    the multimeter isnt wrong the letter J on the first resistors indicate a precentage and that precentage basically shows you that the resistor is not perfect J stands for ±5% of the written number which would be 9 to 11 ohmi also dont touch the wire while measuring it your body has a resistence aswell and it can affect the measurment and cause it to be wrong

    Thank you for this video. I think that by building these components you really understand the processes behind them much better than just reading about them. We need more teaching like this.

    Hi ,how can i make sure i get the desired ohms capaicty resistor ? Should I wind more wire on the graphite to get more ohms? how much thickness Aluminium wire should be used ?

    • @joyofelectronics9782
      @joyofelectronics9782  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, no you can’t get desired ohm value in that way. You have to adjust thickness and length of the graphite rod. But if you want to get a value more than 10 ohms you should use something else instead of graphite or very less conductive graphite based material 👍

    Interesting video and channel! I am curious, why would someone spend time making a resistor that can be otherwise be purchased for 4 cents each? (or for 1.5 cents each in quantity) Just sayin'. Reminds me of TH-cam video where a woman shows how to make pulp and then use an iron to make it into a piece of paper, an item which can be purchased for under a penny. My motto: Time = Money

      Thanks for sharing time to leave a comment here though you think time=money. First of all also think time is precious and even more valuable than money. When it comes to your comment: 1. There is no clickbait in the title so, you could have skipped the video. 2. Yes, resistors have really low cost you can buy easily. But rather than having something with a low price understanding the basis of it is more important. This makes you innovative while purchasing makes you only a consumer. 3. In the video l haven’t suggested you to not buy resistor but do it yourself l’ve just tried to show you how they are made and how you can make one in case of need. Anyway thanks for your comment, though.

      In a pinch, a homemade resister is faster than ordering online. You can also purchase nichrome wire to make resisters.

      I imagine that some people find joy in creating as many components as possible. It can also help others learn the concepts of radio and electronics by hands on learning, instead of just reading about it in a book.

      Everything you need to know is in the video. The carbon rod is the conductive material with a high tolerance for heat and built in resistance. Use bigger wires going into a bigger carbon rod, covered with more isolation paper, slide inside a bigger protective sleeve (he used plastic here), use more super glue to cap it off, and measure the resistance.
