I just don’t get this. Armored Core had always been bad. Like they just weren’t well made games at all. I never understood the following and nostalgia for them.!
Crazy how few yet beautiful words can send shivers down your spine these days... the exact opposite of long yet ugly, meaningless dialogues that modern games often have.
One of the things that makes me SUPER stoked is that we can see a heavyweight fire a back cannon while moving. I’m really glad that we’re going back to AC4-levels of customizable freedom.
You can totally see the passion in this game cause according to their interviews, they’ve been planning to make AC for a very long time since this is something they always wanted to make.
The very first Armored Core game that will LITERALLY sell very well! No 2 ways about it. FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!! The marketing is big and the attention from the community is HUGE right now!!! Millions of views already in less than than a week! As a HUGE HUGE HUGE Armored Core fan, This literally warms my heart! THANK YOU FROMSOFT!! WE BEEN WAITING FOR A NEW ONE FOR YEARS LOL!!!!
I love that we're seeing a diversity of enemies in this trailer. There are traditional MT style enemies, enemies with directional shielding, enemy ACs, giant mobile fortresses, and large scale bosses with unique fighting styles. There's a lot of emphasis on the action elements of the game rather than the simulation and building elements like with AC 1-3. At the same time, however, it's a bit more tactical feeling than AC4's pure speed and mobility.
@☆gabinete•records☆ I didn't mean to imply that they were abandoning the building elements, but if you look at old AC games, a lot of the building is number crunching. It looks like this will have more of a focus on how your build affects the moment to moment action. Stuff like how you traverse the field, approach and dodge enemy attacks, and counter specific enemy behavior.
This better have detailed builds like the first ones or ill be sad, thats what got me hooked when it came out on the ps1, IM hoping for battle damage and full build specing :) god willing .
@@UhSpookyGhost Yea me too, but Nintendo didnt renew the IP if I remember correctly and the steam game was cool, but just not the whole custom robo experience.
Mechwarrior 5 is pretty good. It's a highly moddable game so fans have already added in tons of customization and gear, better visuals etc. It's still more of a double A production so it's light on the story and scripting side of things.
This is what I love about Fromsoft in terms of monetization, no microtransactions other than fully fledged DLC, deluxe edition = getting an artbook & ost and not ingame rewards that give you an edge or anything especial. Preorder? Sure, get a freebie skin for your trust in us! Honestly, Fromsoft is untouchable. God tier studio and director.
The plural of DLC is still just DLC, but acceptable is DLCs. No apostrophe. The only time plural apostrophe is used is for a single letter, like for example "how many W's did this trailer get?"
In this era of "AAA", F2P, "live Service" garbage games, I had almost forgotten what its like to actually be excited for a new big release. This trailer has reminded me how nice that feels.
quit grossly exaggerating. your last big live service game (avengers, preceding anthem) flopped. you're only remembering those because the big AAA games come out, everyone plays them, have nothing to complain about and wait for the next big release.
Honestly the most avant-guard-looking mecha designs as of late for this franchise and it's a joy seeing all of the generations combined into one cohesive style
I remember reading Tips & Tricks magazine as a kid for the monthly Armored Core column they'd do. Players could submit their builds and one of the editors would put it to the test against other editors for the magazine then put out the results in the following months issue. It was such an awesome column.. and the main reason I used to buy that magazine.
Having beaten every mission, this really was a masterpiece of a trailer. They showed so much but revealed next to nothing. I wish more trailers were like this. I got the hype from it without any spoilers or bullshit bait and switches.
FromSoft did not create the mecha genre LMFAO. It's existed since the mid 50's and was greatly pioneered by franchises like Gundam in the late 70's. Even in gaming many Japanese developers released several iconic games/franchises in the 90's and beyond.
i recently started playing through the first armored core game, and it's a good time; the controls are definitely awkward at first, but once you get the swing of how to circle-strafe and bunnyhop with your jets, it's a blast
I'm amazed that this is the sentiment tbh. I'd assume that people would be wary of a game style shift after companies like CD Project Red went from Witcher 3 to Cyberpunk. I know that technically it is different since Fromsoft already worked on Armored Core, but that was so long ago and it is such a different game compared to their Dark Souls formula. I'm definitely getting this game day one and going to play so much of it, but I'm not going in expecting a Dark Souls level quality for their newly returning armored core game because that actually feels a bit unfair to Fromsoft lol
AC2 taught me how brutal a game can be. In a good way, every bullet counted and every point of damage meant everything. Such a good franchise I cannot wait, I was worried From Software was going to stick with the swords and sorcery motif. Glad they haven't forgotten.
