_Remains to be seen._ Armored Core isn't soulsborne, it isn't supposed to be soulsborne and yet the starting visuals and text lines sure reek of _nothing but_ Soulsborne.
What I absolutely love about Armored Core..is how terrifying these machines are. In anime like Gundam or Macross, they say the mecha are built for war, however they still feel familiar. Like you look into the eyes of a Gundam and it still hold a trace of humanity to it. With the machines in Armored core, you can tell these things are meant for combat and destruction. The red in the camera, the conservative movements during battle, the steel grey coloring, it all comes together to paint that this machine can and will kill you. It’s so unnerving that you even question if someone is in there or if it’s just a hollow husk of a machine with one purpose in mind. I’m happy to see the franchise return after years traveling through poison swamps and fighting mystical Gods or awesome swordsmen.
The sound design here is just incredible, I keep replaying that shot with the machine gun because of how good it sounds. Everything feels so heavy and real.
Which shot sound ? The music is so loud I can barely hear a sound. But it's incredible how the Mechas seems heavy and real that is for sure. I like the helicopter plane at 1:55 that seem so big and heavy, the game seems to be really made whit passion and effort and the result is great.
1:55 is terrifying to imagine in retrospect. One of those heavy choppers is easy enough to deal with, but can you imagine trying to stave off a whole fleet like that at once? My god.

But anyone who has been into both games and the mecha genre knew about this, and before Demon's Souls, Armored Core was their signature brain child, unless you're a Tenchu fan, which was Sekiro before Sekiro came along. So yeah, necessarily, and essentially they were mecha fans....
I for one never touched Dark Souls and I have no interest in playing any of those games, I just like Mechas and played Armored Core. Fromsoftware to me is the makers of AC and that's it
I had given up all hope. This series was my warm blanket for 20+ years and I was content to just play with what we had and reminisce in all the fond memories. I can't even describe what I feel right now. I just hope that more people get to enjoy this series as much as I have.
I hope i end up enjoying it, i love giant mechs and i love just how twisted and grim armored core's universe is; i fully expect the start to be a frustrating nightmare as is usual fromsoft, but i intend to soldier through just as i did with Bloodborne years ago.
If i've never really played an Armored Core game before, which one do you think represents the series the best? And separately, which one do you think plays the best/easiest to get into? Ive always liked the idea of these games but never got into them, and now i'm heavily considering giving the series a real try.
Armored Core is as much a part of my childhood as Final Fantasy. From Software has been a respected name in my house since SquareEnix was SquareSoft. No company has ever had more trust from me except maybe BioWare before the marketing guys got their grubby paws on everything. Literally nothing else from the VGAs mattered after this was officially revealed. We'd had rumors that one was in production for a couple years now but nothing matches getting it confirmed. I don't care what else 2023 throws at me, I will find peace from the cockpit of an Armored Core.
Played armor core 4 or 5 at a friends house before I was capable of understanding wtf I was playing. I found out a few years ago it was a fromsoft game and I couldn’t believe it. I’ll definitely be buying this one
i'm 19 years old, play bloodborne get to know form software and become a fan, ARMORED CORE VI I had question marks the moment it was announced, but the militaristic, frightening mech design was so intriguing to me that it took me a while to learn about the history of the series. Damn I should have gotten to this game sooner.
What I love about this is that you can tell none of the fire is gone. It's still there, smoldering hotter than ever. For those who haven't experienced AC. It has a vibe like none other. I mean you can taste it in this reveal trailer. This is the soul of Armored CORE.
I'm a little hesitant because I thought 4 was terrible, and I didn't play 5 but I had the sense it was similar. I don't know, to me Nexus was where it was at.
Armored Core 6's announcement has been a tremendous eye opener when it comes to the different generations of Fromsoft fans. Nothing wrong, mind you, I'm talking about the fans and not the haters. Just happy to see how big they've become that you can easily see the different era of fans they now have. You've got: - The Old era fans who just had their souls leave their bodies and attained transcendence. - The Soulsborne era fan who are somewhat intrigued and also finally learned that they were not the first Fromsoft fans. - The Elden Ring era fans who hope this is a Mecha Souls/Ring, but are still curious enough even if it's not since Fromsoft completely earned their degree. - The Kingsfield era fans who are still on suicide watch, but are staying strong since they're seeing a glimmer of hope for old titles to make a resurgence. - Who else did I miss? These guys pour so much passion into their work that no matter what they put out, there's a celebration for the product in any corner of the world. Like Yoshi-P with his team at CBU3, Supergiant Games with their indie titles, Santa Monica Studio with their Dad of Boy magic, etc. There are still respectable development teams out there and constantly serve as a shinning beacon of example in this gacha and microtransaction infested industry, constantly trying to give you the bare minimum while milking you as much as possible.
@@shiroiidakku The original Armored Core predates Titanfall by more than 15 years. The first release was back in 1997. The games are also MUCH different in terms of gameplay and overall genre. Like don't get me wrong, Titanfall is fucking amazing, but the two actually have very little in common and calling this a successor to Titanfall just isn't true.
Good god these aesthetics are jawdropping. Never truly got into the gameplay of this series, but I'm so excited to see what FROM can do with it for the modern gaming landscape.

