    Thank you for an objective review of the new front mount - bike computer mount. I also received it and found the same - it's a bit too short, so the stitch lines are not ideal. But it's a great little mount that integrates a computer, light and the camera in a small package.

      It seems to be the best solution to date despite it being a bit close, etc.

    I don't have time to watch this Leonard. I'm off to the airport in a few minutes and will see you in a week or so. Can't wait. It should be fun, even if latin panda doesn't show.

    Thank you for the comparison of the different tail mount systems. Of course its annoying if the mount blocks space for a saddle bag, but unfortunately only round seat posts work for the other system. What do you think, is it possible to push the saddle connection a bit up and squeeze in a small saddle bag under? I mean it looks (as long as you can fiddle the straps somehow around the saddle rails) there is enough space in between.

    Thank you for complementary summary of available mounts.
    Regarding stitch line, right now you are using two top screws in your stem.
    Have you tried to relocate mount to two low screws?
    This would place the camera lower, just on the plane of the handlebar axis and therefore improve stitch line location.

    Thanks for the details! I picked up the insta 360 in June as I was buying a new bike and wanted to get outdoors more than zwift ing, but switched the new bike to one with Aero Bars and have not had luck finding an out front mount. This new option I will try when it's available. Been using my go pro 7 on chest mount mainly for safety as I'm riding on new streets in my area but the batteries are old and do not last very long. Cheers! 👍 🚴 🍻

    My main use would be 10x timeshift and as a dash cam to document accidents. I doubt I could read license plates but it might help.

    Hey Leonard - the cycling computer can mount anywhere laterally along the handlebars - it doesn't have to be right on the stem line......

      It can! I think we do forget that sometimes!

    Since I always use a handlebar bag for the larger camera and other stuff, most of the solutions don't work for me. I'm happy with the motorcycle mount and I found some cheap copies of the Insta360 one that are even better rubberized and stick very good with the selfie stick far out.
    I like to change the position and direction of the camera. Compared to everything I had before, I love that it all works with friction. I even can losen the motorcycle mount a bit and move it while riding. The tighten it again and push the stick far out.
    I like a position where the camera is far right or left. This works of course only on roads where you know there is room and no traffic.

    Where would you attach a rear flashing bike light that doesn't interfere with the footage. I figure the best place is the diagonal seat stays running down to the chain stays. As there seems to be a visibility issue at the seat post.
    Or on the back of the helmet.

  • @chrisconnors7418
    @chrisconnors7418 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Leonard, is the standard bundle the one you’d recommend to start with? Or just get the camera and order the other items for mounting separately?

    • @jollygoodvelo
      @jollygoodvelo  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hey Kevan, if you are thinking of buying an X4 you would definitely want the invisible selfie stick as the cameras are designed to be used with it. If you also want to mount it on the bike I would go for the new computer mount.

    Would the v2 seat mount attach to the vertical section of the seat rail? I have short femurs, which causes me to run my saddle as far forward as possible. I have a Trek Emonda that uses an integrated seat post. I tried the v1 mount. It doesn't fit the circumference of the seat mast section. My saddle height isn't tall enough to attach the clamp.

    • @jollygoodvelo
      @jollygoodvelo  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Sounds like we have a similar issue: I run my saddle as far forward as well. (Using an in-line seat pin helps) But in answer to your question, the V2 mount won’t attach to the vertical part of the seat mount. Unfortunately it’s much too big.

    Thanks so much for this review with all possible Insta360 bike related mounts, very helpful indeed 🙏🏼☺️
    I have the carbon frame gravel bike Canyon Grail CFSL (the old one with the double handle bar). And J believe that the new front mount is not going to fit as the handle bar includes only 1 screw place and the new mount has 2 screws so that you are able to fit it underneath the handlebar.

    • @jollygoodvelo
      @jollygoodvelo  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      By the sounds of it, it might be tricky to find a suitable mount for that style of handlebar.

      The image quality of the X4 is pretty good but yes, it does still have that wide angle look to it.

    • @Johnpvb
      @Johnpvb 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You need to use a narrower angle in post to minimize the fisheye effect. But the ability to reframe in post makes shooting much less worrisome.

    • @jollygoodvelo
      @jollygoodvelo  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Johnpvb But that’s the rub; to get a shot without too much distortion you have to use a view that is a little too narrow based on camera distance.
