Thank you. I have a video which works similar for customized photo, like how to transfer picture from phone or similar gadgets to paper and work on them. If you do have any other questions regarding it, do comment. The video link is th-cam.com/video/2aVdved8k4s/w-d-xo.html
Thank you. I use artist quality papers for special projects and on edge quilling which are made to last for decades without fading colors. Even the regular quilling papers don't change color that easily, unless they are put in constant direct sunlight. To preserve artworks from dirt and moisture, I frame them. Smaller works can be preserved using modpodge, clear nail polish and similar stuffs. But it is not always essential
thank you for this video. how do you make the red balloon you showed at the end. how do you stick the quilling stris to a base that is already cut and can be picked up i mean.
Hi dear, the balloon was drawn and cut by hand. Then quilled on-edge carefully along the very edge of the cut piece. Do some practice, it is easy as we repeat
Excellent work. What size quilling paper would you use for a lotus flower. Size of flower (outline) is 6 inches wide by 5 inches tall. Starting new and this is my biggest problem right now is figuring out paper size for the size of my outline.
Personally I would prefer 10mm. It also depends on the frame I am using. Some frames are about a inch deep, this gives enough space between our work and the glass, avoiding any sort of harm to our work.
Just now found your channel...great tips for quillers..your work is amazing..I have a question..what do u use as a base for making such artpiece? Also could you please tell us how to finish the artwork I mean framing or any other technique. Waiting for your reply..thanks in advance
I usually use 300gsm cardstock for base. We can also use art board, canvas panel, stretched canvas or watercolor papers. For finishing, I generally use frames. I have a video on it th-cam.com/video/Ahx70sVTp_8/w-d-xo.html (please bear with the initial few minutes, I apologize as I couldn't edit them). I have left one of my biggest piece without framing or any sealent on the wall. But they are safe as they don't get direct sunlight and we have less dust in our place.
Yes of course you can use. It is just a personal preference. But when we go down the height, it is little tricky to manage; the paper casts less shadow and reflects less color (if you love seeing the color to reflect as in works of Sena Runa, then use wider strips like 10mm)
Wow Fantastic video and great information.... thanks a ton for sharing....I m Pannus quilling point...a beginner...this is going to help me a lot more...tips tricks with perfect demo... Going to start edge quilling in coming months..Soo it's gonna help me soooo much... thanks... excited
Thanks for your questions. There is no need to add water to glue for on edge quilling. Hope your second question is 'how to add color paper, in case we need to under color our work'. If so, then we can adher them just over the base, and start to quill over it. (If you have any doubt, or if I didn't understand your question correctly, do text me. I am happy to help)
Shabeena Hirekudi hi shabeena, if doing an earring or doll, then we can just apply white glue (usually they dry with a glossy look). But some of the white glue are not glossy but dry with a matte finish. The other option is using modpodge with glossy finish. Sprays are also available. I have used it very little. When I do enough experimenting with sprays, I can recommend in future

@@agnespaperandcrafts thanks. I'm from Bangladesh & here quilling strips are not available in the market. So, i use A4 color paper & cut my strips by hand. Even I don't have cardstock paper & your idea of doubling the strips to get cardstock effect helped me so much
the paper I use for quilling is 80 gsm. So, I asked you about store bought strip's gsm. My journey with quilling is about 5 years. But Before watching your video I was using 10 mm strips for all kind of quilling bcoz I didn't know many basic things. After watching your videos I have started to use 5 mm strips. All your tips helped me a lot.

I’m disappointed that there weren’t 10+ tips like the heading says, and I was hoping to see how to bend the strips into shape, rather than just what paper to use.
Sorry for your disappointment, and thanks for letting me know. It is not the headings I counted, but each point within that. Since it is only about tips, I didn't thought to go deep into bending strips, I perceived it different. Thanks again for letting me know where I could have done this video better.