With the success of Elden ring and the nigh perfect track record of good games, I'd argue that they are in a better position now than ever to branch out and explore completely new games. Maybe using AC as a "test the waters" too see if mecha vibe with the fantasy community they have achieved. I've never played AC I came from Dark souls 2 onwards but I think I will buy this because it looks good BUT also because Fromsoft have never let me down and I think they are a great customer friendly company. I'm 100% open to try their games even if they have nothing to do with the soulsborne identity. Apart from the moonlight blade, apparently that's still in AC?
theyve just been waiting until they could finally release the franchise they started out on with a AAA budget. This game is going to be fucking amazing.
@@iforgotmyname1669 Moonlight first appeared in Kingsfield, though it is most notably known from Armored Core 1 as that was a much more popular game and has been in every From Software game since, Patches first appeared in Armored Core on the PS1 and the names of Straid (from Dark Souls II) and Old King Doran (Demon's Souls) are both references to characters in the Armored Core series. The opening area of Dark Souls 1 sees the player character get carried by a raven from the Undead Asylum to Lordran. The raven can then be seen throughout the game in its nest. In Armored Core, The players were called called Ravens, while their base is called "The Raven's Nest". A lot of what made dark souls and Elden Ring so good were lessons they learned from Armored Core and perfected mechanics from it.
Yeah you make a good point. These look more like the "classic" style of design as compared to the NEXTs and the generation 5's. While I really like a lot of the NEXTs, the 1st-3rd gen styles are where my heart is.
perhaps because of an all out war that make parts rare make them to use anything they have, we got clue on trailer reveal where there is a scavanger ac edit: if my theory correct perhaps we will see some of old unit from 1,2,3 im gonna laugh so hard if 9 balls or zinaida ac suddenly came up and slaughter the new raven
Fromsoft is the only developer i would trust to pre-order. Their games never disappoints. No stupid exclusive gear locked behind pre orders other than a decal. They know their market and what their player like and adhere to them very well. We like epic bossfights, difficult yet fair gameplay, tight controls, and they always delivers.

Me too. Always loved mechas, but this is always what I thought it should be in my head. Tried hawken and some other mecha titles but the dream of how it should really look in my head is what this trailer showed me. I am ready to go down the rabbit hole and just keep on falling.
@@robertoserrano6505 please do so. As a person who loves Gundam manga and anime, plus has enjoyed playing Titanfall, is this anything close to playing as titanfall or gundam show? I am interested in this game, but several people have told me that the past AC games are very slow as if you were inside of a tank, with an inmense lack of mobility. Because if this is like a titanfall, I AM IN!
I am beyond stoked for this. The fact FS is releasing a full fledged AC after all the support they've received over their extremely fortuitous releases brings joy. I am rarely excited for video games these days, but I feel like a kid again, grinning with anticipation.
Interesting and intense bosses, leg mechanics that sets them apart, return of back weapons, single player focus, massive improvements to melee weapons, seems to be a relatively nice balance of speed and weight.....most/all of the things I was hoping for.
From Software did make some games that had Gundam and other mecha anime called Another Century Episode if you haven't heard of them. Though they're Japanese only unfortunately.
I ended up getting really into mecha stuff this past year after a dormant interest in them for so long, and knowing this is coming out this year is so awesome to hear. This looks amazing, I love these kinds of mech designs.
If the movement in-game is even slightly what we’re seeing in this trailer, this will probably be the closest we will ever get to a real Gundam game. Mobile Suit Gundam Crossfire has been my favorite Gundam game since it released as a PS3 launch title and it didn’t even really have any kind of Gundam’s in it. Can’t wait to try this game out.

I am moved to tears, the game that is on paper 'metal machines fighting in an industrial environment' looks absolutely stunning, the picture is very clear - there are no cinematic AAA color filters and fake light making the details or the action hard to see, the action itself is not so fast that it's hard to follow. AC4 and For Answer we're controversial because they we such a depart. But to me those games were peak Miyazaki. When I started playing the Souls games the vague way of storytelling reminded me of Armored Core. I have all the disc's from back in the day, but since they weren't mainstream games your best bet is an emulator. They're definitely worth it.
