If extreme metal ever has plenty of fans that’ll be a sign the genre is washed up lol it’s inherently supposed to be kind of obscure. And like you said there’s a ridiculous amount of bands out. Metal probably has more physical release bands that nobody listens to than any other genre.

Great Interview! I was there that night for the Tisch. Actually I was buying some Hells Merch during this interview, heard a little live. Overall a great night of music. Saw the Dawg in his environment, seemed very relaxed. Cardiac Arrest had a damn good set! Picked up Stench of Eternity on CD from the band.
I'd like that, too, since it was my last recording with the band! Be patient, as I am sure it's in the pipeline. Cadaverous Presence was "unreleasable" on vinyl, and it happened!
Blessed is not a downgrade from Altars, it's "different" from Altars. As is Covenant from Blessed and the following two from their immediate predecessors.

Too many Death Metal fans judge Heaviness on loud production. Autopsy - Mental Funeral, and Mortician - House By the Cemetery is how Death Metal albums should all sound.

I’m kind of one of those guys from this camp. I love the first 2 records but only select songs from the 3rd record (maybe if I listened to it again my opinion would change. It has been a long time). For me the music wasn’t as heavy, the compositions weren’t as simplistic and direct as the others and the lyrics were more juvenile at times. Idk just my thoughts. I don’t hate it but I don’t love it.

Covenant is overrated, all the songs sound identical, except Angel of Disease, and God of Emptiness. The only song that I like is God of Emptiness. The rest of the album is too Mellow due to reliance on speed. Blessed Are the Sick was a much better album. Just the production was weak.
Illud is somehow a better album than Kingdoms, don't ask me how that works. But worse than the comically awful heresies of Brokeback Morbid (which were at least TOO EXTREME!!!) is the boring generic DM that's the other half of it and all of Kingdoms.
David Vincent talks in a phony deep voice to sound more macho. Morbid Angel were 1000 times better with Steve Tucker. I prefer hearing Steve Tucker sing the David Vincent material
