    Nice video. What do you do with the dividends - do we re-invest? If so, do we do it immediately upon receipt of the dividends, or during the rebalancing next year?

    Great video, thanks. I did a lazy way. Allocated 50% on the 3 local banks and 50% of REITs via SYFE to avoid rights issue. So far doing quite alright on the dividends.

    If the stocks that we need to sell on our re-balancing day that year has fallen by 30% for example during 2020 Covid-10 period, should we wait for it's price to increase to the original level before selling to prevent a loss in the capital?

      Doesn’t matter mah. Cos you sell Low and you also buy Low during a crash.

    great vid! what you say each stock should be 10% of your portfolio, is it like if I have 100k to invest, i should distribute approx 10k to each stock?

    One question, why not start from 2000 instead of 2008 for analysis ?

    • @DrWealthVideos
      @DrWealthVideos  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Backtesting limitation. I believe it would even be better considering 2000-2007 was very good for Singapore stocks. US was flat.

    but if the dogs can remained dogs for years, then there may not be upside to this strategy?

    • @DrWealthVideos
      @DrWealthVideos  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The strategy works on mean reversion. And if the dog remains a dog then u mainly get dividends. This strat is not for you if you don’t believe in mean reversion which all forms of value investing benefit from.

    Besides portfolio rebalancing, should we add total value of the portfolio over year?

    • @DrWealthVideos

      You can add capital as you wish and then rebalance

    Problem for foreign investors is the 30pc withholding tax on dividends.

      Yes. That’s why the video suggested to do dogs of the sti as Singapore has no dividend tax
