That BMW uses 'oldskool' injectors on their newest B58 motor says enough. The piezo design was a nice idea, but will never reach a balance between useage and reliability
Yes you're right. But you have to understand when the N54 was made around 2006 2007 it direct injection on "normal" cars was kinda new and they needed one to keep with the N54 performance.
After the remanufacturing process, does the compensation adjustment value change? If so, is the new value imprinted over the old, or the whole imprinted surface erased and re-imprinted over?
U can mix 1-10 i believe and 11 and 12 u can't mix 12 with anything Lower than index 11. I might be wrong but that's what I remember when I was doing some research. U still need to code new injector regardless of index
@@el_Chupo I have heard that but trying to confirm this actually being a requirement. It just does not make any sense to me, considering that you code the flow rates of each individual injector in DME. What factor other than flow rate do we rely on here?
You can, but you won't be able to get a core refund since we need index 12 to have remanufactured. However, they are still priced cheaper than new injectors even with the core charge!
@@fcpeuro so these injectors are like "upgrade injecors" I thought about upgrading mine on the N53 with a better fuel pump and a tune. Glad for answers
What’s the difference between FCP remanufactured index 12 and eBay reman’d index 12? I mean other than the eBay ones are notorious for being garbage...
Ours are remanufactured Genuine/OE units, unfortunately, we do not have any in stock at this time due to not receiving enough cores to have them remanufactured.
Ebay claims to be remanufactured but honestly they are just cleaned up and resold and on top of that they come from china so it's difficult to send them back and get a refund
Hi Sasha, we have a lifetime replacement guarantee and hassle-free returns on all the parts we sell. If any part fails or wears out you can send it back for a free replacement. If you had an issue with your parts please contact service@fcpeuro.com and we would be happy to help.
Sorry you feel that way. Truth of the matter is this really applies to you if you already have index 12 injectors and need to replace them which we find to be a majority of customers at this point in time. If you don't already have index 12's you should upgrade to them regardless if the injectors currently installed have failed or are starting to fail. Unfortunately, there is no point in re-manufacturing index 11's or lower as the latest revision is what is ultimately needed for longevity. Moving forward it's likely all that will be available (when you look at all Piezo GDI injectors ever produced) will only be available as a reman. While this is not likely to happen for several years there will come a point where this will be the most likely scenario. And for the record, even if you order the reman over the new index 12's you still save ~$150 without a core return.

Did you ever find out?
@@Thomas998822 No
Why don't you show the repair process? And give a guarantee?
I highly doubt the injectors were 'disassembled'...
I guess comments like this may have stopped them from selling remanufactured but now I have sped over 2 grands for a new set
I have index 3 and 9 injectors on my car. One (03) has failed. Can I replace that one with index 12 or do I have to replace all 6 of them?

@@kjschrauber2126 They're not for upgrade it's for the N54 engine when your injector breaks.

There still pretty high on the price 😢
I just bought sum🥲
This is garbage, $150 + $50 core & they only take index 12 as core.

It's supply and demand bmw wants 400$ for brand new ones and it's hard to get used index 12 for less than 200. There's a shortage on these.
