversary nobody knew about it and nobody seemed to care he seems to be a hard worker I think you guys should have done something for him
They did do something for him, he has a job! Just like everyone else.
The fan blades are spaced as they are to prevent humming noise.
Awesome video Guys

The fan is spaced to get your arm in there and loosen and tighten the bolts on the water pump
Cant you clock the transfer case??
Remember boys, with that grid heater in the intake you cannot use ether without disconnecting one wire first or you will blow things too a bad place.😅😅😅😅😅😅
