Awesome. Don't sell your accomplishment short. Earning 30k a year from doing something that you actually enjoy doing is very impressive when you consider the fact that there are a lot of people who earn less than that every year doing things that they don't enjoy doing. Continued success to you.

This is motivation bro! I just made 1k off of my music (because of spotify, a youtube with a million subs liked one of my songs and added it to her playlist) and thats something I never thought I'd be able to do. How were you able to determine when you're beats were "good enough" in your own mind to where you felt comfortable putting them out for sale? I constantly have it in my head that my tracks are "never ready" if that makes sense.
The day I started my beat store I made it a goal to upload every beat that I finished to my beat store, whether they were "good enough" or not. I've sold tons of beats that I didn't think were "good enough" but others liked them. What you like isn't what somebody else likes and vice versa, so it's better to upload everything cause you never know.
@@Kbeats6 imma bad perfectionist, sometimes I have to shut down my laptop in fear stuff won't be good enough. At first I thought I lacked patience but really it's the feeling of needing everything to be perfect thats holding me back.
blesss! could you make one on (leveling)mixing - gain (dB) levels before saving as mp3 format and testing in the car?! you’ve mentioned before and will agree that master is not a necessity as long as mix is right.
Are your beats registered, and do you have a contact agreement with your clients , also do your beats have samples , there are a lot of things you have to look out for
AQ Majali You will have to sign up for a Performing rights organization. The most common ones are BMI or ASCAP. Your PRO will give you the info you need to ensure you get your percentage of royalties
Register with a PRO for performance Royalties...for example: I am with BMI. I place beats with artists who have a movement going and live off of their work. The process: when a song is completed (fully mastered ready for release) They should be sent to Nielson BDS database to track radio spins. Registered with a PRO to track digital plays...(I feel like i'm leaving something else out) ...Soundscan helps collect money as well. But every quarter the PRO will send you a check based off of the numbers that song has done. They have tiers of payment as well. So the person who has a hit record, get paid at a higher percentage than the person who doesn't. Maybe DJ Pain 1 can or has explained this. There's info on it at BMI.com . There's also a royalty percentage you can get from an album. So you place a record on an album and the album sells a million copies 1 point is 1 percent, if I'm remembering this correctly, so you would get 1 percent of that albums sell AFTER they've recouped the loss of your advance. I'm no expect so don't hold my word true. I've been in a cave for a while rebuilding my brand lol So I placed four beats this year, two with Mark Battles and the other two with Lil Zane. I've already received royalties from Mark Battles's project....in a nutshell...if the artist you're shopping beats to doesn't really have a movement...don't expect much from royalties.

@@philip-at-tube Interesting idea. Sort of like a manager I suppose. I should try grow myself as an artist a bit more prior to doing that. I'm sure I'll get there on day, hopefully soon.
Good luck waiting forever... Quality don't matter nowadays... Make it lauder and lauder and more banging 😂 😂 😂
yo Chris I been watching your youtube for a while now and I can say this video is my favorite one thus far. I been producing for 3 years and I'm still trying to crack the code on the business and branding aspect. This video gives me inspiration to keep going. Thank you
I'm glad. Thank you!
My man, how do you deal with sample clearance?
Thanks for this man , this really motivated me to work harder as a producer and hip hop artist
Woooo! That's what I like to hear.
Question: you have a secondary job or are you fully relying on your beats for money?
Also your grind is so inspiring, y'all gonna get many many more subs in the next few years I know it
I'm taking care of my grandmother full time, so I get a small check from that every two weeks.

Thank you for your transparency and honesty, a lot of people try to avoid the subject or mystify the topic.
Thank you!
Man I wish somebody bought my beat. Not because of the money, but because it would mean somebody cares. I make super good quality beats and I only charge 5$

My beloved Lil bro!!!! As you already know, I love the honesty, transparency & shared-knowledge that all your videos provide. BUT THIS VIDEO HERE? young bruh... you out-did yourself. This was even better than the Pat Ryan interview where you had him divulge some funds-making producer knowledge.
I have another TH-cam page that has a little over 13K subscribers, and we ain't doing ANYTHING to promote it....yet!! But we also have over 300,000 followers on facebook (We've been in the game for a minute). I want to convert those facebook followers over to TH-cam followers. And YOU just absolutely inspired me to stop fuckin' around and finally DO IT!! Sometime in the New year I'm gonna holla at you for some insight.... and maybe we can help each other I'm sure. But I just want to say... keep doing you, Lil bro!! You deserve ALL the blessings the creator is bringing to you. The best is yet to be for you. Thank you for this video.
a legend in the making
thanks for the kind words
I cant say, i can do what you did. I do want to say "THANK YOU" for sharing YOUR experience.
Thank you for watching!
Thank you for this brother... Been producing for about 5 years, 1 year seriously now going hard at it and I've been wondering how I can finally start making an ROI.. This is what I was looking for. Cheers!
Awesome man! I’m also doing lots of tutorials, such a great feeling to help other people create better music!
i love these kinds of videos because so many producers don't show or share this kind of information. thank you man. happy thanksgiving
I’m glad you can take something from this video. Happy thanksgiving to you as well. Thanks for the positivity
ChrisPunsalanTV i was just wondering, do you have a video on marketing beats?
You truly deserve it! You've been working really hard. Keep pushing!
Thank you

This was awesome man, I’m so happy to see this. I’ve been wanting to get into producing and I hoped to try to sell beats to help me pay to make music, and this makes it seem worthwhile. 🙌🏻
