Old film buffs should know who this man was LONG before Joker. Not just the scarecrow from the wizard of oz, but a dancer SO ELASTIC that he could make even Fred Astaire cry. It’s nice to see an oldie and goodie brought back as inspiration for a new film

People always talk about Fred Astaire when they talk about tap, but Ray Bolger has always been an inspiration of mine. His taps are so clear yet light and gentle; the amount of control this man has while _looking like_ he's so loose and free is unreal. If you're not a tap dancer, this dance probably looks really good. But if you _are_ a tap dancer, well, you know ;)

Really love how Arthur's descent into madness is mirrored in this dance alone, it starts of quite rigid and reserved, but transforms into something quite cocky and maniacal towards the end. They really couldn't have chosen a betrer inspiration for Joker's movements.
