Mike, just to clarify… your dive curves for 1/8oz jigs are measuring the “feet back” from the surface of the water down to the bait, not the rod tip to bait (or casting distance.) Precision Trolling Data app shows to reach 20fow you need 6# mono (.009 dia) at .75mph with an eighth ounce jig and 2” twister tail and your line needs to be 58ft back. That’s 58’ from the surface of the water down to the bait. We fish 1/8oz jigs just like you are in this video. Depending on how high we we set our rod tips we may have as much as 40’ of line out before the line enters the water. At a full cast and running 1mph we are lucky to get the jigs to hit bottom in 10fow. We just do a lot of experimenting to get a feel for our target jig depth. Short of running planner boards or somehow marking your line (maybe with a bobber stop) dive curves are not an exact science. I’m trying to get better at it myself. Spider rigging makes a lot of sense when it comes to precision. I can see why so many people do it.

It's hard for me to believe the lack of boats. I live on Chickamauga and every day looks like a boat show, it's fished to death. The lake quality is going down very fast. They'll wait a few years then be back to destroy it again. The worst thing that can happen to a lake is to become ranked. Every politician having anything to do with fishing tournaments is being voted out of office. The mayor was the most recent to go. Dayton aka Bass Town is becoming a ghost town.
