By far the best YT golf club review channel. No one else gives you all this factual data in this clear format. When my 2021 T100S irons are worn out, I'll be looking at the PXG CB's or Takomo 201's
Great job as usual Senior golfer 76 fairly low swing speed playing Gen 6 0311XP my gaps are 90+,105,115,125,135,145 G thru 6 the G,P,9,8 stop fine have to play some roll out with my 7 and 6. I built the 6 with and extra 2 degrees of loft. Shafts are Recoil senior flex F2. Hope this info is helpful.
Cheers from Norcal
Happy Holidays
Fantastic comparative review. You’ve taken TH-cam content to the next level. Very well done!
Thanks Jim, after some less than constructive comments recently it's nice to hear some kind positive feedback 👍
Very in-depth video. Great 👍
Glad you enjoyed it Kevin 👍
Great video! Where do the CB and T rank amongst all tested clubs?
There are nearly 50 irons on the database now showing the Heat Map forgiveness for Toe, Low and Heel strikes. Also have all the Advanced Data showing how the club works for Face Speed, Spin Rate and Launch Factor. Radar Charts to easily visually see areas to compare irons and also other really impressive tools to check to see at what point certain irons from manufacturers become non functional. If anyone wants Access to this, then its all stored on the new website www.askgolfnut.com. You can gain access to this by becoming a TH-cam Member by clicking JOIN 👍
I have Gen 7 P and love them. Also play Miz 245 Pro and love them
Robert you just love playing golf with any clubs 😊👍👍
Another outstanding comparison video. I used to play the PXG Gen 3 P but found that as my swing improved that it launched too high and was too punitive on low hits. Those CB irons would have been a very good choice for me. Those heat maps are awesome.
Glad you like them. There's a fair bit of work that goes into making everything for the reviews 👍
I've had the CBs since they came out and have been telling everyone they are one of the best clubs on the market. I'm glad to see I wasn't crazy. Great video
You definitely wasn't crazy! They are a great choice of irons....... prefer the ST's though 😉😉😊👍👍
Excellent work
Appreciate it 👍👍
Just getting back into golf after injury starting out with a set of 2021 T300's but looking forward to moving into a set of Gen4 0311T's I have waiting as the feel is just soo good.
Great review!
Glad you enjoyed the content 👍
Nice work! TY
Thank you very much for the kind feedback 👍
Fantastic review of the PXG line up Jay. One quick question and excuse me if it has been asked before. For the weighting system that sets different swing weights during a fitting. Would these affect your findings if someone had a lower or greater weight on the back orf the club than what you were fit with?
Great question, and yes they would to a certain extent but minor. The MOI would go up with a heavier weight, although with heavier weights come different dynamics that the golfer would have to suit. So with everything in golf it's a multi-faceted answer. 😊👍👍
Would still love to see a comparison between the Gen7’s and the Gen3’s..especially the XP model, which I have in the Gen 3 and they are fabulous
I’ve had the Gen 3 P’s and haven’t seen a reason to upgrade yet, except maybe the 0317s now. The subsequent “Gen’s” go faster, but also lower and with less spin than the 3’s.
@ I can’t imagine that any of the newer Gen erations are better than the Gen3’s, they are just brilliant
Brilliant as usual, Jay! The 3 irons I am considering for next year are the 0311CB (after watching this), the Vice 101 (great sale price right now) and the Wilson Dynapower forged. Any thoughts? Would love to have you fit them, but the great big pond makes it a little too spendy to get your help 😂
To edit, my swing speed is about 85 mph with 7-iron, and I am an 8.3 index player
I just got a new set of the Blk Ops with the Mitsubishi Mmt stiff shafts. They hit amazing for me. Feel good, forgiving, straight & 1 club longer than my old irons. 👍🏻🇺🇸
Hi Chris, really happy that you are pleased with your purchase, here's to playing some great golf in the upcoming season 👍
i am ordering the same set up great choice so thhey have great feel as well ?
@ Glad I bought them & did phone fitting. Best irons for me I’ve ever had. A guy from HQ in Scottsdale even called me on a Sunday asking if I had any questions before them made & shipped them.
@@chrisb9478 a Phone Fitting..... Wowsers. Glad you are enjoying them 👍
@@chrisb9478 was trying to decide between the black ops and the Taylormade P-790's I think black ops is gonna win
How do the 0317 T and CB compare to the Ping i230 and Mizuno Pro 243?
Toss in the Cobra Limit3D as well and this is the perfect comparison review.
Look at his best players irons video and directly compare the numbers. In short i230 and 243 are more forgiving
The CB and T seem to be good for anyone
Absolutely, could literally be used as a Game Improvement Iron from a Forgiveness point of view, the T is a little faster off the Face so will be best in balance for Forgiveness and Speed.... 👍
@@AskGolfNut for a high spin high launch low cap player looking to lower launch and spin, would you steer them towards the CB or T?

tried most of these and found i liked the Black ops the best underrated club in my opinion
For the right golfer the Black Ops is a brilliant iron 👍
You didnt get the PXG in time for your best of 2024 video. May I suggest a head to head comparison of the Ping i230 vs PXG.

