Many thanks! Yes the instructions say to take the wheel off, but we did not want to give away the newer bigger wheels when we made the video and kind of went for the easiest way to install them. Thanks for watching!
I finally used it on my racer, I had it in my back pocket as I had a cut in my tubeless tyre and it was slowly going down. As I couldn't get it booked in to change the tyre I used it half way around on a ride, it was really good, much better than the small pump I have on my mountain bike and better than some bigger pumps I've had, I've since used it both shrader & presta ends
I can’t be the only one who has a trouble putting on the bracelets. The screw isn’t catching at the bottom. I finally got the bottom one but can’t get the top. When I add the screw away from the bike, it goes right in and catches. This shouldn’t be a problem but it is.

This isn't a pump made especially for Brompton or it would fit the standard mount without the kludge of parts you have to use. Looks like a Road Drive with a Brompton logo. I'd rather keep it in the bag to be honest.
The original pumps still work perfectly well for what they are (emergency pumps) and the brompton C line frames still have the fitting for them built into the rear triangle Brompton are also still currently selling the old pump The 2 speed (urban) and 3 speed (utility) no longer come with a pump So you could choose to buy an "old style" Zefal or "new style" Lezyne - and they would both do the job So currently they are not as far as we know discontinued or selling in bulk or as collectors items on e-bay

I just bought the Brompton Lezyne pump, and found that the 7" width of the inner box wasn't sufficient to allow fitting the pump when fully compressed. I had to increase the distance to almost 7.2". Using the pump to determine the distance between clamps works, of course, but I wonder why my pump doesn't compress as much as it apparently should.
Regarding something other than the pump... can you tell us what is the shiny SILVER DISC forming part of the chain tensioner? 7:30 My tensioner is all black, no silver at all. Has something changed.. ? ... (other than the pump) Thank you.
Hi and thanks for watching yet again :-) There are two chain tensioners: 1 / 3 speed (i.e. no derailleur) version - has the silver disk 2 / 6 speed (derailleur) version - has two black jockey wheels So we guess your bike is a 2 or 6 speed version
Plastic threads.. unlike the Lezyne branded pumps on the shelf next to it that are all cast aluminum construction, the female threaded fitting on the pump body (the end where the air comes out) that accepts the ABS hose has soft plastic threading that was easily damaged by the metal threads of the flex tubing. Buyer beware, hopefully this gets addressed in a future revision.
Love lezyne products, got one small digital version but not a fan of this mount on the frame with additional plastic mounts not really slick leaving the former place empty too.
I noticed that the head of the pump isn't fully enclosed by the mount as the smaller end is. It would feel more secure if the top mount was a larger diameter IMHO.
its a real shame this new pump doesn't just fit onto to original fixings. Surely it could have been done maybe with some additional brackets on each end to let it fit.
Many thanks for watching and the question. Your local Brompton junction would be the best place to have a look, I have popped a link to the store locator for Brompton for you www.brompton.com/find-a-store
Thanks for watching - and taking the time comment We have found the previous pump to be good enough as an emergency ride pump - and conveniently stored on the frame so we don't forget it. Never lost one, and they never let us down
Thanks for watching and the question Yes - the C Line explore comes with the new Lezyne pump (the Urban 2 speed and Utility 3 speed don't come with a pump any more) The tool we use is this one: www.parktool.com/product/quick-change-bit-driver-set-qth-1 It's a handy multi tool - we like the magnets which mean it can be kept on the work stand - close to hand
It would be interesting for you to pump the tyres as hard as you can, then use a gauge to check the actual pressure. I am not convinced that you could even achieve 100 psi let alone their claimed maximum. Now that’s a challenge for you.
Thanks for watching, Now that is a great idea - how about this .... Install an in-line pressure gauge on a tube (we can only find for Presta valve - but don't think that should make that much difference) Pump using the old pump Pump using the new pump Pump using an alternative with a built in pressure gauge and see how accurate it is Pump using a track pump Pump using a CO2 cartridge and for each one also check with a digital gauge?
