  • In this presentation of the New Muslim Resource Center, Imam Omar Suleiman gives an excellent overview of the Islamic creed and fundamental beliefs in a simplified form, in plain English, specifically for those who are new to Islam. This can inshaAllah also be useful for Muslim children and teens and as an introduction to Islamic faith for non-muslims.

      @@thehonesttruth278 David Wood is a diagnosed psychopath, who tried to kill his dad by stabbing him. He went to prison, and allegedly became a Christian there. The lies which he spreads and clear falsehood has no right to be followed.
      I am not mocking David for being a psychopath, because if he was born with it, he has no control over it. But the point I am trying to make is that he should not be listened to like a scholar.

      God loves you and because of that, he became into a man, died for your and my sins, you just gotta confess with your mouth that you recognize him as your Lord and Savior and all what he did. Jesus is the path, the truth and life, nobody goes toward God if it isn’t through Him. Believe, have faith, many people try to underestimate what Jesus is and did calling him just a “messenger” He is God himself

    • @wintergreen1000
      @wintergreen1000 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@nelsongomezjaimes9350
      1. Where is the proof that God became a man?
      God is by definition One, unique, all powerful, independant, immortal, etc. And human beings are by definition similar to other creation, not all powerful, dependant, mortal, etc.
      It is a paradox for God to become a man, or for a man to become God. Their definitions are completely opposite; they can never be put together.
      But does God really have to become a man to get close to us? ex. Do I have to become a computer to understand a computer? No. And if I did become a computer, I could not also be a human being at the same time. How could God be both God and man?
      Therefore, God is very close to us, even though he is very different than us. He wants us to come close to us, but we have to show effort.
      In the Quran 2:186, God says "And when My servants ask you, concerning Me - indeed I am near. I respond to the invocation of the supplicant when he calls upon Me. So let them respond to Me [by obedience] and believe in Me that they may be [rightly] guided."
      God is always close. You just recognise Him and come close to Him.
      2. Where is the proof that he died for our sins?
      Why was Jesus reluctant to die in the Bible? If he actually come to die for you, why did he say at his last moment "Lord, Lord, why have you forsaken me?"(Mark 13:44- And at three in the afternoon Jesus cried out in a loud voice, “Eloi, Eloi, lema sabachthani?” (which means “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”)
      Why did he pray before his alleged crucifixion in Mark 14:36 "Abba, Father,” he said, “everything is possible for you. Take this cup from me. Yet not what I will, but what you will."
      There were many early Christian groups which denied that Jesus was crucified. It just happened that one understanding became popular through Paul and Constantine, that one group became Orthodox and the rest were called heresy.
      3. What is the proof that Jesus was God?
      Did Jesus ever say he is God? No. I want you to reply and give me any quotations from the Bible where he claimed he is God. I will explain its context.
      Peace be upon you. Please ask me or contact gainpeace.com where you can also get a free copy of the Quran.

      @@wintergreen1000 church teachings.
      Most Christians haven't actually read the bible or only a small amount. The rest is what they get from other people, they accept what they're told. Not what they read.
      I never understood people saying Jesus was god when there is so much saying otherwise.

    • @wintergreen1000

      @@lindamartinez9438 You are right that most Christians do not read the Bible. But what authority do people, such as church fathers and popes have, to over rule the teachings of the Bible? If the Bible says there is only one God who cannot change forms, and clearly does NOT teach the Trinity, how could the Church be qualified to teach it?
      The same thing applies to Jesus dying for your sins.
      I hope that made sense!

    Fascinating, thank you. Though I'm having a hard time understanding how the idea of Muslim spiritual 'equality' reconciles with say, an Imam, who issues direct rulings like Fatwas, and seems little different and perhaps even more 'authoritative' than a Hindu Brahmin, a Jewish Rabbi, a Christian Fundamentalist Minister, or a Catholic Pope?

    • @wintergreen1000
      @wintergreen1000 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Peace be upon you,
      Here is the answer from me who has been blessed to be raised in a Muslim family.
      An Imam does not actually need to issue direct rulings(Fatwahs). An Imam is only someone who leads the people in prayer. Yes, usually they are also scholars(Alim singular of Ulama), but they do not have to be.
      Those that are qualified to give rulings are the scholars, the Ulama. There is a proper way of being authorized to teach Islam, which is through an authorized teacher, who learned from an authorized teacher, all the way up to prophet Muhammad(peace be upon him). There are a handful of institutions around the globe, ex. Chicago, New York, South Africa, UK, India, etc. where students study for a minimum of 7-8 years to be qualified to teach others.
      I hope that helped and please ask me if you have more questions.

      @@matonmongo No it is not a hierarchy. Yes, the people above you in knowledge, are and should be respected extra, but that does not make them infallible, sinless, or a greater person by birth, etc.
      We must work for our salvation. It would not be fair if we are able to go to Heaven without doing anything, but just by having parents who were muslims, or being an Alim.

      @matonmongo 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@wintergreen1000 OK, but hierarchies can be based on many different things besides just 'infallibility' or social class. Though regardless, 'authority' is still Authority, so disobey and there are 'consequences'.
      *hierarchy (n.):* a system or organizational structure in which people or groups are ranked one above the other according to status, authority, or levels of importance. Ex.- the clergy of the Catholic or Episcopal Church; the religious authorities.

    • @wintergreen1000
      @wintergreen1000 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@matonmongo I understand what you mean, and appreciate you continuing to ask.
      Of course anyone who is respected by the majority of Muslims, if someone is threatening, speaking against that scholar, there will be verbal consequences. That means they should be shown with love and compassion that for them to oppose someone who has learned Islam from there teachers to an unbroken chain to Muhammad(peace be upon him) is not good.
      However, there should never be physical consequences to someone who disobeys, unless they themselves are being corruptive or causing evil.
      Unlike the Catholic or Episcopal Church, Islamic authorities can be from any background. ex. White, black, Arab, non-Arab, rich, poor, etc. The only thing which distinguishes a Muslim from another is their piety which they themselves do.
      Quran (49:13)- "O mankind, indeed We have created you from male and female and made you peoples and tribes that you may know one another. Indeed, the most noble of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous of you. Indeed, Allah is Knowing and Acquainted."

    And we know Luke and Mark were both 1st generation Christians and traveling companions of various apostles, and likely interviewed the apostle Peter for much of their information. Additionally, the Gospel of Peter that was referenced was written around 300 AD and no serious scholars believe that Peter actually wrote it.

    please, everyone take note after 6:00 "the only ones who would fall onto that punishment are those that refuse to accept guidance from the most compassionate the most mercifull". As with all religions, them too see theirselves as the "chosen" and everyone else is susceptible to "holy violence". Aka Jihads Crusades etc. Understand that there is no god nor allah to help us, there is only us and what we do with our society is our matter.

      ***** he also said that in Islam noone is above the other in Islam, even the Imam (the one who leads the prayer) is not seen as a leader/chosen/holy and is as much in need of guidance as any other.
      also Allah keeps telling us (Muslims) in the Quran to be wary of becoming arrogant or thinking that we are above anyone else. In fact in our daily five times prayer we ask Allah to guide us and protect us from going astray (although we already believe).
      I recommend that you read the Quran please to better understand our claims and why we think they're unique and different from the rest of theology.

Open, more than your eyes, your heart to believe in Jesus. “I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the father except through me”. John 14:6.
