I recorded a whole section talking about him playing the Human Torch again but the end result was how unlikely it is so I cut it I’m putting this on the record in the rare case that he actually does return as him 😭
Let’s be real hydra cap in the comics wasn’t really popular decision but adapting it for the movies and doing it better could be actually interesting and if they pay it off I would be all for that.
Having the new avengers vs evil avengers sounds like a pretty cool idea for Doomsday, i wonder how the Fantastic Four and maybe X-men could get tied into this.
As much as I do think we'll probably see a multiverse variant of regular Cap Rogers in Secret Wars...this is Doomsday. The article specifically said Doomsday. So yeah, this has to be something different. And I think your pitch of using Steve as a Hydra version to show that Sam IS Captain America and could even beat Steve is such a good pitch
Love it bro . Steve as hydra cap sounds awesome asf . The OG Steve should stay dead . There is no point in bringing old good steve back just for fanservice . Hydra Steve vs Sam wilson cap has so much potential for emotional drama . Imagine bucky and sam vs evans' hydra cap . Count in Walker too . I can see this happening tbh .
This sounds good but it would be so much better if it was the same thing with Superior Iron man. The new team of Avengers forms to try to stop all the Kangs appear. At some point the new Avengers meet an alternate universe version of the original avengers other than probably Thor. The alternate universe Avengers promise to save the mutiverse. Throughout the movie though, we slowly learn each member was working for Kang other than Iron Man. The 616 Avengers have enough faith in Iron man that they think he will make the ultimate sacrifice again and stop the Kangs, just like the one he made in Endgame. When he goes to make the sacrifice though, he instead kills the kangs and makes Battleworld on his own.
I love your pitch! Captain Hydra is an amazing character. I feel like I hear the wrong arguments all the time about why RDJ playing Doom is a “good idea” and why Sam Wilson “shouldn’t be Captain America”. However you have some really good ideas and points. I would love to see an evil Cap variant in the Doomsday movie! Well done! I love the Secret Empire story! I hope this is exactly what happens in the new movie. Probably my second choice would be Chris Evans plays the Human Torch again though because he’s funny in that role and it won’t damage the great ending that we got for Steve Rogers and I agree with you that it should be preserved!
This is a great pitch, one of the few story pitches that actually makes use of Sam Wilson's character, which is obviously important considering he's supposed to be one of the main characters. Given that there's no time to set up Doom proper, it actually makes a lot of sense they're using a sort of "evil avengers" approach to quickly give the heroes an actual connection to the villains (Spiderman with RDJ Doom, Sam with evil cap, etc).
Coming from a Captain America fan too, I feel like the biggest issue with bringing back Chris Evans as even a variant of Steve, is that there will be no fight against Sam that will have a satisfying ending. If Steve wins, we all hate Sam because he's not the real Cap, but if Same wins (unless Marvel really steps up their writing and direction quality from the last 5 years), it's not going to feel like an authentic win. I really Sam's character, but I think he's damned either way if he fights Steve.
with this new reveal it has me wondering if they’re attempting to bring the og 6 back as a the multiversal masters of evil 12:50 i shoulda just shut my mouth and kept watching
Hear me out. Brave New World, Post Credit scene. Sam has Bucky over, few beers, explaining what he’s done over the movie. Then u hear a door open. “On your left” Chris evans walks in, holding a DIFFERENT SHIELD, and a NEW SUIT. Camera pans in on his face, and he smirks. EVERYONE IS HYPE FOR DOOMSDAY
I think he could be just old Steve again and play a big player role, as like a mentor or some leader (like how in the comics he was in the comics after he lost the serum) but that doesn’t feel like a one-off. But also I think this whole pitch sounds pretty great, except for the fact that RDJ should’ve been Superior Iron-Man instead of Doom.
Yeah I didn’t get too much into RDJ here since I talked about it in another video but I hate that he isn’t Superior. It writes itself and they chose Doom for shock value
I think the coolest Evans return would be him returning the stones and getting wrapped up into this story. I can see that being part of Secret Wars. For Doomsday I can see him playing Hydra Cap. If Doomsday involves Doctor doom traveling to other universes, I can also see him playing miscellaneous other variants thru out the multiverse
Also, in that case, make it super comicbooky, and after a fight with sam and buck his face with him, evily laughs, pulling his face off, making him look like a red skull.
Just have the OG Avengers all playing Doctor Doom. I don't care. I'm also less and less excited for the movie every announcement we get. I didn't mind that RDJ was Doom. I truly did not care. I was just confused why we're getting Doom as the big bad instead of Kang, who has already had almost as much screentime as Thanos had throughout the Infinity Saga with the various different versions we've seen. I'm cautiously optimistic for the movie, but I'm more cautious than anything else.
they should bring the whole og avengers rooster back as villians from some alternate reality and the new avengers fight them and loose and villians take over thus the entire MCU gets buried they unalive everyone including themselves
I'm neither confident, excited, nor interested in announcement of popular middle-aged white guys returning to the silver screen in the MCU. Their characters' What If...? appearances were good enough. This is a cash grab, and Marvel's recent track record doesn't make it seem like anything else. Why else announce the actors' return like this?? The MCU is dead for this reason.
