I've got it!!! I've just received my brand new Leatherman Crunch that I ordered on eBay from a 100%-rated American seller two weeks ago. I'm so happy not to have missed it!!!
Bought a used but fully functional one with the original leather sheath yesterday for $1. I knew what it was as soon as I saw it and jumped all over it. Date codes were “0999” and “1199”.
This thing is so cool, I just found it on the site today, never seen anything like it. I already have the wave that is great for everything but nothing is more useful than a pair of vice grips imo!
Definatly a great tool and I almost bought it 10 different times but the tool set isn't what I would use the most, for what I do pliers is good enough and having the extra tools is very handy. Wish they would have redesigned it to have outside tools on both arms then it might have been a contender for me. Thanks for the great vid and keep making sharp things fun and enjoyable
You can also put the proprietary Leatherman flat bits in as well. That slot at the end of the pliers you can put T shank saw blades or files in and use it as a saw.
That is news to me! Just ordered one. The more I learn about this tool the more I realize it will go down as one of the best leatherman's ever made. Years from now, it will be more valuable than all of the other ones if they do in fact, discontinue it permanently
In my game as a mechanical technician /metal muncher, I would take the vice grip option over the pliers all day every day. My ideal multi tool would have the vice grips, serrated knife, scissors, file and a quarter inch driver without removing that soon-to-be-mislaid screw. But hey that's just me!! 😁
Looks like a great tool, more of a specialized tool set like you said. I'm more of the "average joe" kind of guy. I love a plain edge blade and love a nice can opener for opening canned goods, for me its a must have. Do you find the implements easy to use, it looks like the handles collapse very easily. I have those built it lanyards on my Kick and Supertool 300. I'm not a fan of those but it won't stop me from purchasing a tool. I prefer more of a needle nose profile as well. Beautiful multitool though, the engineering is awesome. Mr. Tim Leatherman is a great designer and fabricator. I love the second generation Wave too. I only cut tie wire when I need it so I don't need the replaceable wire cutters but they're a nice touch to the Wave+. I do have to say besides Victorinox, I don't think there's a company quite as great as LEATHERMAN. Not bashing any company but for me Leatherman is phenomenal truly. I really, really, really love my Leatherman tools. Its a way of life, not only a side carry or pocket tool.
@@hvacbudget8600 Many unofficial ones, I guess, between the countries I live, specially Vietnam (they seem to be quite keen on SAKs and multitools there), it just takes some time for the local dealers to adapt to offer changes by Leatherman. Just ordered a Crunch today here in Thailand for 124 usd which is a very good price. PST Heritage unfortunately is still getting the same ridiculous prices that American dealers were charging last year.
@@soupappreciator8977 very interesting to hear from other countries. I have seen recently the ruiss 1029 copy of the Leatherman juice on AliExpress. Looks discontinued now. Are some of those off brand copies easier to find overseas?
@@hvacbudget8600 it's not pointy, slow to open, and 5cm long Even in places where blades are heavily regulated, you most likely wouldn't have a problem in my opinion
@@C4H10N4O2 Good to know. Knife laws can be very nonsensical. In my State I believe concealed pistol carry is know permitted even without a state license but technically carrying a knife blade ( over three inches?) in your pocket is illegal.
Thanks for this advice. I don't yet own the smaller Swiss Tool (the Spirit), and this is a good argument for buying that one next, instead of this Crunch. I could always carry a 6" Irwin Vise Grip to meet the locking pliers need. They are affordable and I already own one. It always comes back to how much is justifiable to carry: how many items simultaneously. I usually don't mind the weight (I need the exercise anyway), but I don't want the bulging of my pockets to attract too much attention or look eccentric. The big question is "what will I _actually_ be carrying in my pocket on the day that I could really use some locking pliers." As they say, the best tool is the one that you actually have on you. I appreciate you guys sharing videos of these tools and testing them. I love the videos. I already subbed to both of you.
Mr. Diezelle, I hope you didn't ruin your wire cutters or three sided file for demonstration purposes for us! You have more Leatherman Tools than all of us combined, so you now about the 25 year warranty and fabulous repair service Leatherman has! Love your channel tool sir!
@@richardsullivan1776 Leatherman files (hacksaw function) are bad compared to Victorinox files. I indeed shaved off the teeth of a REBAR file just by trying to cut an aluminum rod (which did not pose any problem for the VICTORINOX file). Leatherman should work on this issue. For the CRUNCH wire cutter, I tried to cut a nail, I succeeded but by creating a notch. Too bad for such an expensive multi-tool. I know the Leatherman warranty, I've used it twice ((not locking the saw on a SIGNAL and pleirs too tight on a FREE P4) and I'm very satisfied. But, when it comes to REBAR and CRUNCH, I'm going to leave these multi-tools on their shelf, I don't really mind. I wish you a good evening, with my thanks, dear Richard :)

Thanks for watching!

It really is neat and shockingly compact!
Also can hold a saw blade in the plier head

I was thinking about getting one of these to compliment my surge. The vice grips really sell the tool for me
It's a really useful tool!
Picked one up right away.
Great companion to wave, charge, and surge. Add a Benchmade, Spyderco, or Cold Steel and I'm in like flynn.
It is a sweet tool!

It is fairly easy to use after several practise tries. The biggest surprise is how light it is!
I wish the tools were customizable. Some of those tools I don't need and some I would rather have.
6:06 "Should you buy the Crunch? The short answer is yes." Lol. I am trying not to buy too many MTs but man, this one keeps calling my name.
Locking pliers like the vice grip. Have 101 uses. Just ask any truck driver with experience.
Great video. God bless!
Thanks!
Where overseas are locking multi-tools like the Leatherman Crunch not allowed?
I thought the locking knife blade might be an issue, some have said it isn't.
I bought one at the px in Iraq and loved it. sadly, i lost it at a lake while fishing. i am def gonna buy another though now that they are back.
Thanks for your service! It's a great tool!
Man I wish Leatherman would ship intl. I'd immediately order this and the PST heritage, which is back for 100 usd.
That would be nice. Do you have any Leatherman dealers close by?

Good idea! I will look into that!
The signal have ex bit driver aswell
Very true. Good point!
Good review, thanks 👍 I can't find one for love nor money in the UK.

Thanks!

Whycant yoy have locking tools over seas? Or does he just mean the knife?
The knife. It seems there are many countries the locking knife is banned

There’s the crunch and the mr crunch. You have the crunch, mr leatherman designed the mr crunch
I’d rather have the Irwin vise grip multi tool it’s way cheaper and way stronger
My advice: do not cut nails or hard wires with the wire cutter, the steel being too soft & do not use the hacksaw of the file even for aluminum.
Good to know!
