This is, by far, the best boomerang throwing tutorial on TH-cam. What sets it apart is that there's a discussion of how to tune a boomerang by bending the wings and adding materials to the wings.
Logan, I recently started with boomerangs, and I've been making my own with craft sticks and card stock. Your suggestions have helped me improve the design and the performance. thanks!
Hey Logan! My name is Travis Wash. I met Rex today while my son and I were trying out his first boomerang for Christmas. I don’t know anything about it so thank you for this. Rex told me to reach out to you but my son 7 and saw your dude perfect video and was hooked! Thanks so much for inspiring him!
Thanks, this is perfect for those of us who don't have friends. P.s. my husband wanted to get rid of it, saying it was broken. But, thanks to your tips I was able to prove it works just fine.
In stronger winds it is also useful to use less power and spin if the boomerang is landing behind. I have used two winged boomerangs since a child and never needed to twist or modify the boomerang but get the desired result by adjusting the throwing technique for more or less spin, power and angle of lay over. Back when I was very young these types of boomerangs were regarded as flying toys and not allowed in competitions because they weren't regarded as boomerangs by definition because they had multiple (three or more) blades/wings and the centre of momentum is always in the middle of the structure. ("But it's not a boomerang", he yells from 1979). We used to refer to these as 'trirangs' in the 20th century.
Hi logan Can you make a tutorial on how to make a boomerang please? And explain what materials used to make a boomerang , and the dimensions , size, thickness etc... Thanks!
Peoples in my country really excited seeing me throwing boomerang with trickshots . They coming to me asking me quesitons about throwing boomerang I give them a shot to try it. Thanks for you I really love throw boomerang its became my passion.
Boomerangs are an endless fascination for me. It's the pinnacle of aerodynamics and yet the laws of mathematical reasoning seemingly go out the window!
Hi, I have an Aerobie orbiter and it notes on the packet to lean it 30 degrees however it does what you mention and flies up. going to try vertical next time I use it. hard beast to master that's for sure.
Hey Mark! Totally up to you. Three or four wing are a little easier to catch because there's material in the center of gravity. Generally speaking, two wing boomerangs tend to travel further because they have one less wing generating lift. You can find some great ones on my website loganbroadbent.com. Thanks for watching! Let me know if you have any more questions!
Nice videos.. an you make a good boomerang on a 230cm bed printer? Or are the bought much better? I don’t see any great designs online that specify all the parameters to print consistently.. (material, weight, perimeters, etc). Your video taught me to throw some of the 3d printed ones I printed, with a TriVenger design the easiest.
Awesome tutorial. I just started to practice more often because I want to start a group here in Toronto. The only other one here in Canada looks like is from our friend Brian and I guess Toronto deserves one!. Priceless tips here Logan. Thanks! I will pass this knowledge forward for sure.
@@LoganBroadbent thank you! this video really helped me! I made my first good-working boomerang! I also made a lot of boomerangs now, (not, of coarse compared to how many you have made) and one was a boomerang that came back, but not well, and one, came back but only went out like, 7 feet. this one is s tri-wing, and works really well as a fast catch, and trick catch!
I got this boomerang that said to throw it 30 degrees off which what u said makes it go up. I’m just a bit confused so if you could enlighten me that would be great. Thx.
It took me about a year to master the boomerang throwing. And my boomerangs did some strange things. One i had went around in a very small circle, constantly for at least 5 minutes,a lot of boomerangs i had lost in the wide open field. The dirt fields always ate my Boomerangs. I had accidentally hurt a kid when i was throwing my Boomerang, i told the kid to move out of the way when i was throwing my Boomerang. But the kid didn't listen, and he got hit on the side of his eyebrow, and broke the skin. To this very day I'm afraid to throw a Boomerang. But I've been trying again, and practicing, throwing my Boomerangs again.

Definitely takes some technique, the aerobie works well as long as it isn't bent or twisted.
Logan Broadbent, i want you to try my modified boomerang. You would be amazed.

Great video Logan. Your are awesome. You are very good. Am also love to do American Ninja warrior, too.
Thanks so much!!! I'm glad you enjoyed it! You can be on American Ninja Warrior one day too!!!
What a "clear winner" here💯🏆
I can throw 3 and 5 winged boomerangs, but I have some trouble with the 2-winged ones
It's all about having the right boomerang! Sometimes they don't have the right aerodynamic design to return. The airfoils are the most important part!

plz tell me which boomerang is best
sorry if you already said this in the vid, but what if the boomerang is landing to far to the left/right? (I am a right-handed thrower)
If it lands too far to the left (passes behind you), throw more right. If it lands too far to the right (passes in front of you), throw more left.

Cool tricks and cool tutorial
Serious question: When you attach the velcro dots, do you use the hook or the pile side of the velcro?
Good question - either can be used, as both disrupt the airfoil. It is a matter of personal preference and trial and error.
Bro! Brilliant

It's important to find an open area free of people, cars, buildings, etc. It's also key to have a good working safe boomerang to practice with!
He should have more subscribers saying he is the second best boomerang thrower.
