Mmmm as a person who lived there 5 years and worked there also not as teachers ecc, I would say mostly everyone I met(students, teachers, employees, models, soldiers, female, male, Korean speakers or non, ecc.)had all mostly similar experiences, doesn’t matter their jobs, language levels ecc. I did though had a great first experience as I dated for 4 years and he was a nice guy apparently. But even though I would say I might have a preference in dating other foreigners in Korea because it’s easier to understand each other’s struggles, opinions ecc. This is just my opinion/experience and I think there are great people as bad people everywhere no matter the country:) but DEF dating in Korea is an experience in general 😂
If you want to meet a good person in Korea, never look for it in a club or Tinder. People you meet at clubs or Tinder only want ONS. I had a 4 years relationship (from my time in korea and long distance) with someone I met in Sogang University. We were serious and I thought we would be able to settle down. He was lovely and very caring, and we would call regularly over different time zones and met each other in different countries. In the end, we didn’t make it after 3 years of long distance as we had no idea when he could come over to work or assimilate in my country for our future together. Korean society is very closed, it's getting better but still a lot of Korean parents might not like to have a foreign family members. They are not used to mix their family race because we have gone through a lot of wars through out the history by the invaders, which made us more closed society. Because we are very much like family oriented country unlike western countries, the parents' opinion matters so much when it comes to marriage. It is hard for even Koreans to get married to each other because they have to go through that parents' approval thing. Also some families have family rituals like "jesa" to carry on which is very important thing for them, or older generation are not good at speaking English or want to learn foreign languages. So be careful about Korean guys, they might just leave you to escape that burden unless they really love you. And there are some garbage guys also in Korea too!

To be honest Korean guys are not wrong about not taking them seriously, most of them are really here for only a couple months or maybe up to 4 years because of university, it is normal for them to have this "just another one" thought pops up. After watching this interviews and other interviews related to dating. It seemed that most korean guy think foreigners woman are not serious material and very few gets serious. Wow! Maybe because the influence of movies and environment. I'll say if you here in state and date korean/American yeah its possible for serious relationship.

To be honest, there are many good-looking and well-educated people in Korea. So they tend to look for their partners with similar conditions to them. In fact, this is not a problem unique to Korea. lol the problem is, American girls usually won't date Asian guys in America, if you date Korean/K. American guys, people will label you as a Koreaboo or weeb. Korean society is very closed, it's getting better but still a lot of Korean parents might not like to have a foreign family members. They are not used to mix their family race because we have gone through a lot of wars through out the history by the invaders, which made us more closed society. Because we are very much like family oriented country unlike western countries, the parents' opinion matters so much when it comes to marriage. It is hard for even Koreans to get married to each other because they have to go through that parents' approval thing. Also some families have family rituals like "jesa" to carry on which is very important thing for them, or older generation are not good at speaking English or want to learn foreign languages.
So be careful about Korean guys, they might just leave you to escape that burden unless they really love you. And there are some garbage guys also in Korea too!

To be honest Korean guys are not wrong about not taking them seriously, most of them are really here for only a couple months or maybe up to 4 years because of university, it is normal for them to have this "just another one" thought pops up. In comparison, Asians(especially Asian guys) in western countries had it worse, even if you're native born, say an Asian American guy, you'll be struggling with dating for sure, sometimes it's zero chance just because of your race, yet he's not even an exchange student but a local resident and citizen and they might been there for more than 2 generations.
I honestly think western societies and countries are doing it worse than in Korea, this is the first time of the era that so foreigners coming to this country because they like the culture, or have fetish to Koreans, Koreans are doing relatively good and ok in my opinion.
If you change the case completely, a Korean guy as an exchange student trying to date a local white girl in western country, he's going to get refused for many times, and perhaps facing other local men's violence due to the competition, all that simply because he's an Asian face. In East Asian, no matter you're white, black, brown guys, you don't need to worry about being punched by local people just because you trying to hit on local girls while another local dude wants the same
