Would you use a top down default to start making something like a DoubleDragon/RiverCityRansom 3/4 view? Where only the bottom 30% of the screen is traversable?
Do you have any good tutorials on how to make a side view platformer? I like PGMMV but the lack of video tutorials is frustrating as hell. I'm trying to not feel like it was a waste of money but I'm keeping my hopes up.

I want to use this software though I have noticed there isn't a big fanbase for it yet or many tutorials how hard would it be if I wanted to make a game like this in the link. th-cam.com/video/bAxVZkKwTIc/w-d-xo.html it involves making characters fly , punch , and use projectile attacks is all that possible ? or does it involve lots of complicated coding language ?
I also hope PGM gets more popular because I like it a lot. I think it will grow as the engine grows with more examples and templates. I can think of at least 4 game types I can make with the 2 templates right now, so more than enough for the time being.
