It should be same general process, but the hose routing/geometry might be different. You should wait for your coolant temp to reach full operating temperature.
Not 100% necessary, but certainly helps to make sure any air bubbles escape. You want the spot you're bleeding to be the highest point because air rises.
If it is coming out of the hose your radiator is probably fine. These hoses are known for failing. I would replace the hose and put it back together and watch your engine temperatures carefully.
I have a question man, so first of all I noticed my coolant reservoir was bone dry but has no overheating issue, should I be concerned about how long I drove without noticing the leak? Like will there be any damage because of this? It doesn’t act like anything was wrong and drove perfectly fine and still does. Also where do I find the upper radiator hose that you replaced in the video? Could you maybe send me a link or tell me where you got it?🙏🏻 i just wanna have the absolute right part lmao 🤣
I bought this from O Reilly's. You can punch in your year make and model and it should match you to the part. If your car hasn't overheated at all and is still driving give you're probably okay and I wouldn't worry about it, but I would definitely top it up and fix it ASAP. I can add an Amazon link to this part in the description.
@@HardwayLearning hey man, another question. so I think I goofed, I put PEAKS original equipment technology 50/50 European coolant in my radiator instead of their Asian one, am I screwed or am I good or should I just flush it?
Hey buddy, so is there supposed to be a o ring where the hose and radiator inlet meet? Cause I replaced my hose and my inlet and it is still leaking the same. So it’s definitely not getting a proper seal for some reason lol
It’s leaking from right where the inlet and the hose meets, like right in between them. I just put a new worm clamp on the hose and it’s still leaking. You think I need the oem clamp? And also the website I ordered the inlet on said in the description that it included an o ring, but it didn’t come with one and I wonder if it was supposed to and they didn’t send it with it and I need it. Or if there isn’t supposed to be an o ring at all ya know?
@@quietriot2584 I've never seen an o-ring where a coolant hose connects to a hard pipe, seems strange. I've also used plenty of worm clamps on coolant hoses without issue so I'm a little baffled by your issue
@@HardwayLearning same man 😅, I have a year warranty on the hose and so I might just end up getting another one, maybe they gave me a bad hose, that’s the only thing I could see that could be the problem. I’ve tired everything tho 🤣.
@@quietriot2584 Late to the party, but maybe this will help. I also noticed leaking of the radiator hose by the radiator cap, even after taking it all apart and putting on new hose clamps (ditched the factory ones for T-clamp ones). But even after this I noticed leaking, and it seems to be coming from the hose reinforcement fibers, it almost seams that there is an internal path to the fibers and the cooland is wicking through those reinforcement fibers and out the end of the sidewall of the hose where the fibers are visible. Sounds crazy, but saw it slowly seeping out of the sidewall of the hose at the end of it. Might go for an aftermarket hose.
Hey anyone that could really help out, my hose sorta has residue on both sides but it runs great, I have a trip I have to go to 50 miles away, is it bad to drive it like that or Is there a chance it could rip ?
Blue and green coolants are both ethylene glycol based, there's nothing special about the materials used in an Infiniti head gasket, let's stop the misinformation here 👍. Now if you were to mix an orange GM coolant with blue/green you can run into issues because they will turn into a jelly and cause your car to overheat.
Mine burst today 😂🤣 I had a replacement just did it just following up to see if I need to lift the car to refill coolant
Ooof, yeah should be pretty easy no lifting required!
Please do one for the lower radiator hose
Awesome video!
Thanks!
2 questions is this the same for a q50 3.7 and 2 how long should I let the hot air blow?
It should be same general process, but the hose routing/geometry might be different. You should wait for your coolant temp to reach full operating temperature.
Do you have to make sure the car is lifted up like you had it?
Not 100% necessary, but certainly helps to make sure any air bubbles escape. You want the spot you're bleeding to be the highest point because air rises.
What if I don’t have a pump to drain
Put a drip tray on the floor and let it fly!
I have a question
My car over heated and i opened up the hood and steam was coming out the radiator hose i’m worried the radiator broke too

If the bottle doesn't talk about compatibility, it's probably safest to swap it and put the right stuff in unfortunately

I had a container
Did you need the cone thing? I'm thinking about replacing the upper radiator hose on my car
I'd recommend it, helps with burping air out of the radiator system, I dropped a link to it in the description.
Do you know the size of both hose clamps on the hose ? Can’t find any size for some reason
You'll need a hose clamp around 1.5"

There's a chance it could fail, but you will most likely be okay. I would replace it as soon as possible though!

Does your car still have coolant? Hard to say without looking at it
