Omg, I love Karl. Most times I find the managers of conservatory’s a bit odd or shy, not very energetic but Karl is wonderful and funny. He makes me want to visit this beautiful place and go often. Thank you for sharing this video with us all.
Karl is truly the jewel of Longwood. He’s proven that in this tour. What a lovely tour he’s given us with your help. I can’t get enough of Karl and we need a new series with him.
Greetings from Australia. An outstanding presentation. Loved to see some Aussies here and there. How about that Acacia! I’ll be watching this again and again.
We are annual members of Longwood and truly enjoy our visits there. We were just there on Monday and lucked out with the weather. The new greenhouse is looking like it will be a spectacular addition to the gardens. We can’t wait for it to open.
One of the most enjoyable episodes of plant one on me. I watched the whole video without skipping a single time! Was so mesmerised with the way he was explaining ♥️💯
WOW! Absolutely wonderful to watch! Karl’s passion and knowledge is Stellar! Thanks so much for sharing this tour of Longwood! One day I hope to visit this jewel! 🥰🪴🌱
Absolutely fantastic! It really is another world away...to stroll around and be surrounded with such beauty. Everything works so well together and looks perfect. Karl is very engaging and knowledgeable...and clearly is passionate and loves what he does. Thank you for bringing this tour to us, Summer!
Karl is awesome and his enthusiasm is infectious....You can see that he just loves his position and loves every aspect of Longwood! What an awesome tour. thank you!
I'm so happy! This is my home away from home, and I love seeing it highlighted! Thank you for capturing this snapshot of one week at Longwood. I love that our Wood's Cycad is just out and about instead of caged up like it is in Thailand. And the peppery smelling Cinnamon Wattle is another favorite! I'll miss it this year, but I'm happy to get to see it getting some love here! And I smile every time I hear the water bell in the children's garden. It's a comfort sound.
If you followed along, he never actually answered her question. I was a gardener and specialty grower for a botanical garden and so many people lost their jobs just for asking the same question. Answer: perfectly beautiful plants -even organic vegetables are piled up in giant dumpsters weekly for the “changeouts” and then taken to a landfill where they emit methane as they decompose amongst all the other non organic wastes.
What a great and informative tour! The camera man was absolutely on point zooming into the plants so that we can see the details and colors. They don't get the accolades they deserve! Great job!
Hello @jeanettesanabria7972 I'm really impressed with your comment, I would like to befriends if you don't mind. What part of the world are you from?...Costachel.
I just love Longwood Gardens. I grew up taking every relative that visited from the UK (they love their gardens). This was formally a private DuPont estate. I'm so glad it's open to the public. Every season of the year they provide lovely walk through tours. The conservatory is huge and beautiful. The Italian type gardens with the koy ponds are wonderful. Christmas is always like a wonderland. It's true that it is sometimes frustrating trying to enjoy because there is so many people. You can't relax when it's heel to toe visitors. Still worth the visit.
he's a very entertaining guy, i'm always fascinated/entertained by plant people because like, yeah, but still. i'd get lost there trying to identify everything, it's amazing
Yes, he is very colourful, thank goodness. I wonder if they keep a photo album, of each color festival. Good that Flock can document these moments in time.
Exquisite was the right descriptor for Longwood. Incredibly gorgeous displays. What a fun tour guide. Loved his enthusiasm and am in awe of his knowledge and expertise. Thank you so much for sharing this incredible garden!
Exquisite indeed describe these walk ways.. in Karl’s words moments of whimsy and wonders… Definitely one of the best conservatories on display. What a treat. Please revisit again at different time.
13:51-14:12: Great tip 30:39-31:07: Conservatory snacks😊 32:29-32:34: I’ll try some on my salad 00:45: Karl, a very gracious Thank You for a lovely tour 48:19-49:21: garden treasures 56:22: Thank you, Summer for asking. I just obtained a “Parlor Palm” (57:28😅)
He speaks with so much passion and pride, a man truly amazed and interested in his craft, may the gods bless him with a fulfilling life. 5:14 where is this plant and HOW can I get one💚
Hello @Wendy-zl8kv I'm really impressed with your comment, I would like to befriends if you don't mind. What part of the world are you from?...Costachel.
I love this guys energy but I find myself conflicted. Chad from Fairchilds he has said more than once in his tours how if you take care of your plant it can live a long time. To this conservatory who likes to change out plants frequently. I can appreciate keeping the publics interest. Then a part of me feels sad thinking of the plants getting churned for compost.
Same. He kept avoiding the topic at first, then said the plants only get composted if they're really done for. I'm having a hard time believing that, after a few weeks max??? They could do sales, or just giving them away for free instead of throwing them out. What a waste :(
I'm 30minutes into this video..... This is your best video ever..... The colors, the combinations, the passion for plants is so palpable.... It's as if I can almost smell the scents and taste the flowers and petals along with you guys.... Thank you for such a lovely lovely video.... Will keep coming back to this multiple times I guess
This tour was one of the best. These two original great together, wonderful chemistry, and love how she involves the camera man, wish we could see all three…amazing trio❤
That was a great tour of a fantastic garden. Karl was really enjoyable as the guide - he really does love horticulture and I bet has his perfect job right there.
Always love your tour episodes, but this one was truly outstanding. I’ve always wanted to visit Longwood and now I’m even more determined to get there.
This place is magnificent and I'm really looking forward to that ficus diversity video! Saunder knows exactly what to do with the camera. He always gets the best angles. You guys do really great work 👏
What an amazing job to have!! I love visiting Longwood, it is one of my favorite gardens to visit. Thank you so, so much to taking us along with you and I cannot wait for the orchid tour!!!
You have convinced me to make a visit! Can’t wait! I love your botanical garden tours so much. I have found many of my favorite gardens from these videos, which I believe I would never have visited otherwise. Your planting fields arboretum tour was the first that influenced me, and I now visit the gardens every year on my birthday :)
It sure is a glorious garden that I need to visit, especially since it is not to far. I personally would love to see a bit more of the craziness of plants allowed to grow in place and adapting to each others’ space instead of just replacing them like legos. For my taste those “flaws” would take it from “near perfection” as he described to perfection. But I haven’t finished watching yet and maybe there is a room that is more like that as well.
There are a few areas that have established plantings. The corners of the entrance area with huge angiopteris evecta and terminalia. The childrens garden gets very overgrown. It is rn, and due for a changeout. I agree that it would be fun to see more!
Added to my bucket list!!! Absolutely love the commentary in this one. I’m feeling so inspired and ready for all this snow to melt so I can design my garden. 🌸🌿🌼
Time Stamp 22:11 is a Philippine native locally known as Bagawak morado. Very pretty! Like fireworks display in flowering shrub form :) I love this tour, Summer! Thank you :)
I'm glad I'm not the only one commenting on how fabulous Karl was on this tour. Again, please go back and make another tour with him when they change out their facilities.
Omg, I love Karl. Most times I find the managers of conservatory’s a bit odd or shy, not very energetic but Karl is wonderful and funny. He makes me want to visit this beautiful place and go often. Thank you for sharing this video with us all.
Right agreed 💚💚
That's exactly how I felt after watching this video. He's amazing!very knowledgeable and fun guy. I would gisot LG just because of Karl.
BLM @
They are like photographers who work in camera stores :-)
He is a performer, that's for sure!
Karl is truly the jewel of Longwood. He’s proven that in this tour. What a lovely tour he’s given us with your help. I can’t get enough of Karl and we need a new series with him.
You said it all. Karl elevated this tour to the furthest extent, it would be hard to replicate this anywhere.
You’re too kind!!! It’s just my passion for horticulture that shines though☺️
Thank you for visiting our Gardens and sharing your plant passion with us. It was wonderful hosting you!
I was here in the 1970's as a kid and I think this is where I fell in love with plants.
Greetings from Australia. An outstanding presentation. Loved to see some Aussies here and there. How about that Acacia! I’ll be watching this again and again.
That gentleman loves yellow..he is so joyous