You can tell Fromsoft has its heart intact because they announced a niche title right after the biggest financial success they’ve ever had, instead of trying to bank on the Elden Ring IP with sequels and such. I’ll be happy to join Armored Core fans along the ride, I’m sure it’s gonna be a blast.
@@mattrg320 it's a bit 'trust me bro' because I don't have a source at hand, but Miyazaki did say in an interview that he was planning on releasing another Armored Core game. The smart business decision would be to keep at making Soulslike games, especially since AC5 and Verdict Day weren't that well received in comparison. It's definitely nice that he has followed through, though.
I love the doomsday vibes this gives me. As a Gundam fanboy and growing up watching a lot of super robot shows, I never thought mecha could be so haunting and unsettling. But only from software could do something like that. Amazing.

All the teasing on Twitter, the banner... The art being posted..... It's all lead to this very moment. And I'm legit crying, I'm so happy they're making another.
The music compliments this imagery so well. A devastated world that has been destroyed over and over again. The hopelessness and desperation as men wage war in cold machines, not only giving themselves a mask to hide behind their actions, but also allowing them to not feel remorse or see the enemy they are truly facing. Leaving no room for sympathy, it is just a war for survival.
This trailer is so damn peak I must have re-watched it a thousand times. Absolutely god-tier visual direction coupled with an incredible soundtrack. A masterpiece is what it is.
Dude this reminded me SO much of the Last Raven intro. From Software showing how they are one of the few AAA developers that still has passion and soul in them and pays nods to the games that made them.
Me and my friends still have an ongoing debate as to wether the bug shown in the LR intro died or is still alive in that intro. I'm in the alive camp as it didn't look squished. Also, the Python was a lie!
Fer sure. From's always done their sound proper. The ghastly gat at 1:58 gives me chills. This seems all CG though, not in-game. I wonder if the sounds'll be the same.
Thank you From Software 🖤 25 years ago I asked my Grandmother to buy me the very first Armored Core because the pictures looked great, it became my favorite mech game ever and one of my most played on ps1, I still even listen to the OST sometimes. thinking of Armored Core will always bring me back to this time with a smile and good nostalgia. I know it's dumb because the small community of fans stayed strong and asked for a new game for years, but today I feel special that you listened to us and took the risk to bring back AC even if it's not a popular style of game. I can't wait to see more !
I played the first one all those years ago on an ancient PS1 demo disc. I must have played the 2 missions and versus with my friend a hundred times before I saved enough money to buy the actual game. A very special game indeed. Reviving this franchise with Big M at the helm will be a treat to be sure.
it should have male and female pilot creation like Elden Ring and pilot gameplay. mech games are soulless without at least some pilot gameplay. Xenoblade X is one of the greatest mech games, also cockpit view mode is a must, they should learn from Steel Battalion cockpit view mode, even Code Nimbus has it for most of their mechs. if this is just about the mechs and lacks character appearance customization, they are losing a lot of Elden Ring fans already. its possible to make the gameplay focus on mech gameplay while making pilot gameplay meaningful too. if they are just mech gameplay then it would feel rather dull cause one of the reasons why Armored Core has bad sales is cause all people really see are robots and they ditched first person cockpit view so thats an extra minus in immersion too.
@@fivefive9514 I really hope they do none of your suggestions, except maybe run around as the pilot in the hangar, but even that I'm not sure about. It's all about the mech. You are the mech. @@fivefive9514 that is quite honestly not at all a reason why AC failed in the states. AC failed in the states because the market for anything mecha here was much more niche than it is today, and because the learning curve was as steep as the skill ceiling was tall. As a Titanfall fan, I had only ever heard of Armored Core in passing, until this trailer. This looks like everything I wanted from Titanfall. The future-military aesthetic, the inspiration from old anime, the grim undertones. As an artist, this trailer is an absolute work of art in itself. Somehow the trailer alone invokes more inspiration and awe than 90% of media. This trailer is up there in terms of hype with the "Everyone is Here" trailer from Smash Ultimate, but far exceeds it in the art direction department. And based on the comments I'm reading, the fan base is my type of people who appear to relish in understanding the nuances of an art form and appreciating every little detail in creating believable worlds for the mind to dive into. I watch this trailer regularly and hope to get this game when it comes out or soon after.

