    Can we get one for the F-18? Honestly I cannot function in enemy controlled airspaces because I don’t know when someone fired a missile. Thanks

    Lemme translate this real quick.
    0:04 - You're entering the F7ck Zone
    0:13 - You might get f7cked
    0:26 - You get f7cked up real quick
    0:35 - *YOU'RE TOTALLY F7CKED*
    There. Now you understand the RWR Basic

      I'd say that you're totally F-ed if your RWR goes quiet, cus that means your plane's systems are failing

    any way to tell the difference between ir/rdr SAMs? besides memorizing SAM types on the RWR. thanks for this btw.

    • @piketchupwarthog3574
      @piketchupwarthog3574  5 ปีที่แล้ว +22

      The RWR will indicate numbers for radar sources only, so yes you will need to memorize those radar-guided SAMs. IR SAMs however are passive sensors, so you will NOT get a lock-on warning. The Missile Warning System (MWS) may detect the launch plume, but if you're unlucky it may be in the sensor's blindspot and you won't get a warning.
      My rule is if you get a sudden, surprise launch warning with a single M circle, it is either an IR SAM or some dumb pubbie forgot to call rifle lol. The only exceptions are air threats, which may actively lock you but chose to fire an IR missile (R-27T/ET, R-73), and the *SA-13 Gopher Strela-10*, which will lock with 13 on RWR for a few seconds b4 launch.

    0:44 IR gets a missile launch tone?

    • @piketchupwarthog3574
      @piketchupwarthog3574  ปีที่แล้ว +5

      The A-10C has Missile Warning System (MWS) which can detect the launch plume and burning motor of a missile. Any missile launch will trigger a warning, including friendly missile launches [at anything else]

      I don't exactly remember if they changed the SA-3's floor, but yes a.) going under a SAM's tracking radar floor, b.) masking yourself inside a valley, c.) putting something between you and the radar all works. Note however that each SAM has different ceiling and floor, newer more capable ones typically have floors only feasible by a helicopter
