love me some Witchfire. If you haven't yet and you enjoy this give Remnant 2 a go as well. The last DLC just came out. Both games are very dark souls with guns. Remnant just has a ton more content currently.
The description of content and what is there to do at 7:30 is extremely lackluster for one of the most critical aspect of a game. There is much more to do than what you implied.
Minor thing to point out about the diminishing returns on leveling-up Vitality: you actually gain additional healing flask slots at certain levels of Vitality (it's not clearly indicated). So, while you aren't getting as much max HP after a while, you are still building up value by gaining more healing flasks. Otherwise, I grabbed this game last night and have been really enjoying it. :)
I am pretty sure you get elixirs based on overall level, not vitality specifically. Anyway, the leveling system is getting a rework in the next big update early 2025
One thing I did notice when the game first came out, pumping points into your stats actually make the game harder. Harder enemies started showing up, harder encounters. It almost felt counterintuitive to level your character up.
Huh? The game literally deletes your perks progression when you lose (which are chosen from random options), having to restart the whole run for the area. When you die or finish a run, if you have resources, you can spend on permanent upgrades or weapons. Literally what defines a ROGUELITE game (not to be confused with ROGUELIKE, btw). Witchfire has more Roguelite elements than most Self-called Roguelite games, which are just glorified roguelike games with no permanent progression. I would argue this game is similar to dark souls but the similarities ends in "If you die, you have a chance to grab your souls back", because you simply cannot just leave an area instantly. You have to fight for the exit portal.
I'm okay with this being solo only. Not everything has to have multiplayer. And sometimes the gameplay balancing doesn't feel right when playing co-op/pvp game in singleplayer. I'd rather a game focus on one or the other, and there are PLENTY of other mp shooters.
Idk about your normal community as this is my first time here but the fact this is solo and doesn't require a team is the MOST fantastic thing. Seems like everything nowadays is multiplayer or you can opt in solo but get destroyed by the one team that actually came to play together. 100% of team games i play have trolls and rage quiters in at least if not way more in every game.
One thing i like about this game (own it on EGS for months now) is how it takes little bits of each genre and doesn't grab too much from each avoiding potential pitfalls from each genre
Cannot recommend this game enough. Only played since the steam release and even at this point, it’s worth the money for sure! If destiny gunplay with hunt the showdown vibes sounds appealing at all I can guarantee you will love the game!
When you have full battle focus (it'll say in the chat that you're focused) and dash while looking at an enemy, an orb will pop up that you can shoot to stun them and have them take bonus damage.
Hmm I'm not sure but in my country the game is certainly NOT priced at 40usd, after converting it it's more likely priced at around 25usd. Not sure why it's cheaper in my region 🤔
Not sure why the focus on the price point. The game has 3 maps, with 3 more coming, 40 weapons, 20 or so spells, multiple bosses and puzzles on the maps, long term progression for character, weapons, spells and trinkets. Nothing about the game feels underwhelming for $40, and I've had it since it launched into EA when there was 1 map and 5 weapons.
@@alecu5885 it’s a full release game that’s been out for over a decade. This game isn’t even in 1.0 yet. Not to mention I have like 65 hours in the early access, so your judgement should maybe hold off until you’ve beaten the content it currently has.
@@isih9128 how am I biased? You can’t just claim that without any proof lol. That’s just silly. I have no stock in the game. I’m not a developer or paid to endorse it. I have 0 reason to be biased towards a game. Unless you’re trying to say that having bought and played the game is somehow equivalent to a bias. Which is honestly ridiculous because it would imply that anyone who buys a product is biased towards the product, even if they don’t like it.
i like the gameplay aside from the way you unlock most things (weapons, spells, equipment, upgrade thingies) it is such a bad system that i genuinely get discouraged continuing playing
Could really use some more sountracks to be honest, especially during combat. Kinda shocked its been out a year and has no combat music, as no matter good the combat is it all just kinda falls flat with the slow violin in the background. Also makes you feel that the map itself is empty, even if it isn't. Hard to describe just how important a good/fitting soundtrack is for a game. Looks a bit *too* early access for $40, maybe $20.
glad to see this game get a shout, really unique and engrossing!
This is where hunt showdown great ui went
the new hunt ui made me quit

For real
So early the spanish thirst bots are still here
I saw this yesterday, looks fun.

Witchfire is in early access and is only at version 0.4.3 right now... Remnant ofc has more content after 3 DLC's after it's final release.
Excellent taste in games, yo
My pc barely runs remnant 2 at 20 fps with stupidly low settings and the setting to improve it at max, game is great

I love this game, it's great. I wouldn't really say it's overpriced due to the clear polish in it so far.
This game wants me to break my "don't buy games on early access" rule

dunno if you get MORE flasks via Vitality but you def get them from overall level-ups, too. I've put only 3 points in Vit and have 4 total flasks
Aha, that makes sense. Not that I've been primarily pumping Vitality myself, but I guess I just happened to level it at the flask intervals.
One thing I did notice when the game first came out, pumping points into your stats actually make the game harder. Harder enemies started showing up, harder encounters. It almost felt counterintuitive to level your character up.
Yeah uh, the rougelite part of this game is almost null, heads up.
That's a huge pro for me but you are right to emphasize this.

This game screams for coop. I think it could be really good.
why bog a good game down with coop?

YES, it's so annoying to see every studio pressured to do multiplayer when they are building great single player games.
Its an FPS RPG with some small elements of Soulslikes, extraction and roguelite elements but its been classified by the DEVs as an FPS RPG!!
Wish there was a Coop mode

I like to describe the game as Witch Hunt by Andrii Vintsevych, meets Hunt: Showdown, but having huffed chugged almost an entire Estus Flask

Yoooo this game is awesome. I will play it but i wish i can play it with randoms 😢 but i still play it because it looks so amazing
seems cool but paying $40 to beta test a game for them seems kind of dumb
I can't believe we didn't get Faze Woojie in this video I will be ready for the next one
Not giving this a coop mode is a real failure.
Tried it, it was fun up until ammo economy became my single cause of death…
This game is also missing fighting music

40 bucks for an early access game? NO, and it doesn't matter how good it is.