The complaints circulating about that one the entire time it's been a part of the Brompton experience is that it can't get above 50 psi. I'm curious if this is to address that or if this is to address a parts shortage
@@NoZenith I personally feel it would not be very elegant (not a very Brompton solution) for current Brompton owners with older models to install this second pump top of the existing pump just to have an emergency pump that can get over 50psi.... I don't know what's better/worse, to have a blank dedicated pump bracket or have both pump installed!
@@WackySchmackyO did you watch the video? You don't install this over the existing pump, you remove the existing pump that doesn't work well and replace with this. Yes less elegant than the existing spring-loaded pump that fits in dedicated brasings but much more functional. If you can only get to 50 pounds after struggling, most people won't get anywhere above 45lb which isn't even half what the average recommended pressure would be for an adult
@@NoZenith of course I have mate! I don't mean literally top 🤣. Again just a personal opinion. Just a bit ugly to have both pumps or empty brackets. Lose the Brompton OEM feel! I would not care as the pump to me is for emergencies!
@@WackySchmackyO I just worry about creating another flat/ ruining the wheel. I mostly ride in cities and we have pretty terrible roads around here so there are a lot of imperfections whether you're jumping a curbe or hitting a pothole or just the gaps in the sidewalk where it's heaved, I am not a heavy Rider but it still recommended for somebody at my weight to ride on the Marathon Racers around 80 PSI. I got a Crank Brothers klic HP but it doesn't seem to be working. I need to contact them because it took an additional month-and-a-half to get my bike and I think I'm outside the return window of the shop I bought it at. Sad that I'm going to be the first negative review on what is otherwise a rather ingenious pump that everyone seems to love.
This seems to have the common shortcoming of portable pumps in that it lacks an integrated pressure gauge. With the screw on valve fitting, trying to achieve the right pressure would be annoying (remove hose while twirling the attached pump, fit gauge, remove, replace hose, pump some more, etc). So this pump looks ok for roadside top ups but you’d want a floor pump for regular use. While it’s fine if the pump is included with the bike, I’m honestly not sure why one would buy this aftermarket vs. a CO2 inflator at a fraction the weight, size, and effort.
Thanks for watching - and great comments We agree - this would be an emergency pump (for roadside repair) - and would always recommend a track pump for checking / regular top-ups at home We guess the benefit of this / the original Brompton pump is that they would always be on the bike - we've gone out riding before and forgotten the CO2 (Mountain biking that is) We also haven't tried using CO2 on a Brompton - not sure how much volume of air/CO2 it needs compared to a road bike (quite a lot less we think) - anyone have experience of this?
The new Brompton pump has a metal thread on each end of the tube to fit into a plastic thread in the pump body. No matter how carefully I try to screw the tube into the pump it almost always begins to cross-thread and tears at the first part of the plastic thread. Obviously I use very light pressure and unscrew the tube straight away but little by little damage is being done each time I try to fit the tube. Not something I would want to try in the dark with cold fingers after an unfortunate puncture. Update: I reported this to Brompton and they sent me a new one which does not have this problem. I was worried that a metal on plastic thread design was going to be an issue every time but I must have just had a faulty item.
So sorry, no we used a new microphone and it was not adjusted correctly. It will be sorted for the next video! Thank you for watching and letting us know we had an issue!
Many thanks for watching. If you have changed from schrader valves to presta valves I hope you have used an adapter to fill the hole in the rim. Otherwise you risk the inner tube ripping.
@@brilliantbikes I really don't like Auto- or Presta valves. On my other bike I have changed from Presta to ordinary bicycle valve - Dunlop. I had flat tyre with Presta but coulnd't open it to fill the tube with reparation liquid 😞

Could I ask which brooks saddle this is please do you sell these ?
Got my Brompton electric 8 days ago. It has the 'old' pump 😢
Ah it’s only the 2022 models that have the new pump, it should be available as an accessory soon 😀
I noticed that the head of the pump isn't fully enclosed by the mount as the smaller end is. It would feel more secure if the top mount was a larger diameter IMHO.
