    Nice bit of fabrication there with the new fan shroud. It made a big difference to the overall look of the bike. And that 60's chopper fishtail exhaust sounds awesome. Your vids are firmly entrenched as part of my Sunday routine. Hope you keep doing them for many years to come.

    I'm getting to like those red-brick tyres! They really do pick up on the red detail of the frame and chain guard. I'm glad you built a new fan shroud from scratch too - it wouldn't look right, trying to spin the engine over in the wrong direction. The handmade steel shroud is much more in keeping with the bike, and with your handicraft. The exhaust is pretty neat too, looks the part, and makes the engine sound more like a bike engine.
    I can hardly wait to see you riding this creation, and the big wide smile that I just know is coming.

    Some school needs to confer upon Mustie an honorary degree in "repurpose industrial design". Heck, he could teach a graduate course. That Industrial streamline in the original bike now has a lot of supporting accents and engine true to the original style. The welding of the pull start/fan cover was absolutely beautiful.

    Coming along nicely. Make Rear Fender supports match front ones. Chain guard needed Both chains, at least as far back as tire on the powered one.
    Remove a hand grip, loosen bolt and slide out handlebars and reverse them so you are looking forward and they are upward as designed.
    You might consider a Gusset plate on that seat pipe unless it is Sched. 40. Cut the bottom off the rectangular can and use it for filter housing. Mount vertical. A small polished disc of Al or SS on the centre of the recoil. Or Vehicle emblem.
    M-B? Harley 1 !

      None of the others would do! The pull start was in the wrong direction. Doesn't matter with two stroke but this is a 4 STROKE. May have to have a muffler box in the exhaust to lower the noise level to get a plate or
      may get pulled over.

    Nice bit of fabricating there, looks great. A copper/steel/brass medallion in the center of the pull start housing would look cool, or maybe cut a circle from an old sign or can. I like the exhaust, but would like to see it looped tighter at the engine....something seems a bit off there...maybe it extends too close to the frame. ........But what do I know? Friggin armchair mechanic here : )

    • @jaym1301
      @jaym1301 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Agreed. The exhaust header should have a sharper bend at the top (if doing that wouldn't ruin the exhaust scavenging) and less of one at the bottom so it parallels the frame. It shouldn't stick out in front like that. It just doesn't look that well the way it is.

    Your bicycle generator reminded me of one I had out in CA in the early 70s. I was coasting down the Big Bear Mountain highway at about 40 mph, when I hit a bump, and the generator engaged. Can you believe I blew out both the front and rear bulbs. I guess I needed a voltage regulator at high speeds.

    • @David-yo5ws
      @David-yo5ws 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I had a reminder too. Going down a steep hill on a paper round in the rain, the wires came out of the front light. I didn't want them to 'jam' in the spokes , (thought I am on a bike with rubber tyres: won't get an electric shock). I grabbed the exposed wires with my hand and AC surged through me and I couldn't let it go! I did the AC 'dance' !! I thought "How do I get out of this?" Pulled the wires up and they came out of that GIGAWATT generator. Had a sore arm for a wee while. LOL I can understand how your lights blew...

    I think small, leather saddle bags would look cool. You will need to choose the color scheme. Maybe match the brick red with black? Find black bags and attach a leather "emblem" that is like the old Indian motorcycle logo? Make it match the tank. I just noticed the exhaust wont allow a bag on the left. That exhaust does sound great!

    The belt drive tranny for those 49 cc are way better. Another must for those in to adjust the valves to .003 on the intake and .004 for the exhaust. You will absolutely notice an improvement. You can't go wrong with a Mustie video, always entertaining and you will learn a few things along the way. I love your bike builds. Always one of a kind, no 2 alike. Please keep the videos coming.

    Great Job! The bike is SWEET! To bad we live on opposite ends of the country, I would make you an offer for it you could not refuse. Great Job!!

    Sunday’s: The best part of waking up, is Mustie and a cup😉✌🏼Man have you been busy! I just love all the intricacies, doo dads and oddities you always add in to these bike builds. Final inspection is kinda like playing “Where’s Waldo” every time with all that you incorporate into them, always so cool!

    Liked the custom metal Fan Shroud...and the dynamo brought back some fond memories of my youth...The Engineer in me wants to fabricate a steady bearing for the end of that long output sprocket shaft..There are two threaded holes on the engine you could use to bolt it to....🤔🤔🤔👍😷
