  • Shapr3D is the professional 3D CAD to run on an iPad. It provides a precise way to create 3D models with a revolutionary experience.
    It’s much different from others 3D CAD software. The first is in its mobility. Now, with the iPad and Apple Pencil, you can design anywhere, anytime.
    In this video, I will use Shapr3D to model bolt and nut. Video content is for demonstration purposes only, not for use instructions.
    For any suggestions, please feel free to leave a comment.
    Thanks for watching!

    My father taught me this on a basic level when I was a kid. It was all on paper with rulers, compasses, Bézier shapes, whatnot. It still amazes me how to design a bolt and nut is actually as much work as designing a nice armchair.

    ‏Hello, what should we do if we want to attach a piece to another piece that we have designed? I mean, I am designing two models on one page and I want to glue them together so that when I print them with a 3D printer, one piece will be printed that is completely glued together. Please help me, thank you.

    The tutorial was very informative. Where can we find fastener libraries that can import to the Pro version?

    • @NCADStudio

      Unfortunately, Shapr3D Pro doesn't have that fastener library either. You have to build the model yourself or import it from other software.

  • @marcosarb80

    Muy buen video para ver la técnica con la app, pero si intentas imprimir ese tornillo y tuerca , jamas enroscaran ya que cuando se hace la extrusión la rosca del tornillo y tuerca es tan perfecto que no encajan. Se debería de poder desfasar las caras de ambos para quitar una centésima a cada uno( turca tornillo) . Pero la app no lo permite, da fallo.
    No se si existe otra manera como en fusion 360 que podrías poner hasta la métrica.
    Espero que me digáis una solución ya que la app es fantástica.

    • @NCADStudio
      @NCADStudio  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Marcos Arboleya! I think you can use the "offset face" function to resize the bolts and nuts so they can screw together. Or draw profiles for bolts and nuts separately.

    • @NCADStudio
      @NCADStudio  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi StormArteria! I think it's too tight because my model doesn't leave a gap between the threaded part of the bolt and the nut. You need to have some tolerance between the parts, as Mark commented below.

    • @bluddywulf6796
      @bluddywulf6796 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Aaron Mac! I am sorry for that. Can you tell more whether the nut is larger or smaller than the bolt? I think it's too tight because my model doesn't leave a gap between the threaded part of the bolt and the nut.

    • @marzouk1577
      @marzouk1577 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You need to have some tolerance between the parts. 0.2 - 0.35 mm depending on how much the filament shrinks

    • @thecutmaster
      @thecutmaster ปีที่แล้ว

      @@marzouk1577 And so, on Shaper3D, how did you do that ? Do you have "only" to enlarge the nut by 0.35mm ? Or is it something more complex ?

    • @davidsloyer8822
      @davidsloyer8822 ปีที่แล้ว

      @thecutmaster this is my question because although the video is extremely informative and very professional workflow > if it will not print or thread correctly, my challenge is not solved. Should there be a slight taper on the bolt?
      My only critique is the threads are reversed (left-threaded), was this printed and tested?