To me the best way this goes is multiversal masters of evil as you said and for me the best thing would be doomsday ending with the real doom (hopefully played by an actual Romani actor) killing rdj doom akin to the way doom killed thanos (in I believe secret wars 2015)
Chris will hold the record by playing 3 different Marvel Comics iconic characters. My guess is he'll return to the fold in a bait n switch rug pull introduction a la his Captain America fake-out to blow our mind holes his return as Johnny MFin' Storm. I know Kevin Feige and the Russo's won't be able to help themselves and want to top Deadpool-Wolverine one-upping it. So my really dark horse against all odds pick for what role Evans will be inhibiting will be .... The Red Skull, but not the MCU one we already know, but when he speaks, it'll be with an Italian accent and that's when we realize this is the Italian Red Skull, the one from that unreleasable version, pulled from its original theatrical opening day drop, pivoted straight to oblivion's 1990s first 'modern' Captain America movie. A super low budget train wreck that looks like a home movie spliced together with a student film reedit with repurposed stock footage of local tourist traps from an 80's travelogue show where entire chunks of running time with our main on-screen heroes look sus, as if the real actors finally realized the POS career killer they were doing so the leading principal actors bolted from set, never to return, taking all the talent, respect, integrity, intrigue or any spec of a trace remaining somewhere inside of them to reignite the shred of a flick of least some twitching sign of life or semblance that is the will to live but really just long for the sweet sweet release soul crushing death will being. This seems like some new groundbreaking level of cinema hell or Satan creating the game changer home video experience of classy erotic thrillers and then turning them into utter hot trash or SkinAMaxxx, if you prefer, but prestige pictures, all the same .Or rebranded as early beta test MCU dry run only without ability, passion or quality control to create this so-called super team torture porn monstrosity if the film school was taught by Ed Wood and produced by a rack. If the rack was retarded and gay. No judgements. Except the entire film, production and its legacy. Yeah, THAT Italian Red Skull. Evans will finally give that done dirty original pass at that zany kooky nazi who did nothing but just yelled his communist anti-American propaganda gobbleligook. So leave that all in and all that's left then is to stand back and let Chris just cook.
I cut a section about that out of the video! I just came to the conclusion that it would be a little derivative of Deadpool & Wolverine but it isn’t unlikely
Unlike Tony Stark, Steve in the MCU is still alive and his story is not over yet. He is still doing something somewhere in this universe, we just don't know where and what. And if we take into account what is best for this character, then the most optimal option is to bring him back as the old Captain America. Because if we assume that in this movie the multiverse "dies", and what remains of it Doom forms into the Battleworld, then it turns out that the old Steve Rogers will simply die off-screen. And even if the Avengers restore everything in Secret Wars, he will no longer have a place there, because Marvel will probably take a new actor. And I think that the death of such a legendary character off-screen would be very disrespectful. Therefore, I suggest that he returns to Doomsday first as a mentor and consultant for the new Avengers. Because who better to plan a strategy for a multiverse battle than a warrior who lived in three different time periods, on two different timelines and spent most of his life fighting different wars?! But later, when they all find out that Doom looks just like Tony, Steve will decide to enter the battle as Cap. Strange will of course explain that appearance in the multiverse does not matter, but knowing Steve, he will not listen to this. Because if there is even a small chance that somewhere deep down, Victor could be like Tony, then Steve will decide to take the risk and "save" him. And here you can prescribe a conflict both in the team and between Sam and Steve. Because for the new Avengers, Tony is of course a legend, but not as close as for the original Avengers. And Sam will have a question for Steve: "Why did you give me that shield if you continue to be Captain America?". And this is where something will happen that will make the Avengers lose again. They will split up again. Cap will secretly gather Thor, Vision, Hulk, Hawkeye, War Machine and Spider-Man and take them to Doom to try to talk him out of it. But Doom obviously won't stop and then Cap will lead his team into the final battle. And he will die on the battlefield as a hero, saving his friends from a bad guy who looks like one of his best friends. This will finally convince everyone that there is no way back for Doom, so in Secret Wars, the Avengers will get revenge on him not only for the multiverse, but also for Cap, which will make their conflict more personal. P.S. And old Cap will definitely be able to fight well, because Isaiah Bradley is supposedly about a hundred years old, and he still has super strength and skills. Steve is definitely younger than him, so I can believe that he is still capable of throwing a couple of bad guys.
It shows how desperate Marvel is. It was already pathetic to bring RDJ back. His death in Endgame means nothing now. It already didnt for it was only a movie but OK. But bringing Evans back only shows that Marvel doesnt have confidence in their ongoing franchises. And in the actors portraying the new characters. Leave the old crew be and dont put your faith in yesterday...

And the whole “if being white isn’t important to their character then why does it matter” argument is stupid bc again if it was the other way around people would be furious. I also hate how when people complain about certain races being heavily underused/misrepresented bc you can pretty much say that about any race and ethnicity and you can’t possibly expect them to represent every single race.
If they have RDJ playing someone completely different like doom, Evan’s and the other og 6 should play random ass characters like Taskmaster for Evan’s
My problem with the idea of Chris Evans playing Hydra Captain America is that having the good Avengers fight the evil Avengers sounds like a really stupid and lazy idea. It also almost completely removes the meaning of calling the film "Avengers Doomsday" if RDJ's Doom's big plan for that film is to assemble a multiversal Masters Of Evil operating as the evil Avengers. How is the audience expected to take Doom seriously if his plan is something straight out of comic fanfiction? And it makes the shock of RDJ playing Doom even more odd, because if he's assembling an evil version of the Avengers, why is he playing Doctor Doom instead of Superior Iron Man?
He should be playing Superior Iron Man, it’s ridiculous that he isn’t, but we need to embrace more comic book ideas. Not everything has to be so serious