The only thing titanfall has on AC is the ability to disembark from your mech mid fight. That was a GREAT mechanic. But the customization and speed of battle in armored core is god-tier
This looks like a love letter to all the mecha anime fans from the 90s and those visuals! Straight up from the beginning of Akira. The synth music, the bleak setting... This is going to be the game that puts Armored Core in the place it deserve

While I know the game's actual graphics will not look as good as the CG in this trailer, I hope it captures the same level of scope and atmosphere. The gritty military realism blended with science fiction in the design aesthetic, the weight and heft of the machines, the ash-coated post-apocalyptic wasteland, that's the kind of dark futuristic feel I would love from a mecha game.

If i've never really played an Armored Core game before, which one do you think represents the series the best? And separately, which one do you think plays the best/easiest to get into? Ive always liked the idea of these games but never got into them, and now i'm heavily considering giving the series a real try.

Armored Core 6's announcement has been a tremendous eye opener when it comes to the different generations of Fromsoft fans. Nothing wrong, mind you, I'm talking about the fans and not the haters.
- Who else did I miss?

it should have male and female pilot creation like Elden Ring and pilot gameplay. mech games are soulless without at least some pilot gameplay.

The only thing titanfall has on AC is the ability to disembark from your mech mid fight. That was a GREAT mechanic. But the customization and speed of battle in armored core is god-tier
@@nobiazcustomsinc5030 I mean, imagine fighting an AC-NEXT while being out of your mech.....
Welcome to the nest, Raven
i loved armor core for answer i play it on an emulator but I also love titan fall 2 I'm wishing for a 3
This looks like a love letter to all the mecha anime fans from the 90s and those visuals! Straight up from the beginning of Akira. The synth music, the bleak setting... This is going to be the game that puts Armored Core in the place it deserve
You need to watch the Armored Core openings. They are all love letters. AC 4 and AC For Answer top notch.
Still kinda surreal realizing AC6 went from reveal trailer to release in less than a year
especially after the agony of elden ring's reveal to release time, and elden ring's dlc is doing the same. not much longer for that one, at least
Armored Core pals, we made it...
A lot of folks would've liked to have seen this. Let's enjoy this game together to the max, alright?
I'm currently going through a hell of a battle with Melanoma cancer treatment.. at the beginning of the year I just wanted to platinum Elden Ring, which I did. Now I just want the same for AC6. It's such a silly little thing, but it keeps me looking forward to something. I'm truly thankful for FROMSOFTWARE giving me these experiences. No game company has been as committed to their player base and ethics in the last decade as FS. Thank you, Miyazaki San.
@Don Lobo That is a wonderful perspective I haven't yet considered and will remind myself of going forward. I truly appreciate your words sir. Praise the sun! And truly God bless 🙌 🙏 ❤️. Here's to seeing you on the hot metal battlefield of Rubicon next year!!!
There is one thing that all Ravens have in common, and that is never giving up. I wish you the best results in your treatment, salute.
So sorry to hear that, I will pray for you. 🙏🏻💙 Hope AC6 will be an amazing experience for you. :)