As a long time fan of the franchise, I hope it's a good intro for new players like you. I'm looking forward to spending some time in the garage perfecting my own designs, again.
Yeah! The music for the AC series has always nailed that sort of futuristic vibe in a way that almost feels Alien. If this trailer is any indication the soundtrack will likely be killer.
I knew from that first trailer that this game was going to be insane. The scale and sheer level of destruction and mech warfare portrayed here is on a whole new level of apocalyptic.
Armored Core 5 and 4 were part of my childhood and they were insane games to me back then, but this is a whole different story, after 11 years I get to come back to Armored Core
Gameplay seems like a hybrid between 4 and 5, you got the primal armor looking energy shield, you have the dash and 'kick' function combat seems more of 5's slower speed instead of 4's blistering high speed combat. I'm very interested to see actual details for the game going forward.
It would be interesting to see how the devs will balance the tempo and rhythm of the game. As you said, seems like hybrid between AC4 ultra-instinct levels of combat & AC5 slower and methodical combat. The environment will certainly play an important role when dictating the combat speed & style judging from the looks of it. If the devs can strike a good happy medium between AC4 & AC5 combat, then they'll strike gold.
Where was the kicking? I only noticed all the extension boosting. We've got turn boost extensions, back boost extensions, and side boost extensions. And some Overboosting
From Soft continues to be one of the only devs in current year that I would trust pre-ordering from. Have been waiting for many years to get a pc release of AC, that wait is almost over.
Bandai REALLY needs to do this for their Gundam games. And if there is one that i don't know of, they still need to make a Gundam game with this type of gameplay
The closer one so far is the old Gundam Battle Operation 2, but Gundam & AC have different styles. It's wise to not expect Gundam to be like AC or vice versa. And considering both IPs belong to Bandai, any game that you choose will bring them money to make more quality games.

I hope this new Armored Core games does very well. I would love to see the creators finally give their *Tenchu* series a new installment. Beyond time we've have Rikimaru and Ayame in another game. Tenchu started the 3D stealth genre even before *Metal Gear Solid* debuted on the PS1. Just imagine exploring Feudal Japan and other mystical locations to take out demons, enemy ninja, foreign pirates, and corrupt ministers on such an grand open world-esque scale.
Tenchu would be great but I'd also love to see a return to first-person games like Echo Night and Kings Field. I really hope this new iteration of FromSoft goes back to creating a wide variety of games rather than exclusively Soulsborne
Yes! My siblings and me were huge Tenchu fanatics, played all Tenchu games except for Tenchu Z because we couldn't afford an Xbox 360 to play it. Rebooting Armored Core gives me hope they will try to make a Tenchu game again one day. Sekiro was more like an anime to me, an incredibly beautiful one at that, but I hope Fromsoftware or anyone at this point makes a realistic slow-paced stealth heavy game based in Tenchu universe.
I remember getting my PS2 for Christmas in 2000 as well as a game I'd never heard of before named Armored Core 2. This trailer gave me goosebumps just like how the opening cinematic for Armored Core 2 did when I was a teenager. I'm very excited!

Then Armored Core V and V: Verdict Day were a whole new addiction, Day 1 purchase. I love what FromSoftware have shown of Armored Core VI so far, I am so incredibly excited!
FromSoftware have earned the kind of trust that generates automatic hype. I haven't played a mech game in a while and this will be a great entry to jump back into the genre. LET THE LAST CINDERS BURN. 😭🔥🔥🔥
when you rewatch a trailer you have watched like 50 times even months after you have completed the game 100%, you KNOW this game is special. Bring on a sequel/dlc if possible!!
How they can so many dying worlds with a similar theme and still make each one of them unique is astonishing. What I mean by theme is something about how the flame of life is slowly dying and what the player decides to do with it, but in the end it changes nothing.