Appreciate these tours I may not be able to see otherwise. You're so kind and relatable, fun to hang out with.
Thanks!
Hahahaha oh my gosh. I had to stop at 6:22. Excellent music selection, Summer :]
This is what heaven looks like...I am amazed and speachless 💚
We are annual members of Longwood and truly enjoy our visits there. We were just there on Monday and lucked out with the weather. The new greenhouse is looking like it will be a spectacular addition to the gardens. We can’t wait for it to open.
We also look forward to getting back to see the new greenhouse unveiling!
I must tell you that this is the best episode I got the opportunity to watch all the varieties in one episode
Best tour guide ever! His humor is amazing!
Lovely experience. Thank you!
I would literally give a leg, kidney, my firstborn to get a ticket to the grand opening of the new conservatory , oh that's going to be a good party 🥳
One of the most enjoyable episodes of plant one on me. I watched the whole video without skipping a single time! Was so mesmerised with the way he was explaining ♥️💯
This tour was a feast for the eyes and souls of passionate gardeners! Thank you so much for taking us along.

thank you for pressing him on the question about what happens to the plants when they are finished with them lol
Loving Karl!!!! ❤❤❤ Seems to be a genuinely wonderful person.
What a great and informative tour! The camera man was absolutely on point zooming into the plants so that we can see the details and colors. They don't get the accolades they deserve! Great job!

Wow! I just love every second of this tour! Such a great marriage of plants and architecture. Thank you team Flock, and Longwood for this

I wish they had large victorian aviaries with canaries and singing finches 😂

So many ideas on displaying houseplants.

I know it's kind of hard to understand changing them out regularly but my gosh! If I lived near by id go monthly!!! 😍😍😍
10:44 thanks for including this part 😂 I always wonder how sanders never bump or step into a plant while filming.
