Hi Lonestar Laurel I like it very much. I'm use to Presta because of the Road, Touring and MTB bikes. I like the advantages it gives me. If you do change, remember to purchase the plastic adapter so it will fit perfect. Keep Safe! Keep Riding!
Hi HonoluluTita You can find it in Aliexpress. If you replace for Presta, remember to buy the plastic adapter. It sells also in Aliexpress. Keep Safe! Keep Riding!
The Presta has problems when using an ordinary pump. And, as an owner of a Lightweight - I'm mostly unable to bring a pump (WHY BROMPTON?), as it hasn't got the small piece of wire to hold a pump on its back!! So I have ordered two special pieces of Welcro, to be able to fix a pump to its frame. And most times I use an electric pump, at home or during travels.
I travel with my Brompton, have covered over 5000km on the same Schrader tube and still going. Presta are a pain in ass with the nut loosening, damage, inflation issues etc. Brompton have been using Schrader for decades for a reason. ‘If it ain’t broke, why fix it?’
Hi MrP1lot Wowww! That's cool, 5000km on a Brompton. Love it! My favorite way of Bike touring is with a Brompton. About the valve, the opinions are contradictory. Some love Presta, some love Schrader. Because I have it on my road bike and on my MTB I'm use to the daily routine. An other reason is the tire Presure. Nice to have you on board!
@@ChrisbyBike yea I have Presta on my road bike too. They were designed for road bikes because the rim is much narrower than other bikes and drilling a large Schrader hole would create a weak spot in that area if you had enough area to drill at all. Something that is not a problem with a Brompton rim. ‘Horses for courses’
Hi MrP1LOT Yes, this is one of the reasons, the other is that it holds better higher pressures. The new T line already comes with the Presta valve. I like Schader for pressures below 75psi and Presta for higher pressures. But they are bolth great valves. 👍🏻😊

Hi TanDaGo They can hold more pressure and do it more reliably because the air pressure itself seals them tightly. Because they don’t have a mechanical check valve like Schrader. Keep Safe! Keep Riding!
I would welcome Schrader valve tubes with the stems produced in the same lesser diameter as the Presta diameter valve stems. Being an arthritic retiree affects what one can readily deal with.
Disagree with most of what you say here 😂 Schrader are more durable and less prone to damage than Presta. Never had any problems with dirt in Schrader even without dust cap, and neither do most car owners. Schwalbe tubes for Brompton have metal shafts on their Schrader valves. Brompton is designed to use Schrader valve tubes. Etc. 😁
Hi Ruairidh Alexander Love it! Great to have different opinions about the same subject. 👍🏻😊 As I sad, I don't know much about Schrader Valves, but I'm very use to Presta, and like all the advantages that it gives me. They are both good valves 👍🏻😉 Nice to have you on board!
@@tandago7281 Schrader never break for me. I broke the stem of my presta once. I think the only advantage of presta is when running skinny road tires with high pressure.
Disagree on some of the points you say. Schrader is actually more durable, that's why cars also use Schrader and most of them don't even use a cap. But TPU inner tube for 349(16inch tire) seems now all comes with presta because it is more light weight, and I love that. Hi Gary Seckel They are both very good valves. Schrader is practical because you can pump easily on any gas station. But for narrow rims and higher PSI Presta has it's advantages. They are both good choices 👍🏻😊 Keep Safe! Keep Riding!

So far we haven't found 16" inner tubes with presta valves. of course, I haven't tried very very hard. Thanks for sharing
Hi Jason Loke
Tomorrow I'll be at my computer and will look for the link to the presta 16 inc that I'm using in my Brompton.
Found some on Ebay from France.

Tubolitos are available with Presta valve
Snow, in Rio?
🤣🤣🤣🤣 Nope!
That would be a hard one.
But New York, Germany, Paris...

If is a small pump you can hide it inside the seatpost, or place it in a saddle bag.

Yes, the T-line are drilled for presta so you don’t have to go to the trouble of installing an adapter to stop it moving around in the larger hole 😉
