If you search for AC Origins starting tips almost every video was uploaded the day/week of release and is essentially the CC's "early impressions/tips". If those people aren't going to take down the videos as they're now essentially irrelevant, they should at least properly update the titles. This video is so comprehensive and so well put together it needs to be the number one search result. Bravo.

Some more tips: 1.Using a smoke bomb makes fighting much easier. 2.At a camp, light the braziers yourself, when you are ready for it. And harvest the reinforcements by killing them and getting (some) weapons. 3.To harvest ships, use a standard method. For instance, near the big ships at their rear, climb the wooden structure, etc. 4.When trying to rob small ships, take care that the loot carrier opponent does not drown in the water. Otherwise you must dive after him, to look for the sinking loot.
This video is proof that the most viewed videos aren't always the best. I saw 5 or 6 other videos recommended before this one, but this was far and away the most helpful of the bunch. Thank you.
One tip: make sure to light the torches and the fire places when exploring dark places. It helps light the area up more and can help finding the way back out
I've been playing Origins for a while now but still feel lost about some things. So I started watching a few videos on the game but none of them answered the questions I had. Then I watched this one. You definitely cover everything and give great explanations about the weapons, tools, leveling up, etc. Thank you for this. Almost makes me want to restart my game with this knowledge.

Just started playing Origins last night. Went for 6 hours straight. Your video is AMAZING! So many other videos have outdated info. This one is the MOST informative and up-to-date. Even after 5 years. Thanks for giving me the knowledge in understanding the mechanics of the game, thus me having a better time. It’ll get even better since I have a Gold Predator Bow that I will deff be holding onto throughout my play through!
I’m here in January 2023, as I just got back to Origins again after several years and completing Odyssey and Valhalla in the meantime. I’ve missed Origins so much I have to play it again!

Oh that’s a good question… After some thought, I’ve come to the conclusion that I enjoyed Odyssey the most because I’ve been to Greece several times and also have an interest in the old Greek mythology and history. Gameplay vise I loved all the variations of gear, weapons and the atmosphere was just so on point. The same can be said about Origins too, I love the ancient Egyptian history, and Origins was my first ever Assassins creed that I’ve felt completely free in an amazing and diverse world. Valhalla I like, I’m Norwegian, so I do recognize a lot of the history and characters, and I find the Viking age really fascinating. I just found a bit boring to run the entire game with one good set of gear. Origins and Odyssey gave the freedom to loot SO MANY things, and dismantle and upgrade etc etc. It was so simple, yet so brilliantly diverse! The variety wasn’t really there in Valhalla imo. But the story and atmosphere is fantastic in Valhalla too tho. Thanks for asking! :)

Same here. Came after finishing Odyssey, which, at first, i didn't expect much of but came to actually enjoy it. Went for AC Origins after hearing about the crocodiles, since i really like their addition in the AC games.

