Hey id like to know, if im applying with my matric marks and i have N3 and Mathematics was part of my N3 subjects, can i use that N3 Mathematics mark instead of the matric math mark to apply for undergraduate?
Hi Mudzimuunarine if you’re looking for a GPA calculator I’m assuming you’re already in CPUT. If that’s the case it is better to speak to one of your lecturers and ask them how GPA is calculated. However if you need a APS calculator you can find it on the CPUT website by going on this link www.cput.ac.za/preview/aps
Hi Naadirah, I believe different courses/modules deal with this differently. My advise would be to consult your course/module outline. It should indicate how this is dealt with per course. By the time your overall aggregate is calculated, this would have already been factored into the specific course mark it affects.
They assign weightings to subjects depending on how relevant the subjects are to the program you’re applying for whereas APS weights all the subjects the same. For example if you are applying for a science related program maths, physics, life sciences will weigh more than accounting. So they multiply your mark by the weight of the subject and then add these together for a final WRS. I’ll film a video on this.
This is so informative. Thank you so much sis. You look absolutely gorgeous btw.

Hi do you maybe know how much weight every term carries in grd 10
Please refer to the subject guides available on the DBE website
I don’t understand the credit hours part. How do we get that?
Hi Lebohang, the credit hours are usually indicated on the course outline. If you cannot find them, please ask your lecturer.
@@IKNOWYOUKNOW2 alright thank you, and when calculating the GPA, do you only calculate the last year or all 3 years?
And if you failed a module do you include that too, or is it best to leave it out and include only the ones you passed?
How do we calculate WRS...
