My son & I love your videos. We’re both fairly new to fishing. He joined his high school’s fishing team & we’ve learned so much from you two. Thanks for all of the info.
Hey guys. My name is Esteban Medina I love bass fishing 🎣 and with that I'm going to say that the lake I fish here in north Carolina is lake Hickory and lookout shouls we don't have much grass but I do fish the lip less crank on rocky bottom and man the way you guys taught me how to fish it. It works even on that rocky bottom. Thank you for that lesson on the lip less crank. Keep catching them guys. Cause I sure am.
I watched Tim’s video from about a year ago last week. Picked up an LV500 and absolutely crushed it Saturday. Never have seen to hop a lipless. Caught two 5,12”s, three more over 4 and three over three. One of the most fun days I’ve ever experienced. Learning a lot from you guys, thanks for putting these together!
I listen to these videos on the ride in the am taking the boys to school and they love it. they asked this morning if this is a lure you do burn burn burn pause with and it gave me a good laugh! even the youngens know whats good!
I love your videos! I have learned so much in the short time I've started fishing from you. Thanks for all you do. Keep getting them fish and have a great day.
My favorite technique! I bought the 855 last year, what a fun rod with the curado 70 just amazing, thank you for sharing your thoughts and equipment, have learned so much from you guys over the years!
Thanks for another great video. I gotta get more time in on the Lipless this year. Not one of my confidence baits unfortunately, but I see a lot of people doing tons of damage with them.
Lets get it great morning TB family. Can you tell ke how you carried your rods when you traveled to Guyana? I'm planning on heading back for a fishing trip. I was born and raised in Guyana. Still hoping you all drop that video of your time back in my beautiful country.
I haven't paid attention to the time of year but I have caught some pretty good fish slow rolling a lipless like a squarebill across rocky points. Just wearing the paint off the nose of the bait but they usually crush it
I love love you guys! I needed that video for my upcoming tournament at DVL Southern California lake I’m sure you boys have fished it I went out practice fishing and couldn’t get that quality bite probably 60 shorts pretty frustrating actually but I think this just might get me some quality bites that I’m going to need thanks for helping me read the water just that much better I appreciate your guys work and love seeing you two in action out there on the water, really impressive
Oh I loving The lipless crankbait bite right now just tore them up yesterday! Hey I got a big 6 and 1/2. Just barely hooked. You talk about panicking on a kayak but boy he hit that thing like a truck burn paws for the win! I was ripping that ripping that ripping that next thing I know I paused it for one second then boom
I live in the Pacific Northwest, I fish for smallies in the Colombia river what do you suggest I throw right now up here? Water temps been in the low 50’s
I haven't seen you guys use the Nishine Lure Works Simcoe 75 and Simcoe 75HW. Those were my two best lipless cranks all season. The laser sharp Ichikawa hooks really help keep fish pinned... I'm curious what your thoughts are on them.
I watched this video and immediately grabbed up my son, hit the lake for a quick trip. We only had 2 hours till dark and we crushed em. Your retrieval worked perfect. I did keep a top water tied on to throw at the ones I seen busting and got one on that. Side note… it was a wired bite they hit every one on the fall and the first 3 I wasn’t sure was a bite lol. Thought I was in the grass are something. Anyway thanks for the tip. Also we only got one little guy 1.5 lbs. the rest was 3 pounders and up to a 4pounder that really had a 6 pounder frame. He was built like a greyhound lol. Thanks again.
That's awesome!! And that's not a weird bite, they'll do that to you a lot. They tag it on the Fall and your next lift turns into an unexpected hookset. I think we only feel that hard thump when they hit it head on instead of running in behind it.
That makes sense. My son was begging his mom to let him skip school today so we could fish all day. It was his first time catching them on a lipless, but he was unsuccessful well that battle lol. We will be after again next week though. He’s out for a week for thanksgiving and already sent me a list of colors and sizes to pick up for him. Lol. Thanks again we will be watching for more tips.
