I have never been so impressed with how quickly I have learned to play 3 cords! I was shocked to find myself playing along with you! I just couldn't believe it was ME playing! I never thought I could EVER do it! With the 3 notes I've learned, I ACTUALLY accompanied my son, aged 19, who plays the piano! THANK YOU so much for making the impossible, possible!

I’ve always wanted to learn how to play the guitar, and after the video I found an instructor in my town, bought my first guitar and began a fantastic journey. I played my first song after watching one of your videos! My life now is rich with music theory, learning a myriad of scales and techniques! My gear evolved quickly too, and to be honest - I really need to thank you for the inspiration. After watching your first beginner video, I thought to myself, “I can do that! This is by far one of the best guitar tutorial series on TH-cam. I went from not understanding chords, so I would just barely play chordless songs every couple of months when bored to slowly but surely actually learning song chords and being motivated to continue!
I'm in awe of your teaching. I've tried so many beginner guitar tutorials where a "10 minute lesson" takes weeks to work through. Your lessons actually get me playing songs in minutes

Yours is 5th beginner tutorial I've watched. Others (all men)were all so busy talking & using terms I don't know yet, and they didn't take time to explain the graph charts/ diagram pics on screen I felt totally confused & wasn't learning a thing. You are a great Teacher & I Suscribed after 2nd video. I ordered a Beginner Electric Guitar kit, it will arrive in 5 days but I'm really gung-ho to learn so figured I'd get a head start. Already doing finger exercises-lol. Really thankful to discover your videos. You have restored my confidence that maybe I CAN learn to play some things. PS: I'm 71 yrs. old. An Old Dog-so Ellen, teach me some MORE new tricks please...TY
The pacing, combinations, visual guides/edits, and strumming/chord permutations have made this by far the best beginner tutorial on TH-cam. Attempted so many beginner videos on TH-cam, but finally getting it with this series!

I was just scrolling through TH-cam when I came across your first guitar lesson. I watched it and thought, "I can do it!" a few days later I bought a guitar and now I'm playing! Your video literally gave me the encouragement to learn guitar!
My music teacher just pressured me TOO hard and it wasnt even fun. It started feeling like a chore. 4 years later im here trying to learn again and its so much fun.

Hi I am going to try to learn how to play guitar because of you.1st I will get my old guitar out Learn to tune it Start from start from the beginning Thank you I think I will try to learn this.
Two things even the most patient teaching vids seem to forget, at this point the pain, especially holding strings with our pinkie and ring finger is just unbearable, and 2) We are still learning to strum the strings, skipping the top 2 is not a "day 2" skillset for anyone. I figure it will take a month to develop callouses and be able to skip strings cleanly. Love your vids so far, thanks
I have tried a a lot of ways to try and learn I am that I am 52 years old My son plays and it plays very good and he inspired me to try and play and I have been trying for over a year now and nowhere I have got nowhere until I saw you and I watched one video of yours and I'm more into it and I've learned more from you and the three or four videos that I have watched of yours then I have in the hallway not tire yet I really want to thank you for expiring me and even more because I was almost ready to give up until I saw you and you the way you too it's absolutely awesome and I have understood and stayed with it and made me want to drive more and I so appreciate you you are really good at you and want you to thank you again Sharon Allen

when i play the chords, it just doesn’t sound right. i recognize that i’m blocking out the strings, but when i press lighter, it still doesn’t help. is there a way to fix that?
First of all, it all might be your nails. Im a beginner and I have almost completely tackled this problem. Make sure that you have a proper nail cut as they can block of other string. Secondly, start very slowly. As slowly as you require. It is even fine with 10BPM. But the catch is, prevent any wrong string from being played or any other string being blocked. Hold on the strings tight and loosing them won't help but make sure you aren't too tight. And just as I said, start slow but don't do any mistakes. Slowly, your hands are themselves gonna learn the appropriate placement on the fretboard and you'll speed up yourself without making any error. But this requires patience and can take upto 2-3 weeks to learn. But if you follow this way(and practice for long enough) you'll will do this (I say this from personal experience).

Hi I am going to try to learn how to play guitar because of you.1st I will get my old guitar out Learn to tune it Start from start from the beginning Thank you I think I will try to learn this.
Two things even the most patient teaching vids seem to forget, at this point the pain, especially holding strings with our pinkie and ring finger is just unbearable, and 2) We are still learning to strum the strings, skipping the top 2 is not a "day 2" skillset for anyone. I figure it will take a month to develop callouses and be able to skip strings cleanly. Love your vids so far, thanks
I have tried a a lot of ways to try and learn I am that I am 52 years old My son plays and it plays very good and he inspired me to try and play and I have been trying for over a year now and nowhere I have got nowhere until I saw you and I watched one video of yours and I'm more into it and I've learned more from you and the three or four videos that I have watched of yours then I have in the hallway not tire yet I really want to thank you for expiring me and even more because I was almost ready to give up until I saw you and you the way you too it's absolutely awesome and I have understood and stayed with it and made me want to drive more and I so appreciate you you are really good at you and want you to thank you again Sharon Allen

when i play the chords, it just doesn’t sound right. i recognize that i’m blocking out the strings, but when i press lighter, it still doesn’t help. is there a way to fix that?
First of all, it all might be your nails. Im a beginner and I have almost completely tackled this problem. Make sure that you have a proper nail cut as they can block of other string. Secondly, start very slowly. As slowly as you require. It is even fine with 10BPM. But the catch is, prevent any wrong string from being played or any other string being blocked. Hold on the strings tight and loosing them won't help but make sure you aren't too tight. And just as I said, start slow but don't do any mistakes. Slowly, your hands are themselves gonna learn the appropriate placement on the fretboard and you'll speed up yourself without making any error. But this requires patience and can take upto 2-3 weeks to learn. But if you follow this way(and practice for long enough) you'll will do this (I say this from personal experience).
