To anyone having an issue where you can see the game bar is detecting the audio but not your Xbox, within the Xbox app (after you’ve remoted to your console) there are 8 dots in the top left hand corner Click it, it will bring out two icons to click on Click on the 3 dots icon on the left There you will see the mic icon muted Click on it to Unmute it You should now be able to see audio activity on your console Hope this helps as I struggled for an hour trying to figure it out Happy gaming
This works (with lag), but be careful if you have limited bandwidth. For whatever strange reason, with Xbox Series X|S, Remote Play streams over the internet rather than just using your local wifi connection like it did on Xbox One (even though you’re in the same house and on the same local network), so you will be racking up that data usage per hour through your ISP. Not sure why they haven’t fixed this.
@Malrats I agree, I don't understand why they haven't fixed that issue with the bandwidth. Me personally, I've never had that happen, so maybe it's just the service provider or something in the settings. I don't know. And yes there will be a little bit more lag through the microphone than usual, but, xbox party chats already have a bit of a delay, and the microphones built into the headsets also have input delay. So, to answer the question for most people. Is it really worth it to buy a usb microphone and do this method? I would say it is. But, it's all up to personal preference. Hope this helped clear up some things, or I was able to make the ups and downs more clear :)
I think I understand and am having the same problem, everything in the video worked but once you connect you’re headphones for the audio the mic in the headphones negates the usb mic and makes it not pick up any audio, but whenever I have my headset unplugged and plugged into my actual monitor my usb mic seems to work just fine

Quick question, after i click the button for the little spaceship that pops up everything is working fine for my mic, however its just a black screen and 10 seconds later it says "disconnected from cloud gaming session" and my mic disconnects from the party. So here's my problem. I set all this up, it seems like its all working, the audio levels on MW2 are reacting to my voice, it's getting audio. but it doesn't actually output any audio, nobody can hear me whatsoever and i have no idea what's wrong.

Yes, all you will need to do is set up your headset on the gamebar to pick up the audio, and you're good. Now I will say some people have a syncing issue when it comes to game sound delay. I don't have this issue, but I wanted to throw it out there to you so you know. Ways to help with it is making sure pc and xbox are hooked up with ethernet cables and close by each other.
Does this require you to utilize remote play on the pc instead of from playing on the actual console? I experience latency during beta tests of remote play but havent utilized it since.

This method works, but there is significant lag. I tried using it for recording an MLB The Show 23 game and I was always a fraction of a second behind on every swing. Probably fine for most games, but not for things that require precise and quick actions.
Some people reported this. I was able to play cod on this method with no issues. Also, you shouldn't be lagging if you use the screen you console is hooked up to not the pc screen.

If you’re having problems with putting the njsj usb microphone into your xbox, as said it has an extendable usb chip that you can plug into the charging port of your xbox controller, as it has a headphone jack on it you could plug your headsets jack into the mic if you have a wired headset!

@PughsReview I believe I figured it out I went into the properties of the blue yeti on my pc and lowered its volume down and I believe that fixed it, because that was the only notable change I made. I did attempt to use a set of hyperX headphones and I did detach the removable mic but that actually for some reason completely cut my (playback audio) that the yeti is able to perform....tbh I think the volume being lowered and me just unplugging and plugging back in the power cord to the mic are what fixed it, if anyone is reading this the way shown in the video does work, hopefully reading this will help if your friends complain of echos in the party chat

