I play these games for the action and story, so if the game has to look similar to a PS4 game to get the 60fps, then I'd happily make the sacrifice, especially when the game sounds right up my alley. And besides, if I needed pretty pictures to take, I can always do it in 1080p, or if necessary on the fidelity mode temporarily.
Honestly unless you have a 4K monitor, it’s pointless to play on graphics mode. I am a pc gamer mainly so I sink most of the gaming budget into that rig, I don’t have proper tv’s for high end console gaming as I just don’t do it enough to justify the purchase. The tv I play on right now is a 1080p 60hz and the difference is so minimal that it just doesn’t make any sense to give up the extra frames. Apparently on a proper monitor it is a significant difference from what everyone is saying. 🤷♂️
Im not really sure why the performance issues even exist in this game since part 1 had 60fps AND great graphical quality... it really is nuts how much the performance mode tanks the graphics
Because Unreal Engine 4 has problems with open world games, specially with lots of assets at the same time. FF VII Remake had pretty simple level design tbh.
you realize how big the open world is compared to the first game right? The amount of assets they have to load once you're in the world and everything is seamless. The fact that it runs at a consistent framerate too, perspective buddy.
part 1 was heavily choreographed and limited, there wasn't an open world. only small areas that could be loaded in the background. Open world is by default very taxing for performance.
I’m currently still trying to finish everything in the Junon region. I’m loving it so much so far. I’m 41 and played the original when it was new, I was in 7th grade, so it has been an absolute pleasure and a total trip to watch this game be remade on modern hardware. I liked Remake just fine, but Rebirth really shines because you’re out in larger world, and the game starts to really feel alive and expansive in a way that Remake couldn’t and felt restricted. So far awesome, I just hope we get the final entry before PS6
The performance mode is not up to par with other games but I am happy it is there because for me personally I can not play in 30fps. Even if the game looks amazing In graphics mode that’s only standing still. As soon as you move its a blurry mess and then takes away from that fidelity you are getting. 60FPS or bust for me. I’m 36 hours in and still enjoying the game thoroughly in performance mode. It’s amazing and so much fun.

@@prod_ssabi yup that's true, I meant independent of the other numbered games (FF8, FF9, etc). I still think this is a fine place to start and if someone gets hooked they can go back to remake part 1.