Endure, Struggler. Struggle, endure, contend.
you better update this comment once you beat it
As an old Raven pilot. I feel it is my duty to stand tall and fight. Welcome back, both friend and foe. “Grabs helmet”.
reading the word raven in this context actually gave me goosebumps , sir i will aid you in your mission (45% fee tho)
We are the Last Ravens. Salute!
@@singert66 ahhh the fee! lol 🤣🤣🤣
@@nobiazcustomsinc5030 remember?😂
@@singert66 many a missions ive not profited from due to them fees lol
While I know the game's actual graphics will not look as good as the CG in this trailer, I hope it captures the same level of scope and atmosphere. The gritty military realism blended with science fiction in the design aesthetic, the weight and heft of the machines, the ash-coated post-apocalyptic wasteland, that's the kind of dark futuristic feel I would love from a mecha game.
It will, don't worry
We can always trust FromSoftware to have impeccable art direction. I have no doubt it will be a beautiful game even if not a technical masterpiece.
I might not look polished like the trailer but it will probably look awesome af
Better than ps3 atleast
Go watch the new gameplay reveal, it looked pretty good, certainly a lot better than Elden Ring.
One of the greatest, most badass trailers I've ever seen. From Software never disappoints.
This is one of my all time favorite series and I've never been able to beat the campaign on any of them. Building Mechs with friends either split screen or online and battling it out was like nothing else. Can't Wait!
Dude. You need to go back and play through Nexus. That game has one of the ballsiest endings I’ve ever seen to a video game. This game might be a direct sequel to it as well. Fucking masterpiece.
@@MechAdv I'm gonna go back to Last Raven first but I'll put that next on the list.
Try dying 10 times, see if it helps
@@bananasean5145 I forgot about Last Raven tbh, I think that one is actually the sequel to Nexus. You should probably play nexus first since the storyline is a continuation.
@@MechAdv might be easier anyway. Last Raven felt like the hardest out of every one I attempted but somehow played the most lol.
One million views on an Armored Core trailer. This series has risen to new heights and it ain't even out yet.
4+ on other trailer. We had too many fantasy games last 10 years, when ONLY battletech games and poor titanfall 2 supported this genre.
@@BloodyArchangelus There's Daemon X machina and the Front Mission game nobody like
But... yeah. It's depressing. I really hope this spurs some studios into making good inspired games. Lords of the Fallen was a pretty cheap attempt at making Dark Souls, but The Surge was an interesting and unique take from the same guys. I really, really hope the same thing happens here.
I love the storytelling in this trailer.
It shows quite a bit of prelude story for the main game.
1:31 judging on the parts, could possibly be previous G13
1:45 Previous Raven killing G13
1:49 JUGGERNAUT and G4 Volta in the foreground, most likely Balam's failed attempt at breaching the Wall.
1:51 CATAPHRACT
2:02 Deployment of the Vespers
2:06 Raven recovering from their fight with G13
Nah, I think G13 is the student mech that you killed before the dam mission. Michigan talks about how "Coincidentally" G13 became available.
Who was the 4 legged trailer mech? If it wasn't G13, or another mercenary
@@tomasgarraxia5375
that unit is using G1 parts, assume it's michigan then
we know the actual raven was doing some crazy shit that warranted him to be eliminated by the PCA at the prologue, so him going against michigan shouldn't be too far of a stretch
That's not G4, that's V.IV, and also lucky for us we never fight tons of first boss like in the trailer (that's a lot of PCA Heavy Chopper)
@anggapradipta7889 Buddy look closely. That's G4 Volta
You guys literally are making me still love games. The vision outlined in this trailer gets me so hype. And Sekiro lead designer is in CHARGE, oh man can't wait.
I love that atmosphere and how gritty it looks, the music is amazing also
This Armored Core is doing the "desolated wasteland" better than DS3, honestly. In that shot of the lone AC scavenging parts, you can really feel that this is a world _utterly_ destroyed, and it's shocking that anything has survived those red walls of destruction.
V and I think Verdict Day had very dark cinematics too, and 4 and For Answer weren't exactly jolly good fun either. In a sense this >is< the heart of AC. If you're depressive you shouldn't play AC. 🙃
Speaking of atmosphere looks like Earth lost it in trailer lol
music reminds me risk of rain
I've waited more than a decade for this moment. Already, I am assured it was worth the wait.
As someone who's been playing the game and completed it once, I can confirm everything shown in this trailer does exist in the final product (if there were any doubts).
ofc we getting the metal rod shoving
FromSoft won't make us feel sad
they will make us hunger for violence and harmony
1:23 I get Vangelis vibes! If the score keeps this tune up, this could be one of my favourite games
I was surprised to hear that Blade Runner-esque sound from Armored Core, but I like it!
@@surgodt even the "bang" when fromsoftware logo appears, reminds to blade runner
Vangelis meets Rich "disasterpeace" Vreeland 😍😍
Same. Sounds great. Love the aesthetic. Give me depressing mecha
For sure, it was a beautiful homage. RIP Vangelis.
That sound of the boost starting in the final few seconds of the clip…
Nostalgia can really hit hard when you least expect it
I'm climbing the rankings back to the top. It's been almost ten years since I've been on a mission.
I've been here since the human plus program and I'm not stopping now.
A year after this trailer came out, and playing the game, I STILL get goosebumps all over watching and listening to this. FROMSOFTWARE, you OVER-DELIVERED and I hope that never changes.
The best 5 minutes of the year right here! I've been waiting for over 10 years for a new game in this series and now I can be hype again!
I never thought I'd see the day of it's return. If it happened at all, and here we are. Unbelievable.
After 100% ending the game, this trailer still hits so hard.

