While positioning the rear light under the saddle looks a good idea, I have lost count of the number of times in the winter I see it being obstructed by the tails of a riders rain coat. I always position the rear lamp slightly lower on all of my bikes because of this.
@@ChriFux Thats right. A good example how product management wants to play in a niche and ruled themselves out of the market. Not sure how large the available market segment finally will be within the Brompton crowd. Front light is only compatible on the original break levers, tail light only on original latest saddle version. And the lamps are only available as a pair, so if some customer potenially likes one of the both lamps but made changes to their bikes, needs to purchase both and let the other half laying around, what a waste. I feel that wasn't the wisest move spending R&D money and resources. Brompton should install a group of Beta testers before they launch product.
Once they hear I won’t be buying a USB charging light which is not USB C, they will obviously bring out a new model. 😅 (Don’t tell them that both my helmet light and my current seat post light and both USB mini charging!🤫)
One wonders as a new product they aren't using USB-C for the charging connection, impossible to get that one wrong, nice set of lights, tho I run a 1600 lumen on the front of mine 😂🤣😂

I got these for Christmas today. Just fitted them (I wanted to fit them earlier but that seemed antisocial). They are great and brighter than I expected. Thanks for the installation video - saved me having to bodge it! Happy Christmas!
Just brought these lights and fitted onto my new 2024 C line electric. Lights are great, bright and so easy to fit. One small point - my bell is right handed only. Only have the two (2) screw holes not the four (4) on the bell bracket so unable to rotate upside down.

German here: Bell is on the right hand. With the flashing I don't think they got the required certifications to be allowed on german roads. So with the requirements on the parts of the bike, micro-usb now when everything goes over to usb-c, giving it an outdated first impression on a brand new product, not eligible for the required light setup on the road, better alternatives, I would suggest to only stock the bare minimum.

02:02 I’m on Brompton’s mailing list, their video link shows the front light attached to the left brake lever and the bell on the right brake lever, yet the riders appear to be in the UK, yet the lights are set up in the EU way. From what I can tell the front light isn’t pointing straight and level, it’s pointing upwards (like when poorly adjusted car headlights, when one is level and the other is pointing upwards and blinding oncoming traffic) because the brake lever is angled upwards, so it appears there is no micro adjustment, nice one Brompton (sarcasm). I wouldn’t want to angle my brake levers so far forward just to fit that light as I would need to overreach to cover the brake when necessary, let alone pull them, (even accounting for lever adjustment travel). So still Exposure Trace & TraceR for the win, unless it’s unlit roads and the Trace is substituted for the Strada 800 with remote switch 😊
thanks for this. I have just bought a new P line 12 speed and interestingly the "backing plate" on the bell only has one set of holes, so can't be transferred onto the left from the right. It's not a problem for me as I normally use other bells such as Crane or Spurcycle but it might affect others. Thanks as always..

Hello! On my Brompton M6R from the bell is mounted on the left side. The front brakes are also on the left side. When I went to the shop to pick it up in 2016 the brake layout wasn't in the european layout. They changed it quickly to the layout I'm familiar with. Even if the Be Seen Light Set won't fit to my «old» Brompton, I watched the video anyway... See you - Martin
I bought a set of Be Seen. The leaflet does not suggest the front light be mounted furthest away from pavement but I can see the logic of the position. The rear light will become obscured if your untucked shirt tail or sagging rucksack droop down. Its a shame as i like the idea of the dedicated mounting hole for bracket underneath saddle. Opportunity for a Brompton hack.
Likewise at the top of a fire-escape ladder. You drop something then just listen to it clang clang clnging its way down then hitting the floor. Good bye.

The new Brompton Integrated Bell only installs on the right hand lever, despite specifications saying it can install on the left. (There’s only one pair of mounting holes, not two like the older bell shown in this video). So in the UK, if I got this light set I couldn’t mount it on the proper side. I like the new bell, it’s loud enough to get people’s attention unlike the old bell.
You're right, I posted on Reddit as couldn't figure what I was doing wrong and emailed brilliant bikes to let them know. I've still installed my light that side can use bell just a bit awkward.

My Brompton doesn't fill the criteria but I watched it to the end anyway. I use the same principle with extra lights higher up since I think it is better to send out photons than reflect someone elses 😀
Make sure it’s the right way round before putting it in hard , so many one liners in my head but being a gentleman obviously pressed the stop button. Song for the video = A Hard Day’s Night = The Beatles .

I do not need "be seen" lights, my current Cateye set-up being more than adequate... .. but I am interested in moving my bell (2019) from right side to left side, and installing the new two screw hole (2023) bell on the right. Yes, I want a two bell setup! I believe this is possible. Am I right? TIA.
I have seen a few tut tut tutting about the USB way of charging. What is the better way which manufacturers should be adoptng as I am still 'old school' charging from laptop, the train etc etc.

As a Dane I can't remember on which side my bell is, but I have told my dear wife, that the damned contraption is built for riding in the left side! I originally bought the bike to be able to take it to Malta during our many vacations in our Danish Designed, built and owned village in Mellieha! But as now both 76 she won't allow me to take it down, as they haven't found out to change direction, as all other Continental members of the EU! Finn. Denmark

should be upgraded to USB-C charging connector, Micro USB is not of this time anymore...even apple phones have USB-C now.... (and still the Brompton Dutch and German Official websites don't have Metric specification dimensions.... )
We use both! The reflective one will probably be used more now as ‘it’s reflective!’ So good for this time of year It’s also more water resistant - also good for this time of year It partially depends upon your liking of the colours The capacity / features etc are the same
We are going to do a proper test of them, as we had not even charged them before we ran them flat! We just wanted to show the red light! We will do a short on it.

The usb C model will be out in 18 months so you buy more lights

Agreed. It should be a crime to sell anything with Micro USB in 2023. It also comes off as cheap with a premium company.

Ergon Saddle got an mounting point for screws on the back, you should be able to mount it there too but it need a bit of reworking to work properly.
My brompton, bought in Spain, has the bell mounted on the right.
I'm happy that my h6rd and my m6ld have light from generator hubs here in Germany

The reflective one will probably be used more now as ‘it’s reflective!’ So good for this time of year
It’s also more water resistant - also good for this time of year
