I worked in Steamboat during a year they got a record breaking 500 inches of snow. Needless to say, best time of my life. Nowhere else in Colorado matches their powder snow quality. Blower

Hi. I can see you are rocking the clew on bindings on a Burton custom board. I just recieved my very own clew bindings and mounted them on my Burton good company board. I have tried them on in my living room just to test, and I can feel a little play when I shift from heel to toe. Just wanted to ask if you have had any issues with that. Greetings from Norway

This was this past week??
I'm planning a snowboard trip out to CO for the first time roughly in Jan. Hope the crowd is low and snow is great at that time.
1. Would you say doing a solo trip is feasible in CO, cost-wise and social vibe of the mountain? (i.e. if I were not to rent a car and take local public buses)
2. For roughly 1 week would you recommend I visit multiple resorts (and base myself in Denver) or stick to ~2 resorts? I have the Ikon pass. Unfortunately, it seems the resorts arent close together and public transportation doesnt seem as accessible. Is there a better town to better access all these resorts with bus systems?
Well, it’s Colorado so crowds will always be large. And unless you got a private jet money you’re driving from resort to resort still absolutely worth it and I would say try and split it between two resorts or if you want more than that you could stay around Breckenridge and Keystone. There’s a bunch of ski resorts all within half an hour of each other there.
Try and go later in january. The snow is usually the best around that time. You could stay somewhere in summit county. You'd have access to Copper, which is pretty busy, and A-basin, which is much less busy, but has some real good terrain. In summit county, there is a free bus system that can get you to either resort. If you want more variety though, you could go up to either winter park or steamboat. Not exactly sure about pass availability at those resorts is, so it'd be wise to check on the ikon website.
@@busteman Great info thanks! Am i able to access winter park and steamboat by a reliable bus sytem from the summity county? (yes I can use Ikon at those places, the 4 places you mentioned are where I had in mind)
And as a side question, have you gone on solo trips to these regions? Know anything in terms of housing cost of summit county vs denver for solo? I recently learned they have hostels in the US (I know its not the same but I love the hostel culture in Europe).
Denver is much further away from the ski areas than it seems, especially since the only road into the mountains is always jammed with traffic. It can take hours sometimes. You can still get decent prices using Airbnb or hostels in the mountains. I paid only $80 a night for an Airbnb where it was an apartment with a kitchen, in summit county. Unfortunately bus travel to steamboat and winter park from there is not as common, but seems possible from an online search. Summit county has an entire bus system so it’s accessible, but the crowds are very high. I think it’s worth to try and rent a car to be able to go to many ski areas easily, it’s pretty rural and spread out in the mountains here, and of course very car centric because it’s the US