I had heard about an old FromSoftware franchise, they said it was forgotten...now it's comming back and I'm really waiting for this game to be released. It will be my first Armored Core
Big projects with dedicated fans AND dedicated devs who understand how to make something great pay off. More often than not, they go beyond expectations, and beyond what the general market or any sort of "get money quick" fad wants them to do. I'm so glad From Soft understands that. This is going to be the best mecha game for years.
Let's hope this helps to brings back the mecha genre. AC it's such a timeless and fun series. Let's hope we see the return of titles like Chromehounds, Titan Fall, and Hawken, to name a few, from their respective developers. MAKE MECHA GREAT AGAIN.
Every now and then I’ll see some really cool piece of sci-fi concept art and think to myself, man, it sucks how games never end up looking this awesome. Until Armored Core VI.
LET'S FUCKING GOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! This looks SO GOOD. Movement of 5 but with the mechanics of 4, and the giant bosses that 1 wishes and 4a and 3 has. Man August 25 can't come fast enough. What a wonderful thing to wake up to.
Fromsoftware said the boss fights are the highlight of this game like previous from software games ngl their boss fights are going to be challenging and hard as hell
I had no idea this was in the works, I got this ad a couple minutes ago and almost skipped, but I was curious enough to sit through a bit of it to see what it was for, and I’m not exaggerating I literally teared up the second I recognized what this was. I only played one of the games in this franchise because I happened across it at a game rental place as a kid, but I talked my parents into letting me buy it to keep, and I seriously played it nonstop whenever I could, I loved it so much. the nostalgia is hitting me like a truck right now.

Looks like the idea of a more tactical AC: V, now combined with the features of AC: 4 the Answer.
...And I'm all the way in for it!
exactly what i was thinking. big hype.
@☆gabinete•records☆ i highly doubt the building aspect will be toned down at all from the last generation.
This better have detailed builds like the first ones or ill be sad, thats what got me hooked when it came out on the ps1, IM hoping for battle damage and full build specing :) god willing .

i recently started playing through the first armored core game, and it's a good time; the controls are definitely awkward at first, but once you get the swing of how to circle-strafe and bunnyhop with your jets, it's a blast
Radiators were the death of me in that game. Always overheated.
AC4 and AC 5 are my first especially when you figure out the infinite energy so you can spam heavy sniper rifle like a machine gun 😂
Sekiro
I remember getting my PS2 for Christmas in 2000 as well as a game I'd never heard of before named Armored Core 2. This trailer gave me goosebumps just like how the opening cinematic for Armored Core 2 did when I was a teenager. I'm very excited!
Same, i remember flying around the city, crushing the tiny hotwheel cars while on the floor everywhere. Good times.
I Hate Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon
I Hate Armored Core Franchise

I don't think I've watched a trailer for a game this many times in quite a long time
Same.
Seriously want to see what the UI and HUD are going to look like, would love to see them let you pick and modify your HUD layout.
In 2,3 u can mod hud with addtional information like altimeter, enemy rwmnant, enemy ac info, surrouinding temp and speedometer colour to
@@abeeocta2599 Yea that part made me so excited and how in silent line I could do FPV as well. I know you could do that before but that's where I discovered it.
I had the original back in 1997! I love this series.
I've waited for so long to see another Armored Core game. I am so buying this!
Just one word, it gives me the ultimate shiver of thrill and joy:
“Raven”
Can't wait to spend 2hrs customizing my Armored Core only to realize I didn't allocate my resources properly, and get slaughter 5 seconds into battle.
THIS!
It is inevitable. I can't wait to screw up so badly.
I can't wait to see the first sight I'm going be bankrupt, only for me to ignore it completely anyways.
Can't wait to expend all of my ammunition halfway through the mission only for an enemy AC to suddenly appear and ensure my crippling bankruptcy.
AC2, AC2 Another Age, AC3, AC3: Silent Line, AC: Nexus - PS2 Armored Core was my love, one of the few franchises I 100% completed each release.
I wouldn't say "automatic hype" after Dark Souls 3 and Elden Ring, but AC is From's flagship series so I'm hoping for the best.
@@LieutenantAlaki two great games
I always like coming back to watch these trailers and it still gets me hype.10/10
Never played an Armored Core game before, but this looks so off the rails insane and I'm all in
Look for me at launch
Then from this moment on, you are a Raven.
FINALLY AFTER 11 YEARS WE ARE GETTING MORE!