I know this is hard... but if you had to pick one rod to fish 1/2 oz square bills, 1/2 oz jack hammers on, and 1/2 oz lipless baits what direction should I look in? the biggest fish I come across usually is about 5 pounds. I have been debating between 7' M and 7'2MH. Expride glass or the st Croix finesse cranker or carbon cranker.
Need help!! When I try to hop a lipless in shallow water on a long cast there is a guarantee it will hang the bottom (i.e. rocks). Tried 1/4 oz, heavy line, etc. ? What’s the secret?
Matt I have a swim bait rod question. I know you use the SLX 7’8 but what about the 7’3 version? I have the 7’8 and love it and was thinking of getting the 7’3. What is it best for?
hey y'all, wondering if you swap out the hooks on the 1/2 oz original rat-l-trap or if you keep the stock ones - looks like it comes with mustad ewgs but i'm curious about switching cause i am losing some fish whereas it looks like yall can just horse them to the boat. thanks!
I don't know what time or Matt do,but I like to get at least a long casts worth when I'm fishing a moving bait making alot of casts.I don't want that connection knot going thru my guides getting worn down and I don't want the pressure of the hookset to be on that knot either. My two cents, hope they answer🎣
I have several of the Swim Trex lipless cranks. Haven’t had much luck with them, but I’m sure there is some user error involved. Love the action on them, just need more practice with it.
@@tacticalbassinI just ordered some of the “Max” size lipless along with the hook upgrades you suggested. Should have everything in 5 days. Fingers crossed 😀.
Two years ago these guys told us to do this and I went to my lake and finally tried it and my first fish doing this was a 10.80 needless to say it won me over LOL
"This is Matt's only one too, so we are going to be racing to get some" Matt in the back of the boat while Tim is talking: "order placed" Tim later: "SOLD OUT?! MATT!!!!!!"
Very few, less than 10% for sure. It just comes down to fishing style. We use it as a tool to shorten our time spent but not usually as a direct fish catching device.
Am I the only one who wishes they sold crank baits WITHOUT hooks and let us add our own? It just makes sense to offer the body and let us upgrade the hooks. Maybe they don’t add much of a cost, but it sure seems like a waste to put cheap hooks on a bait. Take the Stunna for example. The stock hooks are absolute garbage and break off much too easily. If I’m spending that much on a lure, give me the option to put better hooks on it or simply give me better hooks to begin with.
Not everyone has hours & hours a day changing hooks for 1 reason...2) Megabass vision 110 hooks...u think they are good? Sharp, but they bend out...quality jerkbaits have lightwire, sharp hooks for a reason...use the right line & set the drag correctly for those type of baits
Good one Tim and Matt thanks.Ripping the grass in the fall may be the best bite all year in the northeast. As you guys no they want to take the rod right out of your hands lol.
Leaving the house right now with the ranger, and deck full of 845cbr’s, 735cb champxp’s with tn70’s, 50’s, quake 70’s.. mad trap bite in So IL right now, thnx record heat! P.s. hands hurt from swapping hooks at 430am til 515-ish lol Texas tackle yellow handles for the WIN, their not yellow anymore but that 15$ years ago, saved me thousands from carpal tunnel surgery!
Why is it that the majority of the time you guys upgrade the hooks on all these crank baits. With what we spend on these things these days you think they have better hooks on them right from the manufacture.
They only recommended upgrading 2 of the baits. Some just don't have high quality stock hardware but the action/sound/profile is still what you are after. Some stock split rings bend out easy, it's just the reality.
Also, these guys always want to be prepared for double digit bass, and it would be a shame to miss out on the fish of a lifetime for a few bucks. With that being said, you were absolutely right. It’s ridiculous that bates cost as much as they do with crappy hardware.
The 6th Sense Quake comes with really good hooks. In my lake a 7# fish is colossal so I’m comfortable with them. Any hook on a trap or cheaper 1/2oz bait I immediately change along with split rings
@andybales7318 some of them will barely stick into my finger even if I put pressure. Gamakatsu nano trebles will get stuck in my skin by accident. If I have a bass swiping at a bait, I'd prefer the hooks that are sharper!
Was great meeting y’all Saturday my son wouldn’t stop talking about it we enjoy y’all’s videos. Y’all made his day
It was great to meet you too! Thanks for coming out! He was sure a nice young man, you're doing a great job with him.