Hello my friend, I want a brompthon, good video respect from Chile, is really a good bike..???????????
its a real shame this new pump doesn't just fit onto to original fixings. Surely it could have been done maybe with some additional brackets on each end to let it fit.
It’s a good point, but I guess on the positive it now fits all of the Brompton models old and new.
Thank you for watching!
Where can I purchase one in Europe? (Italy to be specific?)
Thanks!
Many thanks for watching and the question.
Your local Brompton junction would be the best place to have a look, I have popped a link to the store locator for Brompton for you
www.brompton.com/find-a-store
So we got skanked with previous Brompton pump. Hope we are all getting reimbursed now
Thanks for watching - and taking the time comment
We have found the previous pump to be good enough as an emergency ride pump - and conveniently stored on the frame so we don't forget it. Never lost one, and they never let us down
Crikey what a faff! Hope it's worth it
It’s really not to bad at all to fit! Just two mountings to do up 😊
Do you know if this New pump come with the 2022 brompton c Line explore ? Also, what is the reference of your toolkit for tightening the srews ? 😍
Thanks for watching and the question
Yes - the C Line explore comes with the new Lezyne pump (the Urban 2 speed and Utility 3 speed don't come with a pump any more)
The tool we use is this one:
www.parktool.com/product/quick-change-bit-driver-set-qth-1
It's a handy multi tool - we like the magnets which mean it can be kept on the work stand - close to hand
Shame it don’t fit the pump rack on the frame 😞
Thanks for watching. We guess the advantage is it now fits all bikes.
It would be interesting for you to pump the tyres as hard as you can, then use a gauge to check the actual pressure. I am not convinced that you could even achieve 100 psi let alone their claimed maximum. Now that’s a challenge for you.
Thanks for watching,
Now that is a great idea - how about this ....
Install an in-line pressure gauge on a tube (we can only find for Presta valve - but don't think that should make that much difference)
Pump using the old pump
Pump using the new pump
Pump using an alternative with a built in pressure gauge and see how accurate it is
Pump using a track pump
Pump using a CO2 cartridge
and for each one also check with a digital gauge?

Only just seen your reply post. What an excellent idea!
IMHO...the old pump with its bespoke mount is a more elegant solution.
Thanks for watching - and great comments
We agree - this would be an emergency pump (for roadside repair) - and would always recommend a track pump for checking / regular top-ups at home
We guess the benefit of this / the original Brompton pump is that they would always be on the bike - we've gone out riding before and forgotten the CO2 (Mountain biking that is)
We also haven't tried using CO2 on a Brompton - not sure how much volume of air/CO2 it needs compared to a road bike (quite a lot less we think) - anyone have experience of this?
Cool :)
Thanks for watching
Rocking the bell bottom jeans.
Thanks and thank you for watching
I lost one of the screws 😫
Flare's !
I am having a similar problem. Whenever i try to screw the hose in, it always slant.
Is it intentional to talk robotic?
So sorry, no we used a new microphone and it was not adjusted correctly. It will be sorted for the next video!
Thank you for watching and letting us know we had an issue!
I was irritated on the auto valves and has changed the tubes with normal valves - Blitz/Dunlop valves.
Just a mo ….. “kilometres?” we don’t use that measurement here🧐
Too bad for you...
Speak for yourself. We've had Kilometres available to us here in Dorset for several years, Electricity is on the cards in the near future.✌️
Is this the same pump as supplied on my recently bought A line...if so, save your money...it's junk
So said can't shiy to Italy
Too much of an ask. I'll stick to unpumped and suffer the consequences instead. #topeak
Ratty = my hose broke at 2d use.
Oh no. Where did you get it and is it worth seeing. If it’s covered under warranty?
@@brilliantbikes Junction shop. I got a new hose from the shop. There were no new pump.
Very bad, feels cheap, all the water, rain, mud, gets inside of it, and it’s terrible, piece of advice, buy something else, there’s better products for half that price.
Can you send me one pump for free?
We would love to, bike sorry no, but it does come free with the C line 6 speed bikes and the 2022 Brompton electrics