Man, this whole trailer takes on a whole new meaning after the story trailer. I really can't wait to sink my teeth into this game.
when you rewatch a trailer you have watched like 50 times even months after you have completed the game 100%, you KNOW this game is special. Bring on a sequel/dlc if possible!!
How they can so many dying worlds with a similar theme and still make each one of them unique is astonishing. What I mean by theme is something about how the flame of life is slowly dying and what the player decides to do with it, but in the end it changes nothing.
That sounds incredibly boring, actually. Kinda glad I avoid the majority of FromSoft's catalogue tbh.
@@Rad-Dude63andathird Well ; maybe it sounds boring to you, but you will never know until you play it or see others play the game.
@@Rad-Dude63andathird Boring you say ?
Everytime Fromsoft games are the most anticipated and successful games, I wonder why 🤔
Rebirth is a key part of that theme though. The player sees it end no matter what but what comes next is a new age.
@@lusurpateur2381
I don't need to play every Fromsoft turd to know the company has fallen off a long time ago imo.
I had heard about an old FromSoftware franchise, they said it was forgotten...now it's comming back and I'm really waiting for this game to be released. It will be my first Armored Core
Think of Gran Turismo meets mecha
Big projects with dedicated fans AND dedicated devs who understand how to make something great pay off. More often than not, they go beyond expectations, and beyond what the general market or any sort of "get money quick" fad wants them to do. I'm so glad From Soft understands that. This is going to be the best mecha game for years.
This is unironically an awesome trailer. I can't believe From Software is getting us invested in Armor Core now.
If I wasn’t hyped before, I definitely am hyped now.
It will be the best game ever made
I have no idea what this game is really or what it’s bringing to the table, but I am 100% buying it day one. Looks incredible
As a LONG time player of this series buckle up you will enjoy this ride.
It brings crazy toys to the table :)

@@knight_lautrec_of_carim I hate how true this is.
It's Armored Core man.
Classic gaming.
I thought I wouldn't see this day...to be able to have the hope of playing a new Armored Core game again...
I really missed this series glad fromsoft is giving armored core a chance to shine again
As any Armored Core fan can tell you, this is beyond our wildest dreams of what we thought was possible in an AC game.
As an ac fan I hope I don’t die before this comes out
@@the2gamerschannel just survive four more months brother
hard agreed
Let's hope this helps to brings back the mecha genre. AC it's such a timeless and fun series. Let's hope we see the return of titles like Chromehounds, Titan Fall, and Hawken, to name a few, from their respective developers.
MAKE MECHA GREAT AGAIN.
Yeah and also get PGI to make Mechwarrior Online 2 in UE5!
timeless? nah
YOU DRAGGING IT
chromehounds was made by fromsoftware
@@Eddy929292 Honestly I'd kinda prefer if a different studio just took care of Mechwarrior. Piranha is a fiercely mediocre studio, all in all.
Every now and then I’ll see some really cool piece of sci-fi concept art and think to myself, man, it sucks how games never end up looking this awesome. Until Armored Core VI.
eh elden ring artbook leyndell looks a lot better than in game leyndell
@@Oneiric_Benevolence And Leyndell vista ingame is more impressive than any other vista in a game.
I've watched this trailer over and over, the music is so good and the trailer is mesmerizing.
Fromsoftware said the boss fights are the highlight of this game like previous from software games ngl their boss fights are going to be challenging and hard as hell
arent 4 and 4a's movement way better tho? i was hoping for a return to fast paced but meh
>Movement of 5
What? You can see extension boosting and overboosting. Quintessential AC3
@@user-cr8vy2hs7o Yes they were faster, but this looks more like a return to the PS2 era with quick boosting added.
Isn't the mech at the end from 4a? The omer science mech for maximillian thermadore? Edit:it isn't, but it looks very rayleonard/omer science
Other than playing the original on a demo disc on my friend's PS, I fit that description. I rented Master of Arena and loved it dearly.
Absolutely out of this world. Bringing back everything I loved about AC4, For Answer, ACV and Verdict Day. This is gonna be AMAZING.
Never played a FromSoft game before and this ended up being one of the best games I've ever played
YESSSSSSS!!!! Oh man I need the collector's edition. MY BODY IS READY. LET'S GO RAVENS!
