The Andrew's garden is gorgeous! Love the water features, beautiful play of greenery and of course, Frog Lane. Ruby's stories about her plant choices and garden features were very interesting.
Wow, I thought this garden being so lush and green would be somewhere in the Pacific Northwest! Most of California is dry with many water restrictions, I wonder how much water her garden requires to keep it so green and healthy.
I was looking at this article last night. It was gorgeous. I went to bed thinking how I could turn my garden from garden beds to gorgeous garden rooms.
Absolutely gorgeous!! She doesn't mention how large her garden maintenance team is. It sounds like she hired a designer as well and hired help to build it. Isn't the joy of gardening in all in the work you put into creating and building it by hand?!
No way when you have this much property. I have two acres and very few weeds and all planted. Back yard perennials. Large front all natives. I would have no life but gardening if I did it all myself
I just turned the volume down so all I pay attention to is the garden itself. Like other people have said, sometimes there are no words that are needed. The garden speaks for itself.
The saying “Not all who wonder are lost!” Perfect for the way this garden speaks to me. This is way more than a garden. This is a place to reflect, to meditate to heal!
Pines, Cedrus, Ferns and Acers (esp. Crimson queen) and that Geology ! my pallet exactly in my Scottish Japanaiserie the soul-rock- star is pure stone heaven , loving your work-Remain in light-I have to praise you like I should. Cheers !
What an incredible mix of color and texture and levels and rocks... purples, grays... garden art!!!!! Just a feast for the eyes and the senses. I also think large rock formations and boulders make a garden feel so natural and organic. Does she tend this all herself? And I wonder how much was here as a starting point. This is truly one of the most spectacular private gardens I have ever seen!
One of THE most amazing gardens ever! I just purchased a weeping Blue Atlas and have started the arch on a small trellis until I can find the right arch. I look forward to seeing it grow like Ruby's. Thanks for this wonderful tour.
Love all of the texture. It would be helpful to know zones. I’m in northern California but coastal zone 10A. Although I adore Japanese maples, they suffer in coastal wind and salt air and the deer strip them to twigs! All of that stone is to die for… so special and rare to have this available. Beautiful!❤
🎉This garden has everything I admire with the choices of color and texture. Love the pagoda tucked in there. I am putting one in my new garden space. Absolute perfection! A++
Absolutely stunning garden! This is the garden I dream about having in my own yard. Ruby should be extremely proud of this beautiful masterpiece of a garden. Thank you for sharing. 🌳🎋

Gorgeous garden, gorgeous plants, and gorgeous hair of Kristin! I have taken many screen shots to save the names of the plants I love. Truly a masterpiece!
Beautiful, but the presenter is primarily asking about the items that are not living. The true art this homeowner has put into this is the combination of plants and locations she has chosen.

Id love to see a tour with all or mostly native plants, maybe in 10 years you can take a tour of my yard, with Prunus Maritima that grows native on Long Island, and Arrowwood viburnum in bloom... how beautiful to get people re-connected with their native plants.
This is spectacular. Id love to know where they live? Inland N. CA, On the coast etc? Im on the coast and have such a challenge with the Japanese maples due to wind. How I'd love to layer them and incorporate them as she's done. Does she give tours of her garden? As others have said, will have to come back and watch again! So beautiful!
Like to see the gardeners that did all that work , i work as a gardener on an estate and its alot of physical work also considered one of the top ten or so exstreame workouts
Glad you enjoyed the tour! Be sure to check out the full garden feature on our website: www.gardengatemagazine.com/articles/garden-design/garden-tours/ruby-andrews-california-garden-talk-and-tour/
