I did quilling many years ago, 79 yr old you have given me the confidence to try again ✨I would like to make pine leaves for my Christmas decorations, your sooo easy to follow thank you very much ❤
Hi, thank you for your good tutorial. I will like to continue learning more about: the measuring of the post card and the measuring of the strip for the flower.
Love your video with narration and clear instructions. I like the illustrations of various swirls at the end which provides some creative ideas and gets my creative juices flowing. I'm new to quilling and I'm excited to explore with swirls!!! Thank you!
Also fairly new to quilling. I make and awful mess with glue. You have just made it so much easier for me and I thank you for that. Made a swirl xmas tree for a card last night, didn't turn out too bad but your instructional vid has, somehow, given me more confidence to keep on trying. Love these so much x
These are absolutely beautiful ( ( think I liked the third one best) and I'm definitely going to make me some tulip cards for gifts, Thank you so much for your easy to follow tutorials, and can't wait to get started!
thanks from Italy! I just started with quilling and I don't know how to do anything, but luckily there are your videos that explain all the secrets, you are very good!
Glad you like this video! But be sure to take a look around my channel because I have tons of actual projects with step by step instructions. Some also have links to my free quilling templates. I’m sure you’ll find something you like 🙂
Thank god I found your channel! I’m a complete noob to quilling and had no idea where to start and now I have some direction! Thank you sooo much! Your work is absolutely beautiful!
beautiful it’s great watching you do it you make look so easy , will try to do them when I get a needle tool . Thanks for sharing I’m still learning and love doing quilling xxx 👍💕💕
That's exactly it! They do make wider slotted tools, but you also don't want the crimp in the center that you can get from a slotted tool. So a needle tool is perfect for the job 😁
These are beautiful. Curious as to why you ripped the strips instead of cutting them. What difference does it make? I'm new to this art form and enjoy your videos. Thanks!
Great question! When you tear the strips it makes the ends less blunt, which makes the seams smoother and less noticeable. Tearing the ends of paper also gives it tiny fibers that help the glue stick faster. I do cut at times, but tearing definitely makes a difference.
I just typed a whole paragraph that I must have forgotten to save or something.. So if it shows up somewhere please forgive the duplicate. So here goes again. I love, thoroughly love every single video I have seen so far. You are a wonderful teacher. I tried to find the quilling strips you said you use. Unfortunately Quilled Creations sells 6mm strips, not 5mm. When I first started quilling, the set came with 5mm strips. Do you know of any company that sells 5mm strips? Right now I am working on a project that I hope you might give some suggestions on. I am quilling a birthday card for my daughter from a picture of her running a marathon. When I use the different fillers the bottom background paper shows through. I used a beehive for her face which turned out very well, but even though the beehive was tight, the bottom paper still shows through. Is this an unsolvable problem? Thanks for any help you can give me :) .
I do see your other question on another video, but I'll answer it here 🙂 Quilled Creations doesn't make strips using the metric system of measurement so they don't have 5mm strips. The closest they would have would be 1/4", but like you found that ends up more like 6mm. But being based in the US, that's what I use. I have seen and purchased strips on Amazon that are sold in mm and the quality has been good. I don't have a specific company to recommend on though because I don't use them often. For your card, maybe use a similar color paper in the shape of the skirt under the beehive so you don't see the backing paper. That might not be very clear, but look up the work of Sena Runa. She's an outstanding modern quiller who uses a lot of different colors under her quilling. I hope that all helps!
Yes, you have definitely helped me! Thank you so much for the advice and for answering me so quickly. My daughter's birthday is the 16th so I'm under the gun. :) So I am VERY grateful for your quick response!
I show the solo swirl as the first example 🙂 You can see it another way in this video all about how to make quilling paper clouds 👉 th-cam.com/video/uIbVIgd_q0E/w-d-xo.html
I think I answered on a different video, but in case you didn’t get a notice for that one, you simply have to apply a few dots of glue to the bottom of your swirl and place it where you want it to be glued. I like to try to get a little glue on every strip in the swirl to make sure it stays put.
I have a similar link for a similar quilling tool listed in the description box for this video. If you’re looking specifically for the wooden-handled one, I haven’t seen one of those for years, but they’re my favorite!
You can put a few tiny drops of glue to the underneath and add them to what ever design you like. You might need to use a pair of quilling tweezers to place them. Usually I like to lay all my elements out until I’m happy with how it looks, then if I need to, I’ll take a picture with my phone so I remember the layout.
Mam please tell me that how many e materials is needed to a perfect quilling please tell mam I know only that quilling paper strip and needle is needed but my friends says that more materials are needed but mam unfortunately my friend didn't know their names so Mam I hope you know all the names of quilling materials please tell mam
You do only need the paper, some glue, and a way to roll the paper. But if you want to grow your tools, I have a page on my website with my favorite tools and supplies. Maybe that will help 👉 www.thepaperycraftery.com/shop-my-favorite-supplies/

Swirls can be a little tricky to get going, but I know you can do them!
Very nice 👌
Thank you! Cheers!
Lovely! Is there a reason to use the needle tool rather than the slotted tool? Maybe the slot isn't big enough for multiple strips of paper?
That's exactly it! They do make wider slotted tools, but you also don't want the crimp in the center that you can get from a slotted tool. So a needle tool is perfect for the job 😁

Hola, me encanta esta manualidad. Dónde puedo conseguir los materiales y las herramientas ?
Puede encontrar la mayoría de los suministros en línea. Dejo enlaces a todo lo que uso en cada proyecto en el cuadro de descripción de cada video.
❤

It gives a neater finish, when you tear the ends, and the glue sticks better.
Lovely swirls , even though mine didn’t turn out like yours . I need to practice as I’ve never done quilling before
It can take some practice! Let me know if you have any questions 😊