Its crazy had this been annoucned and released pre-souls series days. This would have just been seen as another "B-movie" level game to the masses. From Soft you got all the attention now. This is a chance to make armored core bigger than its ever been and bring the series to a whole new era
My thoughts exactly. The idea of them elevating Armored Core into the mainstream gives me goosebumps!!!
Lol won’t happen. The mecha genre has just never been strong. FromSoft probably best long-standing game was probably chromehounds.
Almost all online armored core games fell into the shadows within months.
@@Texarmageddon those were back when the games were made on a b movie level which was my whole point. They got potential to make it a lot more now
@@InfernityKnight lol ok…
I’ll say this… as it stands… The fast paced AC we know can only make a really good story game. It will never be a good MP game by the masses.
If they want to make a decent MP for the masses it’s going to have to be slowed down significantly to survive.
I’m just telling you based off an individual who picks up every single mech game that comes out.
@@Texarmageddon still honestly not sure what your overall point is here, but anyway pretty sure they already said they were gonna focus on Single player content this time around for AC and multiplayer was gonna be more of an after thought which is sorta the route they have gone with all there projects thus fsr anyway.
Back in my day, these were the games that defined From Software and they were just as great back then as they are now. For fans of the series, this is not just an announcement but also a momentous life event. I have never been this excited for a game, EVER!
Easily the best reveal at the game awards.
The sound director for this trailer deserves a promotion because it makes the hairs on my arms stand up every god damned time
