    I’m having a bunch of fun designing new tools for the GOAT. It’s great to tinker with.

    Nice vid sir !!👏👍 I would have include the Surge which is for me the biggest compétitor of the Goat due to the switchable saw/file plus the screwdriver bit holder.

  • @Maixo
    @Maixo หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Bit driver on the Sog is a gimmick. Have to keep constant grip pressure even when you are at the "happy days" stage and have the screw actually loose. Can be solved by using a magnet between the handles but then you have a magnet and separate bits to worry about. Better to have the the proper drivers built in 🤔

    Oh... that Goat. I thought you meant the Surge.

    My SOG Power Access Deluxe is a great tool, but the Swisstool Spirit seems like very tough competition for Goat at this price point.

    GOAT cutters also have too big wide screw head (hat) what may interfere during some cut

    • @andrewfett142
      @andrewfett142 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The screws are ridiculous. Almost to very edge of cutters. I fixed my goat cutters. They are cutting everything I have. I have a lot of vids on the goat. :)

    I like my Curl, I've been alternating it with my Bond as my EDC since late last winter. I'm not a fan of a serrated blade or wood saw so both models meet my needs perfectly.

      Great observation. Unfortunately, I think supply and demand causes the MP400 to be more expensive because it is more popular. Sort of like when my kids small shoes cost just as much as my large shoes which doesn't make sense to me, LoL!

    Very nice overview, thanks!😊 I would say that if you want more tools, then save a bit more & get the Wave...I love mine....you would be getting more bang for your buck...if you do not, then it makes a great EDC carry when you are out & about, as I do with my REV... I am not convinced that magnets & multitools mix, especially in a shop that generates metal filings...the XC is a beauty, yours is older than mine, it has the V cross & shield stamped on the plier head..nice! V does not make these anymore, sadly, their offering is now the Swisstool Spirit X, which has the regular straight blade...the Gerber is just right for a pocket carry & the clip you put in looks perfect!😊I also like way the plier head is set up...I like the SOG because of the very smooth "industrial" looking pliers...I understand it gives the user a greater grip...the GOAT is the modders dream...how do you think they will make adjustments for folks like yourself who have it & want the cutters fixed? Thanks!

    • @hvacbudget8600
      @hvacbudget8600  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It seems like the eventual fix for the GOAT may be to reshape, remold, and recast the pliers head. Maybe the current pliers head can be used and then just reshaped drilled etc but it sounds like it could be such an expensive process it could hamper the company. Hopefully it isn't that bad.

      @@hvacbudget8600 thanks for the info! Could you let us know what the solution is?

    • @galadballcrusher8182
      @galadballcrusher8182 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Tbh i expect at a point, maybe GOAT mk 2 to have optional plier head replacements such as a bigger scissors/pruner, or electricians wirestripper/ wirecutter head for added modding flexibility. And be modular like the rest of tools but diferent hinging slots as the head needs more force. May loose hammering option because of less structural risk to a modding head but may be able add a socket in the back for a rachet or such. Now before someone asks"and go plierless?" The idea is i think having a pair of GOATs would allow you to have totally different tools on every slot of the pair alltogether but still this would leave you with 2 pliers but with a modding head...can opt for one of the other heads for second GOAT see?

  • @kettchuk918
    @kettchuk918 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Is there a way to buy the frame without any tools in it, so one can build a load out that’s…modular? I can’t see it in the site, but it might not be listed? The whole point of this is it’s customisability and if it comes with a load of tools that’ll never be used, just sit in a drawer replaced by something else, then it’s not much more use than buying and modding a leatherman or similar.

    • @hvacbudget8600
