    That's a smart way to remove it! I've usually removed broken nocks with my teeth, but after almost swallowing a nock, I came to the conclusion that I have to re-evaluate my methods.

    When assembling arrows yesterday, I didn't have a nocking tool so I looked for items that could help... and I found that fletching jigs can be used to push that nock firmly without damaging anything, and to align it properly.

  • @lrstaf6

    Thanks for this video. I ordered arrows online and they came with the nocks exactly wrong. They were 90 degrees from where you want the string to have the uncolored fletch away from the bow. Never having worked on arrows before, I didn't realize how simple it is to adjust the nock orientation. I didn't have a nock tool, but I have a plastic ruler that is about 1/8" thick and 1" wide. It worked perfectly to twist the nocks to the correct orientation. Thanks again.

      How hard is it to align the friggin arrows? You could easily fix this by telling the people working on them: "HEY! Stop aligning it with the 2 main pins, and start aligning it with the WHITE FLETCHING using the NOCK INDEX!"
      This has been a slight rant from a slightly salty customer

    If you want to push a nock into a nock tool,
    first embed the tool into modelling putty so that the tool will not twist over as you are pushing the arrow downwards!

    what type of glue for Nocks?

  • @destinyalee5120
    @destinyalee5120 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I bought Victory Decimator 500 spike arrows and the colored vain doesn’t line up with the nock, as in I can’t have the colored vain on top because the nock is sideways and won’t allow it. Is this all I have to do to fix the situation? And if I brought them back to Dicks Sporting Goods and pointed out the problem would they do it for me?

    • @shoreshotarchery
      @shoreshotarchery  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, and they should be able to fix it for you

    What type and strength of glue would you recommend for insert nocks? I have a fiberglass arrow with a loose fitting insert nock. Thank you, I appreciate any advise you have, as I' am new to archery!

    • @shoreshotarchery
      @shoreshotarchery  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      +james holley You could use 2 things some arrow fletching glue. Or plumbers tape and wrap a piece around the base of the nock.

    • @jamesholley1189
      @jamesholley1189 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you, so much for answering my question. But, I ended up using a glue stick, and wrapping a piece of electrical tape around the outer edge of the nock opening, as it had stress crack's running down it, because it was made of thin plastic, and couldn't take the shock of the bow sting! It's good to go now, the glue stick has locked in the nock, and it's never coming out!!! But, thank you any way. I really like your channel, please keep up the great work!!!!!!!

    Hi, I thought that arrows with pins (like my Easton Carbon One) should have the pin nocks only fitted, and I didn't know that we could glue the nocks on the pin. My nocks don't fit strong enough, so I'll glue them after have seen your video. Thanks.

    Thank you, omg.
    It may sound unbelievable but I was shooting yesterday and holy fxck I SHOT AN ARROW INTO AN ARROW. The point got stuck right in the nock of the other and split it wide open (it didn't actually break).
    I thought it would be easy enuff to pull out, but nope, had to find this video. Pulling it out with pliers was easy but getting the other back in was so much harder, my hands hurt now >.<
    I was afraid I'd break the nock with the pliers too so I wrapped the nock in kleenex just to try to cushion the surface and prevent scratching too. I did it, anyway~!
    Thank you for the info :D

    which way should odd colored or cock vane point when its in string or does it matter

    • @shoreshotarchery
      @shoreshotarchery  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +d74morris Great question. You what to odd color vane (cock vain, index vain) to point out. If it points in towards the riser there is a good chance it will hit into the riser or arrow rest. That would cause you to lose accuracy and will likely damage that vane. Any other questions just ask I am happy to help.

    I saw some 28" arrows at Wal-Mart the other day that I'm thinking about getting. Pretty much every nock was out of alinement and I tried to twist one or two of them with my hand, but they wouldn't budge.

      Lightly heat/burn the plastic nock over a flame-it will quickly become soft & can be pulled off with pliers.