For someone that just started getting into the Assassins Creed games a couple of years ago, I've been playing them in the order they were released. I just beat Syndicate and it's DLC a couple weeks ago. So I started playing Origins recently and was surprised how differently it's set up compared to previous AC games. @@GamerGrade Well, I started with Odyssey because I am Greek and I was curious to see the whole concept. Which it turned out good, since Odyssey is before Origins chronologically. When I started the Origins I was very anxious about all the new fighting mechanics but I was able to adjust very quickly so I am good so far. I am so captivated with the story and I enjoy every moment playing. The only thing I miss from Odyssey, is the ability to jump off heights without taking any damage 😂 I haven't found the time to check on your other videos but I will soon. Thanks again 😊
Unfortunately as much as i wanted to play Odyssey, i never got round to it. Ive heard a lot of players say its better than Origins, while others say Origins is better, so it will be good to hear your opinion once you've finished with it. What i can confirm is Origins is up there with the best games ive played :) 👍
@@GamerGrade Ok, I am going to put aside my greek heritage and I 'll be as fair as I can. Odyssey 's fighting mechanisms are way different, for example, you don't have a shield (which, btw, I still don't know how to use it and I am on 44 lvl 😂😂), but you parry to stun your opponents. There are 3 branches of abilities, hunter-warrior-assassin, so you can work your way with them, depending on your gameplay. Also, some are passive but some of them you must equip them in order to use them. This makes things hard but you can change them while you're fighting if you find they're not suitable for the enemy you're fighting. Another difference is that your armor gives you stats as well, it's not just a decorative suit. I have heard that Odyssey doesn't consist with the Assassins creed concept and maybe that's true up to a point. You 'll get to meet the first assassin, a male or female, depending on who you want to be your main character. He/she hunts down cultists that want to kill hunt his/her family to kill them because their blood is special. You learn how the order started, who were the Isu (you actually get to meet them in the dlc's),things that add to the story and give more information about them. Graphics are beautiful, the landscape is Greek alright. You 'll get to fight mythical creatures and animals (man, that poison-farting boar was a huge pain 😂😂). Ubisoft made a great job in representation of the ancient monuments we now see only their ruins. All in all, it is a great game, way different than Origins. I like Origins better, because of the mysticism and because here is where the actual story begins. I stopped playing the main story just before I kill Flavius and I am going through the map to do all the question marks and tombs, trying to enjoy the game before I jump to the dlc's. I am not sure if I answered your question right, for anything else, I am here 😁
@@GamerGrade edit: You 'll get a ship in Odyssey (which has a separate section on the menu and it's upgradable) because, you know, Greece is surrounded by sea, so you 'll get to have many battles in the ocean, chasing pirates, cultists and Greeks. The Phylakes in Odyssey, are being called Mercenaries, there is a whole section on the menu about them. And they are too many, they actually never end, because once you kill all of them, new ones show up to fill in their place. You 'll get to take part in battles between Athenians and Spartans (that was my most fun part once I upgraded my gear and abilities). And last but not least, decisions. In most of the game, you'll have to take decisions which will affect the future and you will see the results as you go farther in your game

I would love to see the same treatment for Odyssey! I know you havent gotten around to that game yet, but if you love this game then you'll love Odyssey. It's almost the same game except you gain new equipment over upgrading it, and no shields. The world is bigger, and you get a ship that is upgradeable. The mercenary system (similar to the bounty hunter thing here) is almost similar to how shadows of mordor handles it (infinite amount of named NPCs can come after you) and theres a cultist tree where you hunt key targets, which is fully optional. The DLC also jumped max level to 99 which is my personal favorite thing. I felt origins low level cap made exp a waste. Just my 2 cents

Just started playing Origins last night. Went for 6 hours straight. Your video is AMAZING! So many other videos have outdated info. This one is the MOST informative and up-to-date. Even after 5 years. Thanks for giving me the knowledge in understanding the mechanics of the game, thus me having a better time. I’m here in January 2023, as I just got back to Origins again after several years and completing Odyssey and Valhalla in the meantime. I’ve missed Origins so much I have to play it again!

Oh that’s a good question… After some thought, I’ve come to the conclusion that I enjoyed Odyssey the most because I’ve been to Greece several times and also have an interest in the old Greek mythology and history. Gameplay vise I loved all the variations of gear, weapons and the atmosphere was just so on point. The same can be said about Origins too, I love the ancient Egyptian history, and Origins was my first ever Assassins creed that I’ve felt completely free in an amazing and diverse world. Valhalla I like, I’m Norwegian, so I do recognize a lot of the history and characters, and I find the Viking age really fascinating. I just found a bit boring to run the entire game with one good set of gear. Origins and Odyssey gave the freedom to loot SO MANY things, and dismantle and upgrade etc etc. It was so simple, yet so brilliantly diverse! The variety wasn’t really there in Valhalla imo. But the story and atmosphere is fantastic in Valhalla too tho. Thanks for asking! :)

You should play them both if you’re a fan of the franchise. And you will recognize the big difference, yet similarities between Valhalla and Origins and Odyssey. Great game, but as I mentioned, it lacks the variety of loot and gear.

