  • The 2009 Nobel Laureate for Chemistry didn't go to an IIT or the best colleges in the US, and was not called for single interview despite applying for over 50 positions. So, as he received his award, Dr Ramakrishnan said even as you pursue your dreams, keep your options open in case of setbacks.

Inspiring, when I look at so many legends, so many of them start out humble. You dont need an IIT , or even A+ on everything you do. Keep an open mind about possibilities , mostly towards yourself, theres always a chance you will grow into someone who is exceptionally good at something.

Imagine the pressure of IITs in India, a scientist who the President of Royal Society is speaking Of IIT saying that he couldn't make it into an IIT keeping aside the fact that he does not have any regret

It is a matter of great shame that Indian ethos are not imbibed in some shallow minds. Hindi is one of the official languages which is not known to many. English is the most familiar official language of India. Happy for the ones who use English instead of hindi so that we understand the context from the speaker himself.

@@softgrowl As a matter of fact, India doesn't have any such single official language. The Constitution recognizes several official languages (22 and several others), but no such single language is official.
