@@Geronimo_Jehoshaphat He checks so many boxes & even fits the "someone in their thirties" trait that long time producer Michael G Wilson mentioned to @DEADLINE a little while back.
Somebody who I think was a missed opportunity is James Purefoy. If anyone is not familiar with who is is, he was in the TV series Rome where he played Mac Anthony, as well as the TV series The Following where he played the serial killer/cult leader Joe Caroll, and has featured in the Netflix series Sex Education as the father of one of it's lead characters Otis. At 59, that ship will have now clearly sailed, but he has the charisma and presence that would have made him an amazing Bond.
I don’t care who plays the next Bond. I’m sure they’ll find a good actor. Be he white, black, blond or brunette. I just hope they don’t try to explain how the last Bond died. When I was growing up, they just suddenly had a new actor playing bond. Even tho Q & M were played by the same actors( and even they sometimes changed). NO explanation was given. You just accepted this new actor was James Bond. Simple. Although I loved Craigs more realistic gritty take on 007, I think it was a mistake to kill him off. Bond has always been about escapism. I grew up during the over the top Roger Moore era. Exaggerated villains, wild stunts, crazy gadgets, sexy women & humor. Altho Bond has skewed more towards “realism” lately, toning down the silliness & misogyny a bit for a grittier feel… it’s still Bond. It’s still supposed to be fun escapism. And I don’t think killing him off was cool. I really hope they don’t try to explain it. Just move on as if Bond didn’t die. If not, what are you going to have? A person with a different name playing 007? Create a multiverse? Lol. Seriously. Just have a new actor playing James Bond as if Craig’s Bond didn’t exist. New adventures. New Villains. New Bond girls. Don’t fall into the trap of having to explain what happened in the last movie. If Ralph Fiennes is still playing M… cool. Have him treat the new actor as if he’s ALWAYS been James Bond. The audience can make that leap. We’ve already made it from Connery, to Lazenby, to Moore, to Dalton, to Brosnan. We don’t need any explanation going from Craig to whoever plays Bond in the next film. So don’t try.
For me, Nicholas Hoult would be a great choice for Bond. Ever since I seen him as the hitman in ‘Those who wish me dead’. He just oozed a dangerous Bond. And he’s early 30’s as well.
For sure, EON don't care about my comment. I'm male, I'm white, I'm middle aged. It would be a hard to mourn the loss to my favorite fictional character. Let's all hope Kathleen doesn't go near this.
Thank you for your intelligent, detailed yet interesting analysis of whom you think may be the next James Bond! I had never heard of Dan Stevens, and that is key, and I like him.
You have a lot of great choices on your list. That being said, my top three picks, in no particular order, are Dev Patel, Henry Golding, and Dan Stevens. All three of them possess the qualities that make for a great Bond actor. It's not just their impressive acting skills but also the intensity in their eyes that can captivate audiences. I'd also like to mention a wildcard choice I'm a fan of, and that is Mark Rowley.
Idris Elba would be my favorite choice, just watch him in Luther, but at this point he is too old. Though I think him being in a James Bond movie as perhaps an antagonistic partner or even a bad guy would be interesting.
Dan Stevens I agree he also had actually already played bond via audiobooks, but I maybe wrong I think he is in his early 40s, Rupert Friend is another shout but Henry Cavill is the best of the lot
Stop trying to force Idris Elba into the role. James Bond/007 is *not black,* and it seems Elba himself understands this hence him refusing to be apart of it.
Dan Stevens probably fits the character better than all the others mentioned. He has the youth, looks and the ability to adapt to the roll. Before I even watched the video, Dan came to my mind and when he was the final choice I was in total agreement.
Aaron Taylor Johnson is super wooden and would have half the charisma of Daniel Craig. Richard Madden is way too short. Riz Ahmed would be a great pick but I feel like the role would take on a different context. Same with Rege-Jean Page is good but he’s going to be the new Simon Templar and I think he’d be much more fun in that sort of role.
One of my problems is that many modern actors in their 30s look too youthful and baby-faced. Bond has to look like he’s lived in the world. Daniel Craig and Sean Connery especially exemplified those traits.

I'm still upset that Dalton didn't get a 3rd (4th & 5th) Bond movie.
Everyone is. Have you read the original script for Daltons 3rd movie
@@fSebastianRe no, didn't know there was one, do you have a link or at lest a title, cheers.
@@RoverIAC won’t let me send the link but search up “property of a lady” original script
No Jermaine Bond or Jin Bond and especially NO Jane Bond plz.
Wow, you are one insecure little soft boy. What a punk ass thing to say.
Henry
Henry!
So don’t try.
have you thought of Matthew Lewis? (Neville in Harry Potter)
Henry Cavil
Not enough people mentioning Jack O’Connell. An amazing actor and can do gritty and dangerous as well as likeable.
Ummmm how the fuck is Dev Patel Scottish? He was born in Harrow, London???
Henry Cavill
my top 5:
5. Andrew Lincoln
4. Henry Cavill
3. Tom hardy
2. Dan Stevens
1. Thomas Doherty
Aiden Turner (Poldark) would be my choice, he can handle all the physical stuff and can act well, and the ideal age.
Paul Mescal came to my mind. Late 20s. He’s on the rise.
Dan Stevens, Dev Patel and Riz Ahmed are good choices too. All three can act well.
Dan Stevens is an amazing choice.
❤❤❤🎉HenryCavill please 🎉
1. Alex Pettyfer
2. Lucien Laviscount
3. Henry Golding
4. Dan Stevens
I've been saying Dan Stevens for four years. Great pick
Idris Elba would be my favorite choice, just watch him in Luther, but at this point he is too old. Though I think him being in a James Bond movie as perhaps an antagonistic partner or even a bad guy would be interesting.
Are you a black person ?
Dan Stevens I agree he also had actually already played bond via audiobooks, but I maybe wrong I think he is in his early 40s,
Rupert Friend is another shout but Henry Cavill is the best of the lot
I have 3 choices
1. Theo James
2. Philip Winchester
3. Anthony Ingruber
I think we need to get Henry Cavill as Bond 100%.
Based on what I saw in Tenet..I reckon R Patz would crush it..
I’ve always said that Tom Hardy would be a good James Bond
negative on tom hardy, put a fresh face in
For your consideration. Jamie Dornan. Yes, he's Irish, but so is Pierce Brosnan. Dornan checks all the boxes IMO.
Technically Brosnan was, but he lived in London from the age of years old. He still lives in a townhouse there.
Personally, my vote would go to Richard Madden.
P. S. Thanks for mentioning Timothy Dalton (my personal favorite 007)
He was the closest to the description in the books.
