- For me, choosing the Galaxy Tab S9 over the Galaxy Tba S8 Ultra is a no-brainer due to its size and functionality as an actual tablet. I still use the Tab S8 Ultra a lot, but not as much as I thought I would when I made the initial purchase.

Thank you so much for this! I was going to go with the tab s8 ultra since it’s on sale at Best Buy right now but I just realized I can use my student discount and get the s9 base for around the same price. I just need something to watch media and take notes on and with the s8 ultra being bigger than my MacBook that’s a little too much 😅. Also the s9 being water resistant made my decisions little easier
Hi, bro! Now I've got the Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite (2020) and plan to buy the Tab S9 next year mainly because of the AMOLED screen.
But I wanted Samsung to make the Tab S9 Mini, like the iPad Mini. Two years ago, when I bought Tab S6 Lite, I was tempted to buy A7 Lite, but the lack of the S pen was the dealbreaker for me because a tablet without a stylus is just a huge phone.
About to choose between the two for productivity and power internet user. Great vid.. perfect! Going with the S9 for usability and mobility btw.
I have not tried the Ultra sized tablets but did have a S7+. While i enjoyed it, i much prefer the size of the S9. I use that everyday alongside my laptop and S23U. It's perfect for so many different things, both work and personal.

Yeah I just got a S8 ultra and although I really really like it. I also agree with what you said it's just feels kinda bulky in hand... It good in landscape but portrait mode does feel especially bulky..
It's weird because I used to have a tablet that was actually bigger than the Ultra and it didn't feel as bulky as the Ultra does.... but it was a 3:2 aspect ratio.. so not as long..and more wide.
Ultimately I think what hurts the Ultra is it's 16:10 aspect ratio makes it's very long..
On smaller tablets you don't notice it too much but with this it just in your face constantly...
I really think that just for the Ultra they should have gone 3:2 aspect ratio instead...
Tho videos do look better in 16:10 than 3:2 but almost everything else plus just general use isn't...
What case do you have on your tab S8 ?
I am still waiting for the 8 inch amoled tab from aamsung . It's been 7 years
I have the S8 Ultra and i like it but it is a big device, even to someone for my size at 6'1, i need a smaller tablet and the S9 will fit the bill
i miss the period when they made 8" tablets , i preffer a secondary phone than a big tablet
I have the S8 Ultra. For home use, I can curl up in my chair and really enjoy watching videos (TH-cam, Netflix, etc.)
I have the keyboard- but almost never use it. And, it's WAY too big to take with me anywhere.
I suspect the S9 would feel too small, so I'd probably compromise with one of the S9 Plus models.
This is why if you buy only ONE I like the Plus. Goldilocks zone that is big enough to be comfortable with a keyboard and small enough to be usable as a tablet.
I bought the Ultra and found it too massive as a tablet.
I have an older the tab s6 (even smaller and lighter than s9) and I just bought a used 12.4 s7 Plus WITH Samsung keyboard for 350.
Frankly, only downside is update support.
But the 2 amoled combo could be had for less than ANY single new s series tablet.
I really to not feel a real issue with less speed than newer processors.
Before the S8 Ultra I owned the S7 Plus... at times I felt it was too big as well. I'm 100% riding with 11" tabs from now on. 👊🏾
@@NewStuffTV1I feel ya. I think the Plus is not as optimal at either task but serviceable at both.
I think that for me, having the s6 makes me not long for the s9. I have the original s6 (not the lite which is ironically not lighter) and that bad boy is amoled super thin and crazy light.
For the one handed use you describe, I actually like it better than the current form factor.
Bummer is it stopped getting updates about 6 months ago.

I'm currently looking at upgrading my s 7+plus mostly because of the updates situation. Part of me really wanted to go for the ultra. Because I have a lot of discounts and it ends up coming in under five hundred dollars with the trade in. I also like the idea that the o e m keyboard case has backlighting. That said I'm a little concerned about the size. And whether or not I'll just find it too massive. I think if the 9 plus had the.
5G connectivity I would have definitely leaned in that direction harder. But on the samsung site it looks like only wifi is available. Decisions decisions. Thanks for a reminder in your previous video that I was able to go into settings and allow the onboard keyboard to work when I had the regular keyboard folded back.

I think the S9 is superior
Obviously in S8 Ultra, it has 1848*2960 pixels and in the other hand S9 has 1600*2560 pixels. Overall S8 Ultra is better than S9, it’s just how the way you use it and what’s the purpose of use.
It depends what you want... The Ultra is higher rez very close to 3k the S9 is much less but it supports 120hz adaptive and has a brighter screen.. The tab s8 ultra also has 120hz but it's not adaptive so it uses more power to do so..
You are my tech guru...I use my Galaxy tab S7 ultra as my traveling companion while doing Uber and use my Galaxy Tab S5e while in bed. Thanks for the tech reviews. 🎉