I got fitted into the Black Ops. On the day the performance between these and the Gen 7XP was almost identical and much better then my cutprrent irons for both distance and consistency. I convinced myself that looks didn't matter so went for the cheaper option.
Now I have them, I absolutely hate them can't hit them anywhere near aswell as I did at the fitting. Weirdly my old clubs (p790) that i had been struggling with now feel great. Not sure what to do now?
Being honest, I think you already know what you should do. Fittings are sometimes a minefield of sales speak and influence, I'm not saying that your experience was exactly this but it's happened and happens still a lot.
Golfers should be fitted for what they need rather than focusing on distance primarily so going forward I would look to do a test. On multiple occasions say 3 or 4 tests. Take 20 alternating shots and log the consistency of distance and dispersion of them all. That way you test the Ops and 790s in a fair way.
I'm even happy for you to then give me the data and I'll tell you which irons on the basis of flight which are the irons for you. Of course it could be as simple as a shaft change etc, but it would be fairly black and white to tell which irons are the best overall option for you doing that test in that way 👍
Cheers for the reply. I think I had a bad swing day for the fitting. Also Had a lesson between the fitting and getting the irons, so was hitting my old clubs much better by the time they arrived.
I wasn't originally planning to buy on the day of the fitting, but got tlaked into it, with their lucky 7 deal ( 6 irons and a 4 hydrid) and an extra 10% off onto the day. Lesson learnt, I guess!
I think PXG has a very good return policy. I would go see your fitter again telling him what the issues you are seeing and see how they can try and fix them for you.
76 Years old not swing speed LOL
Been on TH-cam since the beginning, watched Crossfield, Sheils, etc and even you Dave with your early club reviews. Dave you have progressed far and way beyond anyone else on TH-cam when it comes to fact based club reviews and most importantly club comparison. My favorite is your 70 mph inclusion for all us senior golfers. My only suggestion is ditch Discord its too hard to use for use technically challenged people. Keep up the good work.
Hi Gary, it's Jay 😊 really glad you enjoy the content. The new AskGolfNut website is now available for my TH-cam Members to access the Heat Map comparisons and much more. Discord is there for ease of communication and interaction as TH-cam is terrible at that sort of thing.

The thing I most valued about your content was your authenticity. You were always a Mizuno man, but your reviews appeared objective and balanced. You may still be objective and balanced, but your recent content makes you look like a shill for PXG. It has, for me at least, made it impossible to look at your output in the same way.
That makes absolutely no sense, PXG sent Jay 6 models to review and he reviewed 6 models , the fact that he has a preference for Mizuno and still gave praise to PXG where praised was due. In non of the PXG videos has he Jay said these out perform any other brand. Any member of the channel who participates on Discord will tell you there's been 0 fanboying for PXG , we tested the clubs and gave you 100% unbiased data. If you took the videos to be "shilling" for PXG i would suggest that is due to your own interpretation of the brand from your own bias. Join as a member use our very detailed tools to compare irons and see the facts for yourself.
Hi Charles, although I don't agree whatsoever with your comment, I respect that you have your opinion. I know how I conduct my content with the upmost of clarity, honesty, integrity and transparency. I give full measured data from a launch monitor that has no bias, just gives validated results. If you feel that in some way my portraying of the PXG content hasn't been to your liking or the way that I have released them one after the other to try and get all the videos done ready for 2025's silly season, then all I can suggest would be to spend some time on other reviewing channels to critique the quality and openness of the data if any that they share.
I'm very sorry to hear you feel the way you do and I hope to have you return to the channel soon after you have seen what other level of unbiased usable information and data is unfortunately very lacking in other review channels content.
Thanks for the comment and for watching 👍
One of the most unbiased reviewers on youtube straight info that it. Titleist is nuts not sending Jay clubs to test.
I agree 😊👍 I think that says more about them than me 😉👍