For someone that just started getting into the Assassins Creed games a couple of years ago, I've been playing them in the order they were released. I just beat Syndicate and it's DLC a couple weeks ago. So I started playing Origins recently and was surprised how differently it's set up compared to previous AC games. @@GamerGrade Well, I started with Odyssey because I am Greek and I was curious to see the whole concept. Which it turned out good, since Odyssey is before Origins chronologically. When I started the Origins I was very anxious about all the new fighting mechanics but I was able to adjust very quickly so I am good so far. I am so captivated with the story and I enjoy every moment playing. The only thing I miss from Odyssey, is the ability to jump off heights without taking any damage 😂

Unfortunately as much as i wanted to play Odyssey, i never got round to it. Ive heard a lot of players say its better than Origins, while others say Origins is better, so it will be good to hear your opinion once you've finished with it. What i can confirm is Origins is up there with the best games ive played :) 👍
@@GamerGrade Ok, I am going to put aside my greek heritage and I 'll be as fair as I can.
Odyssey 's fighting mechanisms are way different, for example, you don't have a shield (which, btw, I still don't know how to use it and I am on 44 lvl 😂😂), but you parry to stun your opponents. There are 3 branches of abilities, hunter-warrior-assassin, so you can work your way with them, depending on your gameplay. Also, some are passive but some of them you must equip them in order to use them. This makes things hard but you can change them while you're fighting if you find they're not suitable for the enemy you're fighting. Another difference is that your armor gives you stats as well, it's not just a decorative suit. I have heard that Odyssey doesn't consist with the Assassins creed concept and maybe that's true up to a point. You 'll get to meet the first assassin, a male or female, depending on who you want to be your main character. He/she hunts down cultists that want to kill hunt his/her family to kill them because their blood is special.
You learn how the order started, who were the Isu (you actually get to meet them in the dlc's),things that add to the story and give more information about them.
Graphics are beautiful, the landscape is Greek alright. You 'll get to fight mythical creatures and animals (man, that poison-farting boar was a huge pain 😂😂).
Ubisoft made a great job in representation of the ancient monuments we now see only their ruins.
All in all, it is a great game, way different than Origins.
I like Origins better, because of the mysticism and because here is where the actual story begins. I stopped playing the main story just before I kill Flavius and I am going through the map to do all the question marks and tombs, trying to enjoy the game before I jump to the dlc's. I am not sure if I answered your question right, for anything else, I am here 😁

You 'll get a ship in Odyssey (which has a separate section on the menu and it's upgradable) because, you know, Greece is surrounded by sea, so you 'll get to have many battles in the ocean, chasing pirates, cultists and Greeks.
The Phylakes in Odyssey, are being called Mercenaries, there is a whole section on the menu about them. And they are too many, they actually never end, because once you kill all of them, new ones show up to fill in their place.
You 'll get to take part in battles between Athenians and Spartans (that was my most fun part once I upgraded my gear and abilities).
And last but not least, decisions.
In most of the game, you'll have to take decisions which will affect the future and you will see the results as you go farther in your game

So far this is one of my favorite AC games after AC2 and Black Flag. I played Syndicate and Valhalla but they were not as much fun.

I would love to see the same treatment for Odyssey! I know you havent gotten around to that game yet, but if you love this game then you'll love Odyssey.
It's almost the same game except you gain new equipment over upgrading it, and no shields. The world is bigger, and you get a ship that is upgradeable.
The mercenary system (similar to the bounty hunter thing here) is almost similar to how shadows of mordor handles it (infinite amount of named NPCs can come after you) and theres a cultist tree where you hunt key targets, which is fully optional.
The DLC also jumped max level to 99 which is my personal favorite thing. I felt origins low level cap made exp a waste.

Yes i would have loved to have played and covered Odyssey like i did Origins!
Even though i planned to do this, sadly i never found the time 😡