For whatever reason, the xbox party chat seems to pick up the mic while doing this method, but PUBG doesn't recognize the mic. Made sure to double check PUBG Settings and that it's set to open mic too. I have a Blue Yeti. Also tried doing the Y Splitter on the xbox controller to the USB mic and same deal, party chat recognizes the mic but not PUBG. I don't play cod so I can't test that, don't really play a whole lot of online multiplayer games on console.
I have heard this I haven't had time to test it though. When I had aissue with COD I would disconnect and then reconnect to Game Pass while fortnite is open try that see if it helps
Any idea on how to configure/ utilize a mixamp? Specifically the Astro a40 mixamp. I have a pc, Xbox series X, usb mic, & some high quality earbuds, but I cannot figure out how to tie all these products together to use them on Xbox.
I run a similar way. In ear monitors with Astro mix amp and external mic. I’m assuming I would just plug the mix amp into my Xbox via usb, with my in ear monitors in the mix amp. Then use the method covered in the video to run the external mic.
I’ve followed this video and the mic is connected… but the mic is picking up the game noise and chat from the party… my expectations were to use this as my method of communication when playing online (call of duty!) I did use the Kinect before buying the series X which of course is no longer compatible. Do you have any further advice on blocking out the game and party chat audio from the tv? The Kinect did this automatically….
Quick question, so say i have a wireless headset for my xbox with a detachable mic thats already bluetooth connected to my xbox. But i also have a nice quality condenser mic. Can i have the headset with the detachable mic taken out & do this to use the condenser mic to talk while using the headset for audio to listen? Because thats what i would like to do
Yea so it's been a while since I've actually done this method but if memory serves me right I had this issue in COD. so what I did is have the game open disconnect from remote play on the PC and Xbox and then reconnect while the game is up this seem to fix my audio issues for hearing game chat and voice chat and all that if I remember correctly. Give that a try especially if you're playing Call of Duty.
So like I do that and do the remote play and I’ll be in party chat and even discord. I can see the mic working but I can’t hear anybody else. I can hear in game audio from the game and console, but nobody talking.

So it needs to be a wirless headset, or you can try plugging your headset into the pc and using it that way. And your wirless headset can have a mic as long as you can mute it. That's what i was able to do with mine anyway.

Some people ran into this I did not. Best thing is to make sure you are wired on both pc and xbox and open xbox ports if possible. I heard these things help

This method won't work for streaming you can't remote stream at the same time as streaming for the console to twitch. You can remote stream to the pc then stream to twitch form the pc using stream labs I have a video on that as well.
so this got my mic working in a party and game(mw2) but if im in game chat it auto mutes everyone and you cant unmute them. any ideas why or a fix to this problem?
This was a big help but I am having a weird issue when I try to remote connect to the console it gives me the spaceship animation then goes to a black screen for a few mins i am remote playing but then it kicks me off I have tried every trouble shooting idea I can think of please help !!!
It's probably connection with the internet to be honest are you wired or wireless? Try restarting you router before doing it and port forward you xbox in the router it self
@@PughsReview well I thought that too…I was having this same issue on my last laptop it was time for a upgrade so I thought that might help plus I put a router extender right next to the Xbox and hardwired ÎT directly to the Xbox and still have the issue…I am able to remote play on my phone with no issues it’s only the laptop that does this
@darkavenger234 I would try it all lol process of elimination start with the easiest method and work you way up. Also make sure the ethernet cable is good. What are your internet speeds?
Crazy the only way we can get a usb headset with audio and video at the same time to work on Xbox is with a full pc/laptop as well, like how has someone not made a remote that has a functioning usb port for this yet, it seems to be a big problem, even if Microsoft themselves made it they would probably make a good amount on it as well
You w9nt be able to use a wired headset throught the xbox cause it will pull all audio through that including mic I believe but you could always hook the headset up to the pc and mute the mic on it or use a wirless headset with the xbox.

Wouldn’t you just plug the headphones into the pc as well? Since it’s also streaming audio to it. Then just mute your tv

You can't remote stream to the pc while streaming from the xbox to twitch btw.
For a camera you can always use your phone to get started cheap and good quality

I tried this method and once I connect my usb mic I wasn’t able to hear my team mates in party anymore
While the game is loaded on the xbox disconnect from remote stream the reconnect this fix it for me and make sure setting are right as well.
My brother did all of this and it’s showing it’s working on the laptop but not on the console or when we “test mic” on audio settings in call of duty

@PughsReview I believe I figured it out
I went into the properties of the blue yeti on my pc and lowered its volume down and I believe that fixed it, because that was the only notable change I made.
I did attempt to use a set of hyperX headphones and I did detach the removable mic but that actually for some reason completely cut my (playback audio) that the yeti is able to perform....tbh I think the volume being lowered and me just unplugging and plugging back in the power cord to the mic are what fixed it, if anyone is reading this the way shown in the video does work, hopefully reading this will help if your friends complain of echos in the party chat
bro help me, i did this and it work fine but when i plug my headset in to my controller afterwards it dosnt work. i think it just switches to my headset mic but my headset mic doesnt work

For whatever reason, the xbox party chat seems to pick up the mic while doing this method, but PUBG doesn't recognize the mic. Made sure to double check PUBG Settings and that it's set to open mic too. I have a Blue Yeti. Also tried doing the Y Splitter on the xbox controller to the USB mic and same deal, party chat recognizes the mic but not PUBG. I don't play cod so I can't test that, don't really play a whole lot of online multiplayer games on console.
i would say it has to be a setting in pubg then to be honest.