Finally a video with both of you guys. We don’t see that too often anymore. Love these videos with both of you swingin on fish 👍🏼
Thanks! It's hard with 6 videos a week... it takes twice as long if we're together... but we miss it too! These are the fun days for sure!!

Absolutely love the combo of fishing and teaching in one video. Not only seeing the baits but actually seeing how you fish them.
I listen to these videos on the ride in the am taking the boys to school and they love it. they asked this morning if this is a lure you do burn burn burn pause with and it gave me a good laugh! even the youngens know whats good!
hey! thats my dock in that first spot little ones school like crazy right there! awesome to see you there!
I love your videos! I have learned so much in the short time I've started fishing from you. Thanks for all you do. Keep getting them fish and have a great day.
This technique was great for me in the spring over shallow grass.
My favorite technique! I bought the 855 last year, what a fun rod with the curado 70 just amazing, thank you for sharing your thoughts and equipment, have learned so much from you guys over the years!
Great video guys! Thanks for all the time and effort you guys put into creating these videos! I've benefited greatly from them!
Thank You!! Great content that is appreciated!
Just cannot say this enough but Thank you for all you do.
Thanks for another great video. I gotta get more time in on the Lipless this year. Not one of my confidence baits unfortunately, but I see a lot of people doing tons of damage with them.
Great video, Matt and Tim
Damn mainland time change. Thanks!
Ha! Sorry!!

Another great video. I am curious why you use mono leaders instead of FC. Is there a specific reason for this?
I hope to toss some lipless crankbaits and jerkbaits during some RECORD HEAT in Chicago today!
same 53 degrees right now! gotta love Illinois weather
Throw a blade bait…. Red hook in front. Saw a guy catch a 4.7lb smallie yesterday on one.

Hey I can do that with bluegills ,love the lv500 and the technique of.hoping, stripers in the delta love that presentation, good video
The trap is my favorite bait ,6 since 4 k shad ,5/8. Also striking 1/2 ounce natural shad and 3/4 thanks.

Speaking of colors. Do you adopt any principles like sunny go with more flash and cloudy stick with more matte ?
Need tips for bank fishing ponds and smaller lakes
Matt I have a swim bait rod question. I know you use the SLX 7’8 but what about the 7’3 version? I have the 7’8 and love it and was thinking of getting the 7’3. What is it best for?

Thanks for the info. How long of a leader do you use when using braid to flouro/Mono for crankbaits?

Have you guys ever thrown
Mach Baits’ Slack Jaw?
It’s excellent in shallow waters.
I'd love to see a friendly competition between you two next year on an outing.
I have several of the Swim Trex lipless cranks. Haven’t had much luck with them, but I’m sure there is some user error involved. Love the action on them, just need more practice with it.
Do you have swimtrex or swimtrex max? There are some major differences between them, definitely two different applications.
@@tacticalbassin.. I have the regular Swim Trex. I believe it’s the 5/8th oz, the smaller of the two baits.
@@tacticalbassinI just ordered some of the “Max” size lipless along with the hook upgrades you suggested. Should have everything in 5 days. Fingers crossed 😀.
How long of a leader do you guys normally run?
Going to order a TB hoodie. That should help me catch more fish.
with the new tw site its kind of hard to select which rod is the correct one site doesn't reference 855 im assuming it's the 7'1" thanx 🎣
How long of a leader do you recommend?
They are reeling these fish in from the next county. Seriously gotta work on my casting game
Ring around the Casty. 😂. You guys seem too work together pretty good
Two years ago these guys told us to do this and I went to my lake and finally tried it and my first fish doing this was a 10.80 needless to say it won me over LOL
Old Tim was channeling his son JD out there.Every time Matt would hook one Tim would jump up to the front of that boat 😂
"This is Matt's only one too, so we are going to be racing to get some"
Matt in the back of the boat while Tim is talking: "order placed"
Tim later: "SOLD OUT?! MATT!!!!!!"
What state yaw in?
Imagine sitting in one spot just pulling fish cast after cast. I wonder what thats like 😊
What percentage of the total amount of fish you catch do you think are the result of FFS?
Very few, less than 10% for sure. It just comes down to fishing style. We use it as a tool to shorten our time spent but not usually as a direct fish catching device.
I’m going out and take all my lipless I all colors size
Clinic!

🤣😂🤣😂 Tim is the “White Bass Master” 🤣😂
Good one Tim and Matt thanks.Ripping the grass in the fall may be the best bite all year in the northeast. As you guys no they want to take the rod right out of your hands lol.
I thought you guys were hardcore Champion boat drivers. What happened to those?
When I upgrade the hooks it tends to mess with the action of my baits.
