I knew Richard Kiel. He would come into the gas station I worked at in the late 80’s all the time. Super nice man and always was nice to fans who would ask for autographs when he was filling up. He was so tall he even took up most of the room in his vehicles (a Lincoln Town Car and a Ford Econoline van.)

The fact is: Roger Moore had the best girls! And the best films! His last 5 movies(1977, 1979, 1981, 1983, 1985.) were probably the best time in James Bond franchise ever! Of course, Timothy Dalton's first film, TLD(1987), was great too! And Kara Milovy was a gorgeous Bond girl!

The Aston-Martin DB-V in Goldfinger is the quintessential spy car. Whenever you hear the term "spy car" that's the one everybody thinks of. The arcade game Spy Hunter even used a car with all those things years ago, but I guess couldn't get the music rights for the Bond theme and instead used the Peter Gunn theme. Machine guns, smokescreen, oil slick, etc.

On the Bond girls list, Honorable Mention to Dr. Holly Goodhead in Moonraker. Her knowledge of aerospace engineering and her status as a CIA plant in the Drax Organization made her a stronger female character than most Bond girls. Lois Chiles was a real beauty back then and her filmography shows that she's worked steadily for years, mostly in small parts. Chiles' best other role IMO was in Creepshow 2 as the woman who hits a hitchhiker with her car then gets tormented by his ghost all the way home.

JoBlo classified Elektra as a Bond Girl rather than a villain but I don’t think that’s accurate. If you zoom out you can see that Elektra was the mastermind behind the whole plot and Renard was the henchman (or secondary villain at best)

Gadget list. Honorable Mention to the demolition watch in Moonraker. After Drax has Bond and Holly Goodhead placed "where they can be assured of warmth," under the Moonraker shuttle's engines, he escapes by pulling out a small explosive charge from his watch that he uses to blow open an exhaust grate so they can escape. The watch itself acts as a detonator switch for the explosive.

Elektra King was the main villain in The World Is Not Enough and Renard was the henchman. The whole plot was hers and Renard was the muscle willing to die to make sure she got what she wanted

I think the best villain is Auric Goldfinger. His grotesque obsession with Gold, combined with his need to overcompensate for his shortcomings, (cheating at golf, cards, and paying to be seen with beautiful women) makes him a fully fleshed out character and villain. That humanity is missing in most Bond villains and they are often merely not much beyond "cloak and dagger".

Good Bond Girls list. Eva Green also gets my vote for #1. You might consider a list of "backup" Bond girls regardless of heroine or villain, ones whom figured in the movie and maybe Bond actually slept with. For example, in Dr. No, Bond didn't sleep with Honey Ryder (although he did make out with her in the boat at the end of the movie) but he did sleep with Miss Taro, the double-agent secretary at Government House in Jamaica. There was also Sylvia Trench, whom Bond met at the casino at the beginning of Dr. No, and who returned briefly at the start of From Russia With Love.

In what universe is Natalya 'mousey looking'? Elektra is also totally a villain. Yeah, she's something of a Stockholm victim, but she absolutely the villain as much as Renard, and indeed she was the mastermind, effectively switching roles with Renard, where he ended up subordinate to her.
The glasses in A View to a Kill are less X-Ray specs, and more filters for reflections on glass. He's not seeing through a wall, just making it easier to make out what's going on, on the other side of a window.

Monica Bellucci in her short appearance in one of the Daniel Craig films was great - she is awesome. The second most under-rated bond (first being Timothy Dalton) Peirce Brosnan had a pretty stacked Bond girl lineup - Halle Berry, Denise Richards, Teri Hatcher, Famke Janssen (who can forget Xenia?,) Izabella Scorupco , Sophie Marceau, and the amazing talented Michelle Yeoh. That is a pretty ridiculous lineup of amazing. That and I appreciate how so many of Brosnan era Bond's female counterparts were actually portrayed as being somewhat competent - instead of the trope of the older bond movies portraying women as lesser, mostly useless stand-ins for the great Sean Connery to give a pat on the butt. I did absolutely love Grace Jones in A View to a Kill which is one of my favs (along with GoldenEye and MoonRaker.)

I've often said that Roger Moore should have stopped portraying James Bond with For Your Eyes Only since he was starting to show his age in that film. While his last 2 films weren't bad, it would have been best if a younger actor (even if it wasn't Timothy Dalton) take over the role from him.

When you look at most comic book, television, & movie superheroes, they do seem more "woke" or Liberal leaning rather then Conservative. This is probably because most of these heroes are written to want to help/save people of all backgrounds & rarely have prejudices against other human beings. An "anti-woke" hero is essentially a James Bond villain.