I have heard this I haven't had time to test it though. When I had aissue with COD I would disconnect and then reconnect to Game Pass while fortnite is open try that see if it helps

Any idea on how to configure/ utilize a mixamp? Specifically the Astro a40 mixamp. I have a pc, Xbox series X, usb mic, & some high quality earbuds, but I cannot figure out how to tie all these products together to use them on Xbox.

I run a similar way. In ear monitors with Astro mix amp and external mic. I’m assuming I would just plug the mix amp into my Xbox via usb, with my in ear monitors in the mix amp. Then use the method covered in the video to run the external mic.

I’ve followed this video and the mic is connected… but the mic is picking up the game noise and chat from the party… my expectations were to use this as my method of communication when playing online (call of duty!) I did use the Kinect before buying the series X which of course is no longer compatible. Do you have any further advice on blocking out the game and party chat audio from the tv? The Kinect did this automatically….
Quick question, so say i have a wireless headset for my xbox with a detachable mic thats already bluetooth connected to my xbox. But i also have a nice quality condenser mic. Can i have the headset with the detachable mic taken out & do this to use the condenser mic to talk while using the headset for audio to listen? Because thats what i would like to do

Yea so it's been a while since I've actually done this method but if memory serves me right I had this issue in COD. so what I did is have the game open disconnect from remote play on the PC and Xbox and then reconnect while the game is up this seem to fix my audio issues for hearing game chat and voice chat and all that if I remember correctly. Give that a try especially if you're playing Call of Duty.
So like I do that and do the remote play and I’ll be in party chat and even discord. I can see the mic working but I can’t hear anybody else. I can hear in game audio from the game and console, but nobody talking.

So it needs to be a wirless headset, or you can try plugging your headset into the pc and using it that way. And your wirless headset can have a mic as long as you can mute it. That's what i was able to do with mine anyway.

Some people ran into this I did not. Best thing is to make sure you are wired on both pc and xbox and open xbox ports if possible. I heard these things help
hey question, so for call of duty. i want to be able to talk to other players on xbox gamechat. warzone etc my mic is ocnnected to pc, i have elgato, chatlink connected. i can hear them perfectly i just cant talk to gamechat with mic connected to pc. i can open xbox app start party talk to friends but the goal is voice chat. Any recommendations?

that's a good question i am not sure i can look into it but you could always use this method to stream to twitch from stream labs i have a video step by step on it.

Yeah you won't be able to you can though download streamlabs or OBS and go live with your stream using your computer with the remote play

This method won't work for streaming you can't remote stream at the same time as streaming for the console to twitch. You can remote stream to the pc then stream to twitch form the pc using stream labs I have a video on that as well.
so this got my mic working in a party and game(mw2) but if im in game chat it auto mutes everyone and you cant unmute them. any ideas why or a fix to this problem?

Plug the headset up to the pc problem solved. You can't use wired headset on xbox for this method
This was a big help but I am having a weird issue when I try to remote connect to the console it gives me the spaceship animation then goes to a black screen for a few mins i am remote playing but then it kicks me off I have tried every trouble shooting idea I can think of please help !!!
It's probably connection with the internet to be honest are you wired or wireless? Try restarting you router before doing it and port forward you xbox in the router it self
@@PughsReview well I thought that too…I was having this same issue on my last laptop it was time for a upgrade so I thought that might help plus I put a router extender right next to the Xbox and hardwired ÎT directly to the Xbox and still have the issue…I am able to remote play on my phone with no issues it’s only the laptop that does this

@darkavenger234 I would try it all lol process of elimination start with the easiest method and work you way up. Also make sure the ethernet cable is good. What are your internet speeds?

Crazy the only way we can get a usb headset with audio and video at the same time to work on Xbox is with a full pc/laptop as well, like how has someone not made a remote that has a functioning usb port for this yet, it seems to be a big problem, even if Microsoft themselves made it they would probably make a good amount on it as well

You w9nt be able to use a wired headset throught the xbox cause it will pull all audio through that including mic I believe but you could always hook the headset up to the pc and mute the mic on it or use a wirless headset with the xbox.
