From "The Office": an American television mockumentary sitcom broadcast on NBC. Created as an adaptation by Greg Daniels of the British series of the same name, it is a mockumentary that follows the day-to-day lives of the employees of the Scranton, Pennsylvania branch of Dunder Mifflin, a fictional paper supply company. The series stars Steve Carell as Michael Scott, John Krasinski as Jim Halpert, Jenna Fischer as Pam Beesly and Rainn Wilson as Dwight Schrute.

Erin felt that she didn't have the choice of saying no, but she could have said no.
She could have broke up months before the dundies.
I'd say that's just Erin's naivete talking, but considering how Gabe acts in the aftermath of the breakup, I wouldn't be shocked if he planted/fostered that idea in her mind.
Yeah, it's actually a very common form of harassment to feel like your jib is threatened if you rehect your superior's advances
She could’ve said no to the start. Tbh gabe was fine but he was a bit controlling and didn’t really care about Erin’s interests.

It was such a cringe-worthy relationship but much like the actors for Ryan and Kelly, Zach Woods and Ellie Kemper really sell it in their performances, playing very odd characters in an unromantic and unhealthy relationship.
It really is impressive how well they played the character as serious but comedically bad. Like this would come off too cartoony in a bad actors hands.

The way Erin dumped Gabe was brutal, but 100% justified. Gabe has been shown to be manipulative (whether consciously or unconsciously) and Erin often struggles to assert herself. Even the way they got together was pretty skeezy- Gabe asked out his subordinate and Erin felt she couldn’t say no to her boss. I’m sure that, if she broke up with him privately, Gabe would have pressured her into staying.
It’s a pattern we see with the men who are interested in Erin- they all, to some degree, take advantage of Erin’s naivety and overwhelming desire to be loved. Pete’s the only exception to this, and luckily the one she ends the show with.

I love how she recalls a halloween party that he takes her to and starts the story off with “i was crying…” and paused and he still didn’t know which party she was referring to until she said “..and I didn’t stop crying.” Lmfaooo any stories they tell about their relationship (off-screen) seem EVEN CRINGIER

The scene with "Shut up about the sun" made me realise that he is a miserable guy and he was his own weakness. Andy was the chad that deserved Erin.

Until they ruined Andy. Pete seemed really sweet tho with the scene where Kevin accidentally messed up the card pyramid. If anyone knows about any bad Pete scenes, I need them for…reasons.
Andy and Erin were a good match, until the writers buried Andy.

Someone who appreciates darkness and/or Japan, yeah. As socially inept as Gabe was, he was 100% prepared to care for someone… just not Erin. Not at all.
I don't think so.
The fact that he has no clue he's being invasive (or does he? It doesn't matter, it's the same outcome either by him being conscious or not of this behaviour) nor has he any empathy towards Erin... he's just not capable of being empathic, it's something you either are or you aren't, it has nothing to do with the person you relate to, and to me this is the #1 thing for both people to make a relationship be functional and loving (these last two words - functional and loving - go without saying in a relationship for really empathic people - not the ones who say they are and aren't, there are also those out there. Beware of "cognitive empathy", it looks like the real deal but is absolutely NOTHING like it).

I Don't know who wants hear this but Zach woods (the actor who played Gabe) is so adorably handsome he could play any live action disney prince and nail it.
I don't know how Gabe's expertise in using chopsticks will convince Erin to come back to him.

I never understand why the writers paired them up because it was clear Erin was never attracted to him. It was a challenge being touched by him summed it up perfectly.
*Gabe. I think that they wanted to recycle the Pam, Roy, Jim love triangle again with Erin, Gabe and Andy. They later did the exact same thing with Erin, Andy and Pete.
@@augustinensang3109 no, Roy was just not a good fiancé and Jim and Pam had their eyes on each other from the pilot. Andy was just nervous, but Gabe is creepy and unattractive. Erin thought she had no choice but to go out with him. She’s sweet but not the sharpest knife in the drawer 😂

I agree a little bit. Like as a fan I didn't really want the plots that happened a bit later on in the series. Love Erin tho and I like that they shined light on young girls in business and how bosses should acknowledge the power imbalance when making moves on an employee. She's young and learns to stand up for herself even if it is brutal how she breaks up with him. Older men especially when you're not matured by life yet can be pretty scary and Gabe was definitely manipulative. Can lead to a lot of vengful anger when you grow from a girl to a woman and realise how and who took advantage of your naivety even when they knew better. Anyways lol just chatting away at 5 am watching the office shorts don't mind me
@@breathing_helium_art I agree with most of what you said. Her breakup with Gabe was indeed brutal. From comments dropped here and there, they sort of implied that Gabe was with prostitutes and he also made comments about being told he was a ‘great hugger’ which implied that’s as far as women would let him get. I will give the Gabe character credit for having a very nice apartment in Viewing Party and he also seemed to know how to provide food to his guests😂😂

His facility acting is so awkward he's seriously not that awkward in the new space show he's just so weird but he's acting it's hard to tell being he does it so well !

1:19 Ok I know Gabe is meant to be cringe but if you like horror even a little bit I highly highly recommend Suspiria (1977). It’s a psychedelic Italian horror that is, in my opinion, one of the best of the genre, period.
It’s actually funny that Erin mentions color when brining up Wall-E. I’d argue Suspiria is actually more colorful.
But it is a totally different vibe of course.
