The reinstalled filter is not seated to the same depth as the original. Compare the original at 0:10 mark versus the replaced filter at the 1:45 mark. It's not even close. Using the tool to seat the filter to the original depth deforms the filter because the tool diameter is smaller than the filter. I wrecked two filters trying to reinstall them and still have the problem what to do with these two injectors now. Putting new filters in them will only result in the same result.
Also, getting the old filters out of the injectors was a huge hassle. One filter broke apart and left bits of plastic and screen inside that were next to impossible to remove. In my opinion it would be better not to change the filter and just clean them as best as possible with something like carb cleaner.

are these filters known as the micron filters?
my tuner says I need to check my micron filter, as that's what's causing fuel starvation on top end acceleration.

The tuner does not understand the piezo injector process. They do not retain pressure and do not interfere with performance. The roller author doesn’t even know that every high-pressure pump has a microfilter, be it a disassembled pump or a welded one. I checked and made a lot of such injectors.

For this money in China you can buy a bucket of these filters.
